Oooooh no, can do without chickenpox round here thank you Sam!! God, poor you, and Alfie Frowner Though babies get through it a lot more easily than older kids I think. Daisy had it when she was 8 months old and barely noticed really.
I guess when the boys get it they'll prob get it together.
Daisy currently has tonsillitis. Took 4 Drs to diagnose it at the hosp this morning! She'd had a really high temp since Fri eve and was refusing all medicine. She started being sick this morning so dh rang nhs direct who told him to get her to A&E. 4 hrs later after being admitted to the childrens ward someone actually spotted her tonsils were all gunky. So... shes home again and now refusing point blank to take her antibiotics and capol. What the hell do I do???? Confused We've tried everything. They managed after much persuasion to get some capol into her at the hosp by sticking it in some squash. But shes not falling for that again. Was so desperate on Sat night when her temp was 40.2 that we tried holding her down and syringing it in, but it only ended up all over us and in her hair Mad
Really at a loss Frowner

Anyway, sorry, thats my moan.

Mari, really sorry to hear about dh's job. It must be a real worry, but at least you have had a bit of warning. As for nursery... its been brill for Daisy. She does tons of stuff there that she'd never do at home. I'm quite sad for the boys that they'll not have the same experience as theres no way we can afford for them to go, but I'm going to try and get them into the same place for pre-school when they turn 3.

Hi everyone else! Off to stick the thermometer in Daisy's ear again Roll Eyes

Hi everyone - LOTS to catch up on!!
Sam hun chicken pox is all you need, but at least Alfie has had it now and when he's young too!!! I remember having it when I was about 9 or 10 and it was horrendous!!! Hope it clears up soon!!

Laura thank you so so much for the mag article!!! I was in stitches but did have a bit of a cry at the end - will send it back so you can keep it for posterity!

Mari - OMG so sorry about DH's job but like summer says at least you have a fair amount of advance warning so he can look for things. And so pleased Alfie is settling in well at the nursery and you are feeling more positive about it all.

I've been quite adventurous recently with foods and she's eaten everything apart from lentils = whbich is typical as I made the biggest batch of lentil soup!! She also loves lumpy food which is a blessing as I can put the food processor away now and just mash or cut things up! Laura like you I just save a bit of last night's dinner for her lunch or dinner the next day. I do struggle a bit with variety but she gets tons of fresh fruit and veg so I'm trying not to worry about it. I'm trying her with liver today ( Razzertry not to gag... apparently very good for them!?)

As for work situation, it just gets worse. I've emailed my boss' secretary twice in the last two weeks to arrange another meeting before I go back (copied my boss into the emails) and have not even had a response. Even if she's away on holiday, you'd think that someone would reply just to let me know that. It's outrageous and I'm just so upset that she's treating me this way. I'm at a real loss as to what to do and I've been searching for p/t jobs but there are so few jobs out there and the competition for them is so intense. Anyway I've registered my CV with a few agencies but think I'm going to have to look into just leaving and temping as a PA or something for a while. Not even sure if I'm qualified to do that.... But onwards and upwards. I'm trying really hard not to get down about it all and look positively at it all....I'm sure something will come up.

vic - any sign of af yet?

Right, enough moaning from me! Eilidh has another tooth on the top just through!

love to all

Hi Summer

Thanks for your message on the August thread. It was lovely bringing Jake home. He's been home nearly 2 weeks now and is doing so well. He's piling in the weight. He was 6lb 4oz last week and he has grown loads since then so I can't imagine what he'll weigh next week!

I'm glad Tom and Jake are doing well and I hope Daisy is better soon.

Thanks for all your support it has been so good to hear from someone who has been in a similar situation.

love Mandy xxx

Jooooooooooooo! Hi - never mind us...how are you???? How is the family????

Loocy - grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr Mad your boss and my boss need their heads knocking together seriously!!! Mine ignored a couple of my emails and I just gave up and ignored her insytead. She came crawling to me after HR asked why I wasn't going back after 26 weeks and had she said anything to me to make me want not to come back?!!! the way you have been treated is disgusting and I keep my fingers crossed for you that something else will come up. Temping wouldn't be so bad - at least you could be flexible with it!! Oh and K won't eat lentils either!! Poor Eyelid suffering liver!!! Might have to give K a go with that if I can bear to cook it!!!!!! might get my Mum to do it as they have liver sometimes.. puke!!!!!!!!!!

Summer - you poor poor thing. That is the last thing you need. Would it mix in with something she likes to eat??? bit difficult I suppose. Smear it on some toast and put jam over it? Would that work??? Suppose it would still be in her system if it didn't leak all through the bread and give the game away...! or what about stiring it in some icecream? That would be soothing for her throat too? hope she gets better soon!

Mari -how are you pet?? hope you ok. Any news on work for DH???

love to everyone else - K waking up from her nap!!

Lx

ha ha ha ... that made me chuckle Laura... smearing it on bread! Well she continued to refuse everything although dh got lucky a couple of times and she unknowingly drank banana milkshake laced with antibiotics Big Grin . I just gave up in the end and she was better the next day anyway Roll Eyes
Hi Jo! Is anyone else on Facebook? I keep meaning to find your email addresses on msn and check it out.
Can't believe its the 1st of the September babies from last years birthdays. That doesn't come out right written down, but you know what I mean!
It'll be our babies turning one before we know it. Where has this year gone!!??
Tis my b'day too so we're all off out for lunch shortly. Its at times like this when I wish the boys were still just on milk. I'll spend the 1st hr trying to get lunch into the boys, while they try and spread it all over the buggy Roll Eyes

Hi girlies! Smiler

Geez where are the days going???? I swear there aren't enough hours in the day.

Laura/Loocy - brace yourselves sweeties! It's unbelievablely hard going back to work. I got one day's grace before the flood gates opened and folk were literally queing(sp?) up to speak to me and hand in work!!! It's honestly like I've NEVER been away. The good thing is there really is very little time to think about Alfie for long and 5 o'clock is there before I know it.

Everything is going swimmingly at nursery, in fact so well, dh and I are starting to think it's too good to be true! I guess some folk are never happy! Big Grin

I'm also still making everything Alfie eats. He hasn't had any jars yet, but I seriously don't think I can keep it up much longer. It's just too much to come home from work, see to him, make our dinner THEN start making portions of baby food! AND then there's housework too....

DH is actively seeking employment, he's decided if something comes along then screw the dundy money, he'll just leave. So fingers crossed he gets something, we've got till about April next year, so it could be MUCH worse. Still it is a worry.

Right that's you all up-to-date with me, time for personals

Sam - next time you post I expect to read a metor shower has hit your house!!!! Wink I'm sorry to make light but it's just been one thing after another for you. Glad you're starting to feel a bit better.

Summer - the boys are real wee cutie pies in the photo. Glad poor Daisy seems to be on the mend. It's horrible when they're unwell.

Jo - welcome back. Send us an update when you can. How's the house and boys etc?

Loocy - hope something work wise comes up for you. At least you have till Christmas eh? (that's when you have to go full time?) Can't tell you how fast a 4 day week goes in, it's Friday before I know it which is great.

Laura - good luck for your return to work. All things considered, it's actually not as bad as the thought of going back. I'm not saying I relish work, but you do start to engage in adult chat again and it's quite nice to use your brain again, if you know what I mean. Razzer

Vicki - you're very quiet missus!

Tina/KT - hello if you're still reading the thread.

Sorry if I've missed anyone.

xxx

JO you're back!!!! hurrah!!

Summer I'm on facebook - will dig out your email address and get in touch!

oh mari hun I'm soo soooo sooo pleased you are so much happier about the whole work thang. It really gives me hope that there is light in them there tunnels. Smiler

Five weeks to go for me - have arranged a meeting with my boss for next Tuesday but I really don't know if I can be ar*sed any more so we'll see if I don't cancel it at hte last minute (ha ha see how she likes it as she's always doing it!) and just talk to her when I'm back at work. Yes, I AM an ostrich and I LOVE burying my head in the sand. Wink

Sam good to hear things are looking up = hopeyour mum recovers, your bum is on the mend and Alfie eats more!!

Life here has just got interesting as munchkin is now commando crawling and she does it quite fast. EekerAnd we haven't babyproofed our house.... Eeker She does make me laugh - it really is like she's desperately trying to use her legs but they don't work so she just drags herself along with her arms. She's sooooo determined to get anywhere there's no stopping her!! She's also up on all fours and rocking when she's not crawling around so I'm sure she'll be off like a rocket in no time!!! And, of course, it's all she wants to do at the minute and her favourite time to practice is during nappy change....

Hope everyone else is well - Jo fill us in soon soon soon

love
Loocy xxx

PS liver went down a treat but boy oh boy it made me gag when I cooked it. Don't think I'll be doing it that often!!!
