oh Sam, thats terrible Frowner When will you be seen again? And how is the stomach ulcer? And poor Alfie too. Poor little chap. Its one thing after another. Is he taking his milk ok?

Ooh Laura... nearly the end of the week. It will get easier honestly! Just look at how Mari has changed her tune in just a few weeks Big Grin

I'm a happy bunny today as I weighed the boys again and Tom has seemingly put on 7oz since Monday!!! Eeker Hes now 12lb 9oz. The HV at the clinic reckons the hosp scales were a bit out when they said he was 12lb 2oz. Anyway.. whatever was going on he has def put on 5oz since last Thurs when he was 12lb 4oz. Jake on the other hand has put on absolutely nothing in a week! Oh well. Not going to worry about it as he put on stacks last week.

Dh away again tonight so juggling all 3 littlies again. Have decided trying to get them all to settle in bed is like spinning plates Big Grin

Nighty night xxxxxx

PS... Vicky where are youuuuu?

Hey there ladies

It's soooo quiet on here isn't it?

Laura - I know EXACTLY how you feel. It does get better, honestly. You get yourself into a routine and adjust to it, it'll be fine. Comforting words I had were, apparently it's much much harder to put a toddler into nursery than a baby, as the tears and snotters are real as they truly know what's happening and the guilt is worse. So K and A at least won't know anything else and will be more settled (hopefully, fingers crossed, touchwood and all that Wink )

Summer - the scale thing sounds about right. i had the same with Alfie a while back. And that's all it turned out to be. Well done on the toothiepegs to jake - what a boy! Big Grin Your wonderwoman act seems to be continuing, managing on your own with dh being away for trips and nights. I've said it before, I'll say it again - don't know how the hell you cope! Big Grin

Sam - I think you should audition for your own reality show!!! Never a dull moment, sorry shouldn't make light. hope your probs get sorted fast.

Loocy - are you back at work too?

Love to all x

Has Vicky dropped off the side of Oz?? Hope you are ok hun - we're starting to worry about you.

Oh Laura babe, all I can say is Mari seems to be adjusting and so does Alfie so I'm sure that little Katie will too. Bless her little socks.... And Mari's right - a friend of mine put her wee one in to nursery when she was just over a year and apparently was a nightmare!!! The younger the better they say! I start back next Weds but my mum is having her for the first three days I'm back at work (working Weds-Fri to begin with). We're having her christened on the 30th - I know ridiculous given that I'll just be back at work, but it was a nightmare trying to get dates agreed with the church... so my mum's just coming down the week before and then my little munchkin starts nursery at the beginning of October. Oh god she's growing up and leaving home already... FrownerShe has her first settling in afternoon next Monday so wish her luck!!

As for everything else, just desperately trying to get as much out of our days as possible - oh why have I wasted so much time???? I just can't believe that this is probably the only time in my life I'll get a summer off and the weather has been so truly sh*t. Roll Eyes

Hope everyone else is well - Eilidh is just doing so well these days and really packing the weight on - she's up to well over 17lb which is great!! She's now proper crawling and today I could see she was trying to start cruising round the furniture but just couldn't quite get the legs and arms in the right order... bless!!!

Hope everyone else is well - well done Summer for surviving another night without DH!!!

love
Loocy xxxx

Hello!
So has dh accepted another job offer Mari?? I know you mentioned one but maybe I've missed something? Must be a good job if not worth hanging about for the redundancy?

What a clever boy Alfie is Smiler And Eilidh too. Jake attempted to climb the step into our bathroom this morning but then Daisy finished up in there and came out so he decided as no one was in there anymore it wasn't worth the bother. Other than that hes not really tried pulling himself up on anything. Tom is almost sitting now. Its my aim to get him sitting on his own by the time we next see the physio on the 8th Oct!

Hows the babes' speech coming along? J&T are not saying much at all yet still. Jake has a fab monster growl but thats about it. Daisy was saying mummm at 6 months. The boys have got their 8 month check on Friday (as they'll be 8 months corrected next week) and I've got to fill in a little form asking about their development. The last question is how many sounds does your baby make (eg, ba, da, ma) ... more than 4, 1-4 or none. I guess a monster noise doesn't count Confused If you tick the 'none' box it says you need to be referred. I KNOW HE CAN HEAR JUST FINE. oops, Tom had pressed the caps lock Big Grin ho hum. Will just have to wait 'til Fri.

Right, must go do some sitting practice Big Grin

Summer - dinnae fret as it's well known that boys develop language slower than girls AND that more active babies want to learn to walk before they learn to talk (apparently they can't do both at the same time - too difficult for their wee brains!). And it kind of make sense as women are desperate to gossip and men just grunt at each other anyway!! I'm sure they're both just fine!! how did the check go anyway??

Eilidh hasn't really said much either - a few mmms and the occasional wawawa but not much else so I'm trying not to panic too much. She has her 7-9 month check today so no doubt it will come up - think she might have said bababa today but it's really hard to tell!!!! Some of her little friends are already onto dada and mama but hey ho it all works out in the end. And I read today that Einstein didn't talk til he was 4!!!

Hope everyone else is well - am going to dig Vicky's email address out of msn and email her directly to see where she is and make sure she's ok.

back to work on weds. yuk. Hope work is goingok for you mari and lauar. And like summer I'm a bit lost on the mari dh job front? has he a new job?????

lots of love to all

Hello Girlies

Eeker Eeker Eeker Eeker Can't believe you lot are fretting about babies not talking yet, last time I checked Alfie was only 8 months old!!!!! I thought i got myself in knots about stuff Roll Eyes You lot take the biscuit Big Grin

Sorry about not making sense about dh's job. The one he was offered for less money is the one we decided to take. It is a v reputable company and has good prospects, so we finally (after much wringing of hands) decided to go for it. Sod any dundy money he may have got, at least he'll have been working for the next year and a half impressing someone (hopefully) than working for a year and a half to impress no-one. Does that make sense?

oops phone going will type later

oh I seeee Mari. Sounds like a good plan.... and you won't be worrying for the next how ever long about him getting a job after being made redundant.
How did the 8 mth check go today Loocy?? Yeah... I've told myself that about boys/girls and also the fact that Jake seems to have the brawn and Tom the brains Big Grin The HV wasn't worried but said she'd ring me in a month to see how his babbling is going. She was mightily impressed with him otherwise and said you'd never know he was early at all. She thought Tom was an amazing little chap too so I came away quite happy.
Got to go now. Prog on about a little boy whos the only primordial dwarf in the UK. Was terrified Tom was one at one point.

Hi Everyone

good to hear from people!! Never get the time now!!!!

Summer - good news on the boys progress...must be great when the professionals priase their progress. Just sitting here thinking about how much more you have had to worry about then the rest of us...I really don't know how you do it!!!

Mari - def the right decision re: Dh's job...tough one though!!!!! Hope it works out for him and he settles quickly!

Loocy - hope work goes ok tomorrow. If it is any consolation I'm into my 3rd week and it gets better. I'd still rather not...but hey ho!

Where is everyone else??? Hope everyones ok!!

As for us..in some kind of routine now re: work.. Quite like working a day then off a day. Kaitlyn still really upset when I leave her at nursery but yesterday she settled wuickly and for most of the day. Happy with the nursery mostly - they seem to give lots of love and attention which is what you want but the food was a bit iffy (Pizza, waffles and beans mashed down one day!!!!! I nearly had a heartattack!) so have decided to take my own in!!! Other than that I can't complain.

I'm concerned about K's development too..but today decided to try and chill about it. I see the health visitor most weeks at the BF group I help with and today she said they give BIG margins either side of the milestones and that there is nothign to worry about. Kaitlyn still has:

- No teeth
- had no attempts to crawl (but can sit up really well including turning round and moving an inch on her bum)
- still doesn't bear much weight on her legs although does straighten them now which is an improvement!
- made no noises that could be considered trying to talk (but I'm with you Mari on the "only 8months" comment!!)
- no word of an appointment to check her development. I also need to chase her hearing test that she is meant to be having at 8 months cos of her deafness in the left ear!! arghh!

Anyway...I don't know about anyone else but I was just thinking today that it just gets better and better and I can't imagine life without her and I feel really grateful that I have Kaitlyn and that she is such a cutie..(oh god - can you tell I've had a couple of glasses of wine!!!?) he he he.
Well...off to watch this prog about bringing up baby....

take care everyone.

Lx

Hi Sam!
So glad there is light at the end of the tunnel for your botty problem. I don't know how you've coped with all the probs you've had and the kids ... and you moved house... and masses of stuff!
I'm sure Alfie will get there with weaning in the end.. theres a link I was going to try and find you the other day... about baby-led weaning. Will see if I can find something in a mo.

All ok here... Jake is an unstoppable machine now! Starting to understand "No" already though Big Grin Have got our stairgate in action now as he potters between the bedrooms upstairs and even manages to climb the step into the bathroom.
Oooh and also... am so excited... Its a big milestone for him... Tom is just about sitting at last. Today we had a real breakthrough, so I'm hoping that in the next week he'll get better and better and be a real star for the physio who is coming over next Monday to see how hes got on over the last month.
So proud of him Smiler

Hope everyone else is ok.
Vicki... come back and let us know how things are!!

xxxxxxxxxx

Sam you might want to take a look at this, although there are quite a few sites if you google it..
The idea is that milk is still the main source of nutrition up to 12 months and feeding is more for fun.
