My little boy is nearly 11 months old and for the last 4 months has been sick nearly every day. Prior to this he was sick but it was assumed he had reflux. It is usually projectile vomit and can occur at any time of the day, not necessarily after a meal. Because he lost some weight he did see a consultant, they thought he had some sort of obstruction so last week he had a barium swallow, which showed everything was all clear. There was a small amount of acid in the stomach but not enough to cause this amount of sick. We have kept a diary of his food and there is no pattern emerging.

We are not due to see the consultant for another 6 weeks, I am fed up, with the worry of it and the extra washing.

Anyone got any ideas what this might be or had any similar experiences.

Helen

Poor Helen
You have posted this, and no one has replied!!!
As you know I dont have problems with Tom being sick, however I know what a night mare it is when Tom is sick these days! It goes everywhere and often requires changes of clothes for me and Tom!!! Frowner

Have they suggested Baby Gaviscon? I vaguly remember you using it in the early days, but sometimes when there is acid in the stomach they use this!
I am SURE that you are under the best care... however 6 weeks seems like a long wait to me? Is this for a reason? or is it just because this is when the next appt was available!!
If it was because it was the next appt available... then I seriously would phone up and try and get it bought forward!!! Poor you and poor Daniel!! If not just keep hassling... sadly from my experience when working for the NHS... those who shout the loudest get the most!!! You might need to try this theory out here??

With regards to the washing.... well its bad enough with one little boy who is not being sick all the time.... let alone 2 children!!
Do you use a tumble dryer??? The balls that you can put in the dryer to help to iron out those creases??

I dont know what else to say really...
Will chat again back on our thread soon....

Take care
Love Em x x x

Hi helen

So sorry about your lo.

i have had past experience with my niece she was the same as your lo,
Drs did all the tests under the sun and found nothing, my mum gave her a small drop of an asian herbal medicine which really helped, i will find out what it is 2moro and send you a pm so you def get it. worth a try hun.

Also i would suggest not giving him anything sour or acidic to eat...

Take care sophie

Hi Helen,
saw this post and its interesting as i have 4 children and never experienced this til no4!
My dayghter (Nearly 6 months old) is very sicky, she is sick constantly, after every meal, between meals, over everything, herself and everyone!
She seems to burp but it come up sicky, solids have made a slight difference, she keeps solids down better than my milk!
I asked hv just yesterday who said as her weight is fine and no obvious signs and it should clear up by 12 months!
I will keep an eye on her and not worry too much as long as her weight is ok.
I was born with a weak stomach valve and other stomach problems but the stomach valve is what lets stuff back up, my dd may have the same as me and if so certain foods are worse than others to cause problems, you can only tell by trial and error what foods are tolarated and whats not.
There are also natural things to help as suggested in other post, and personally i am better when i am on a prebiotic a day which munch bunch do for kids and after 1 yr old i would think they were fine.
Sorry I am not too much help, but if nothing showed on x-ray its nothing obvious so just try some different foods and keep up with the food diary, it may be something you are not thinking of, i always thought of natural products to be better but my dd is worse on my breast milk!! And ds has a type of reaction to apples with his behaviour so anything is possible!

Good luck with it,

Pinky xx
