Hi all Just a quick one to say i took Aisha swimming today for the first time and she absolutely loved it I thought she would as she loves just laying in the bath but still was a bit apprehensive. I held her head and she was floating on her back like she'd always been doing it. We were in there for over half an hour but i think she would have liked to have stayed longer but it was coming up to swimming lessons so we had to get out. There's a special little pool at our leisure centre which is kept at a higher temperature just for babies and kids swimming lessons and its like getting in a bath - bliss. Anyway just wanted to share that with you, off to bed now night all Jane

Hi all, had sophie weighed other day and she is not gaining so much now, 13lb 3oz, hv said breast fed babies were not a worry, she asked if i had started weaning but i said she was not ready. She suggested baby rice made with boiled water when we start, may get some, sophie is up 3 times a night, 12, 3 and by 5 screaming to come into our bed which at that time of morning i cant be bothered to argue with her, if i do try to settle her she wont settle, have sat up til morning trying and yet in our bed she settles instantly!! little madam!! She is very different from my others, they were straightforward, she is complicated!! Well shattered today, went to car show yesterday and did lots of driving there and back, Sophie was a sweetheart, in carrier in morning and pram in afternoon, and she was soooooo good, like she is when we are out! Hope all ok, going now i keep making mistakes, was typing i instead of o and had nit instead of not! Take care all, big waves and hellos to you all, hope babies are all fine, amd mummies getting more sleep than me !! Pinky xx

Hi ladies, Well Aisha is loving her food, she's had baby rice mixed with my milk, different baby cereals and she also loves the little fromage frais pots. However, its not having any effect whatsoever on her sleeping, if anything its got worse over the past few days. Goes to bed ok but then waking anything from 10.30 onwards and not settling herself to sleep again, i have to stand over the cot rubbing tummy, head and making soothing noises. The other night it took me 2 hrs !!!!!!!!! to get her back to sleep. Pinky - like you tho the minute she comes into my bed which is usually about 5ish when the birds wake up she goes to sleep and doesn't stir. Last night was a nightmare and i'm very, very tired today so i'm hoping it was a one off and tonight she'll be better - well i can live in hope and i might manage more than 3 hrs sleep DP gone back to London today so may have to let her cry a bit (he hates to hear her cry and she knows he will pick her up!!). She's got to get back into the habit of settling herself back to sleep without me. I will defo be having early night and hope she has the same idea of wanting a lot of sleep tonight. Bye for now all hope you are all ok and have had a nice weekend Jane xx

Hi everyone, Nicki- Frenchie left a message on the 13th May, it's on page 8 I think. Janie- wow Aisha's enjoying her food! We've not started yet, Harriet's weight is still piling on and although she's waking in the night I'm going to wait a bit longer. It's so hard to know when the right time is! Hope that Aisha starts sleeping better soon x Pinky- Harriet weighs more than Sophie now! She was 13lb 7oz today, little porker She's definitely slowing down though. Hattie likes our bed too and settles quickly when she comes in with us, little madams know how to get their own way! Frenchie- glad everything's going well with you and Reuben. Sorry the bfing is wearing you out, it seems to have the opposite effect on me I have so much energy! Think it may just be cos I'm not pregnant anymore I caved in and weighed myself at the weekend and I've only got 7 pounds to lose to be back at my pre-pregnancy weight I'm really pleased as was convinced I had a lot more to lose. Has made me a bit lax with the healthy eating though and I've had lots of naughty things this week. Really need to tone my belly it still looks like an empty bag!! Anyone know any good exercises?? Hope everyone's well Rusty x

Hi All, Jane - how lovely that you took Aisha swimming. I can't wait to take Jemma, got her pink costume all ready. How's her sleeping/eating going? Hope you've managed to get some sleep. It's good that she likes her food, they say the more tastes you expose them to earlier on, the less fussy they will be when they're older. I've just got a couple of Annabel Karmel books which are fantastic. A step-by-step guide to weaning and lots of great recipes, even guidance on allergies and dairy which is helpful. Pinky - hope Sophie's not screaming as much and not keeping you up all night.Jemma loves her cot & sleep so much and has been a little doormouse this week. She has a morning feed at 7am and then goes back to bed til 9.30 (10am this morning!). Rusty, well done on Harriet's weight gain, that's fantastic, Jemma's now 12lbs 2oz so we catching up slowly. Fantastic that you only have 7lbs to go too, I have double that and seem to be thinking about food all the time...don't know what's wrong with me. Having an M&S up the road doesn't exactly help. Willpower not good! Our house purchase is progressing but get this, the vendors want to take wall lights, ceiling lights, mirrors and shelves attached to the wall with them!! Is that petty or what? I'm amazed that people would go to the trouble of getting an electrician in to disconnect everything and unscrew fittings!? I'm not happy as I really don't want the aggravation of having to decorate every room as soon as we move in - have left it to our solicitor to thrash it out with theirs. Anyhow, round 2 of Jemma's jabs tomorrow, going to give her some Calpol beforehand this time to see if that helps with the pain, poor little mite. Waves to everyone else Jenny xx

Afternoon everyone its very quiet on here at the moment, hope everyone is ok. Not much to report here apart from Aisha seems to be settling a bit more with her sleep, she tends to wake about 11pm ish but last couple of nights i've managed to settle her quite quickly, then she'll go off again, last night she then woke at 3.30am for a feed and went back to sleep about 4.15 till 5.30 when she came into bed with me. each night seems to be a little better so hope it wont be too long before she's back to how she was (well i can live in hope lol!!) Food wise she has a small pot of fromage frais at lunchtime with her milk then around 4.30pm she has either rice or cereal which she loves. Then she has final feed about 7.30-8pm. Maybe thechange of feed routine is what is helping, i dont know - to be honest its all trial and error but she's happy. Haven't tried veg again yet, going to leave it another week or so as i want her tummy just to get used to foods. Haven't had her weighed recently but should get to clinic next week so we'll see what she weighs then, going swimming before clinic with one of the ladies from antenatal who has twins. She only takes one at a time tho, one goes swimming the other goes in the creche at leisure centre and alternates the following week. Rusty - well done on yr weight, i so wish i only had 7 pounds to lose but my weight is just creeping up again. I'm convinced it is the cerazette pill that is causing it as i really am trying to eat sensibly and go out for walks every day, weather permitting. I really want to get back to my yoga as i felt so good before and was very supple but my hips and back are stiff as a board some days. Trying to find out daytime classes so Aisha can go to mum's or into creche. Jenny - I've heard alot about the annabel karmel books so might have to invest, i really want aisha to try as many foods as possible so she's not fussy. i'm a nightmare and am very fussy with foods, dont eat meat or fish so its going to be hard to introduce those into her diet but a long way to go so not worrying at the moment. Hoope Jemma was ok with her jabs can't believe how petty the vendors of yr new house are, that's just ridiculous, hope you can resolve it. Pinky - how is sophie sleeping now and you are getting bit more sleep. I think Aisha might be teething aswell, she has had very red cheeks for a few days now and is knawing on anything available, got her teething ring but she prefers her fist and fingers, been putting on calgel when she seems really uncomfortable and occasionally half dose of calpol, her gums are very hard at the top it seems a bit sharp beneath the gums, is it possible, i'm not really sure if she is too early or not? greetings to all mums, hope the weather is better where you are, its not stopped raining so far today so stuck in the house and nothing on tv. take care Jane xx

Hi All, having trouble getting on here, not through fault of the site, but dp hogging laptop and as soon as i gat a second Sophie starts screaming!! She is right now sat on my lap sucking on her dummy watching the screen! Rusty thats fab only 7lb, i still have a stone to go and have lost 1 st 8lb on a diet so far, the last stone is hard but i have 3 months b4 i measure up for wedding dress so determined to do it, although the pizza hut lunch we have planned wont help!! Jenny, i remember a neighbour moving out and they stripped the place bare, and cut the string off with bathroom light pul, and uprooted plants from the garden, it was unrecognisable from the house they sold!! How petty but what some people are like, not worth you worrying about!! Jane, Sophie is on baby porridge with sometimes mashed bannana in for breakfast, she has milk as normal and then some baby rice and veg for tea, followed by bit of fruit or something, peachy stuff last night, she really is not keen on the veg and loves the sweet stuff!! I think her sleep is improving but it is difficult to say as dp has been off for 2 weeks so we are not being disturbed at 3.30 am!! I have a problem on the boob, she has started to bite, has anyone else had this? I think she has finished feeding and then just bites but she clamps down hard and does not let go!! needless to say it bloody hurts!! She is biting on fists and her dummy but i need to explain to her mummy is not a teether! Have to go sorry, bum to change and ds wants to come on here b4 dp out the shower!! bye for now all, hope all ok, terrible stormy here, big tree gone down outside! catch up better soon i hope! Pinky xx

Ahhh am I the only one who's not started weaning yet?? Am I leaving it too late? I don't know what to do the advice is so confusing but Harriet seems happy on just milk at the moment Pinky- Harriet does boob biting too especially when she gets distracted. Not found a way to make her stop but hope she does before teeth come in!! Mojo- what some people will do to save a few pennies! When I bought my house the vendors said they were taking everything but ended up leaving a load of cr*p which i had to get rid of! Janie- Yay to Aisha sleeping better. Harriet's sleeping better too, went from 7pm to 4.30am last night, the longest ever Hope everyone enjoyed the bank holiday weekend Rusty and a very wriggly Harriet who has decided that honking is a lovely new sound to make!!

Thanks baby usa, tha first bit is what sophie is doing, after a feed she keeps boob in her mouth and bites, i have taken her out and said 'dont bite mummy, its not nice!' she is a bit of an attention seeker and worry if i give her too much fuss about it she will then do it for different reasons! Hope that it will subside, its not at every feed and she has no teeth yet either!! Rusty, no hurry to wean, i was just worried i would miss a window she was receptive to wean, and she certainly is not bothered about it, nor needs it, she has baby cereal at breakfast and something at tea time but its breast as normal really and i will not increase until she seems to want it. Must dash, not very well today, and sophie crying for me, Take care all, I will get on here to catch up one day!! Pinky xx

Hello, Rusty, LOL at Harriet honking! I saw a friend today and her baby's blowing raspberries and spraying everywhere it's hilarious. Jemma's giggling and ah-gooing lots now which is really cute. She also had her 1st ride in her door bouncer which went quitue well considering....she didn't cry and just bobbed about a bit. Great photo opportunity. We're not weaning yet either, I' think I'll wait until she's 6 months unless she starts screaming for more food beforehand. Jane, how's Aisha doing, sleeping better? Have you had her weighed this week yet? We're going to clinic next Mon so hope to break the 12lb mark. Jemma certainly feels heavier and is sooo long. Pinky, hope Sophie's behaving herself and not knawing too much - ouch. Hope you're feeling better anyhow. Pants weather at the moment, what happened to Spring? Don't laugh, I've got the heating on, our flat so cold. I saw SATC film today and it was brilliant. Won't spoil it for any of you but it's a real rollercoaster of emotions...I was belly laughing one minute and crying the next! Anyhow go and see it when you get a chance. Quick question, someone mentioned you're supposed to put babies on their tummies several times a day to learn how to roll over. I tried it with Jemma and she just seemed really uncomfortable and started to cry. Should I persevere or is she still too little? Off to see our new house again this w/e, will meet the vendors and hopefully sort these fixtures out once and for all - will try & stay calm Jenny xx

Morning all, Hooray we have sunshine at last Just a quick one while Aisha is sleeping. I took her to clinic yesterday to be weighed, its been 3 wks so wanted to see how much she'd gained since she'd been having food. She put on 13oz in 3 wks so now weighs 12lb 130z. HV was happy with this and said finally at 19 wks she has gone from 2nd to 9th centile on chart. I told her what food she's having and she made me very happy by saying that it sounds like i'm doing everything right and if i wanted i could start to give her some breakfast as she's only having lunch and tea at the moment. Started on veg yesterday, had mashed carrot then half rush in milk then 5oz of milk (think she'd worked up an appetite from swimming yesterday morning!!) then had banana cereal and pureed apple for tea at 5pm then 4oz milk at 7pm then she crashed out so went to bed early. Sleeping getting better i'm happy to say, still bit hit and miss each night but generally she's only waking once sometimes twice in the night and is settling quickly again, the other night she slept from 8pm til 3.45am, i fed her then we had almightly thunder and lightning storm so she would not settle in her bed but came to mine and went off til 8.30!! Pinky - not experienced any biting but she's very good at pinching my skin, ouch!! Also she found my glasses and often without warning they'll go off across the room. Hope yr feeling bit better today, nothing too bad i hope. Rusty - i wouldn't worry about the weaning, if Harriet is not showing any signs then there's no rush, i just felt that the time was right for Aisha and she is definitely enjoying the different flavours. Baby rice is now too bland and she does not like that. LOL at the honking, aisha has a strange sound that's a cross between a laugh and a grunt, she's very funny and does this when you talk to her. Also as Jenny says blowing raspberries is hilarious she thinks especially when she has a mouth full of food Jenny - re tummy time i put aisha on tummy couple times a day but after a couple of minutes she starts grumbling but her head control has got better. At night after her bath i have to put her cream on for dry skin so we make it a game and she loves going on her tummy then while i massage the cream in. Then when finished i say to her "roll over" and she does Right better go as she's just woke up have a good day everyone i'm off out to do a friends hair this afternoon and aisha always get spoilt while i'm there. take care Jane xx

Right, 1) apologies for not being on in ages 2) apologies in advance for not answering all personals or i'll be here all night! 3) so, H is 4months now, think he mostly has nights cracked tho T has messed us all about recently with early mornings so H has gone back to a 4am feed. hoping both will calm down again soon. tip: turn off the monitor! as soon as i did and stopped rushing in at the slightest snuffle, he slept through! just goes to show, even second timers make mistakes!!! had a few days away last week, left T with in-laws, so enjoyed the calm just with 1 baby should be doing lots of others things, like thank yous for t's birthday presents - we all had fun and lots of cake not managing to shift the baby/chocolate weight yet, tho i hopeful it is starting to move...need a weight loss ticker to kick me into gear. have signed up for a 13mile walk in july so best get a move on! hi to you all, hope to hear your news soon, and will try to get on more often to keep up! kt
