Hi Ladies Hope you don't mind me posting, just thought I would let you know that my 9 year old suffers a lot with glue ear, I can always tell because he never seems to hear me, the doctor usually puts him on a liquid ant-histamine called " cetirizine" it works brilliantly. My older sister had it alot when she was younger and when she was 3 yrs old the hospital inserted tiny little grommits in her ear, totally painless (she was put to asleep) which allowed the gluey substance to drain away. They eventually fall out by themselves. As for the speech problems my youngest son harly spoke at all and I was convinced there was a problem, he too suffered with ear infections when he was a baby, then suddenly he got to 4 yrs ols and hey presto now I can't shut him up lol Hope that helps, Heidi xxx
