Hi all, I have a 15 week old boy who is a nightmare to settle down to sleep in his cot. He will happily go down in his pushchair or car seat. He will also settle relatively easily if he wakes in the night to feed, he goes back down quite happily, he just refuses to go off at the start of the night. I have tried pu/pd but as is mentioned by others I just find he gets more aggitated. I have also tried a form of controlled crying, but he can scream for hours and there was no improvement over the week. Any suggestion is worth a try. Thanks

Hi Amy

Christine here, have you tried wrapping him round in a blanket like you would with a new born this why he may feel a little more safe and snuge like he would in his car seat, cots have a lo9t of space in them some babies feel like there laying in the middle of the floor try this and let me know how you get on

kind regards

christine

Hi Christine.

Thanks for your suggestion. I will try it, funnily enough he settled better tonight when lying on a fleece blanket that he could snuggle around himself. My only concern is that I never actually swaddled him as he was a big baby (10lb 12), born on the hottest day of this year and I was always concerned about him getting too hot if swaddled. But I am willing to try anything.

Sorry I wasn't more help with your daughter, hopefully some other suggestions will come soon.

I know this sounds quite silly but it may work. when he falls to sleep in the daytime put him in his carseat, inside the cot so that he gets used to being in there. does he sleep in the car seat in the day?? If he is in a moses basket then try putting this inside the cot for a while. Just a suggestion, let me know how you get on!

Seem to have cracked it. Thanks for your suggestion christine, don't want to count my chickens, but he has settled very easily the last 3 nights and 2 mornings when we swaddled him in his fleece blanket. So fingers crossed!!
