I hope my children look back on today,

And remember a mother who had time to play,

There are years ahead for cleaning and cooking,

And children grow up while your not looking,

So dust cobwebs go to sleep,

as i am rocking my baby,

and babies dont keep.

Anon

Saw this up at nursery years ago, seen few versions of it since but the general thing is the same, its my excuse if the house is a mess!!

hiya, justa quicky.

yes i managed to get cat and he is fine, we dont know why his fur dropped out but he is normal so ???

joshua now weighs 14lb 4oz!!!! Eeker Big Grin and is more gorgeous day by day, propa cheeky chappy.
he holds his bottle now when i feed him and when he's fed up or wants to burp he pushes it away lol. i've had to buy 3-6months clothes as he is just so long, his pants and tshirts still fit okish but baby grows etc are way too small.

my mum has just had a emergency historectomy(spelling) so going to the hospital nonstop, its not easy as babys and children arnt allowed so having to juggle josh around with fam...hmmm.

oh and i am feeding josh on baby rice and baby brakefast, he's doing great. i will put jsh up to 8oz soon as he is draining the bottle more often, my bottles only go up to 8.5oz so dont know what i will do when he wants more lol. health visitor on monday so will see how that goes.

oh and having coil fitted next fri, have any of u had this and whats ur experiances???

gota get ready to go to the hospital now so will do more personals later

take care every1

Jenni,
Had a coil fitted few weeks ago, all went ok, have had coils for last 14 years between pregnancys, never got pregnant with one in, never had any problems, had one infection which was not nice but soon sorted,
Mirena had last time, again no problems and gradually it stopped my periods which is great!
It took me longer to get pregnant after the mirena was removed than the normal copper type so i have gone for the normal one this time in case i decide for one more baby.
I would say they are great, give you total freedom with no hasstle, not the most comfortable thing to have fitted, like having smear but takes longer.(once in you cant feel it or even be aware its there)
I will say they are not right for everyone but for me thay have been fine, you may get period type pain with it when fitted but it should settle and if not get it checked.
They may give you heavier periods than usual and if you get heavy periods a mirena may be reccomended for that reason.
Any questions please ask, pm me if you would rather!

Hi All,

Jane/Rusty, how are your little ones doing in their cots. I'm going to move Jemma into hers this w/e as she's getting long and keeps kicking her way to the top of her moses basket by the morning. Jane is your DP back yet, must have been hard without him but lovely to have him back.

Jenni, glad your cat is ok. Josh is getting a big boy now and eating so well, Jemma is still on 3-4oz per feed with her little tummy but sleeps for 4 hours in one go at night.

Pinky, like the sound of the glowworm toy, might try and get one. I have got dummies that glow in the dark which are easy to locate when I'm fumbling around at 4am!

Katy - glad you're doing well, loved the idea of a trip to a farm. Have you sorted out your photos yet? They grow so fast I shall post some more soon.

Anyone recommend calpol before/after jabs? Heard it can help.

Must dash, Jemma wanting her dins.

Jenny xx

Right second attempt
sat and wrote a big post and lost the bloody thing, there should be a way of saving before posting Mad
will try again...

Pink - loved the poem
thanks for the advice, i did see some of the sleeping bags in tesco and they were only £10, think i will get her one and see how she goes altho the last couple of nights haven't been too bad.
I got her one of those gloworms as they were on offer at argos and while she's a bit more used to it now she really freaked out when i first pressed it and the face lit up, haven't sussed how to turn off the music yet tho.
Also got her a cot mobile with little jungle animals on which goes round and plays a tune which she absolutely loves, she just lays there watching it go round and round.

Missing DP like mad now, did not think it would be so bad but he is managing to call me at least, sometimes twice a day but counting down the days to when he comes back.....
We have spoken about me moving down to london area which i really want but have a lot to sort out with my house first as i will not sell it, i would get a decent amount by renting and going to see letting agent next week to see what has to be done. Quite a few little jobs that need to be done as well as the insurance job.
can't remember if i said but the day before aisha was born i woke up to find water coming through upstairs landing ceiling. All internal works have been approved by insurance but i am still waiting for them to confirm about repairs to the roof. I have been rining most days and they say "yes we are chasing up the report from contractor" but can i get an answer !! can i hell. have sent snotty emails and left other messages but nothing.
Am going to get onto them again Monday and demand to speak to manager, it's just not good enough, i'm fed up of seeing wallpaper hanging off the wall and ceiling and obviously can't move until all works are done.

Jenni - hope your mum is recovering well, it must be hard for you running around but best wishes for speedy recovery to her.
Wow Josh is really doing well, aisha was just over 10lb 2 wks ago but she should be around 11lb now i think by the feel of her.
She's still in newborn clothes tho have been putting 0-3 vests on even tho they are bit big still. I have some lovely clothes that are 0-3 but they are just too big still but they should be fine by the time warm weather comes, she has some gorgeous dresses that i can't wait to see her in.

I've asked DP to bring me back some traditional asian clothes back for aisha altho not sure if he'll get the sizing right, he's also going to bring me back some handmade shoes, bit like slipper/mule things, usually made from satin and embroidered. Have asked for red pair which he then pointed out are usually worn by brides!! Big Grin altho i did not know this but i love the colour red. have to wait and see what he brings back if he remembers.

re the coil, personally its not for me, i had it fitted about 18 months or so ago but had to have it removed after a short time, it was so painful, i was in pain all the time non stop and DP was convinced he could feel it, if you know what i mean Roll Eyes
i know a lot of women get on just fine but it was not for me.
I'm taking POP called Cerazette which is just about the only form of contraception i can have now due to medical issues and age (other than celibacy!!) getting on fine so far and it has a 12 hr window for taking which is great for me as i'm useless at remembering to take tablets of any kind.

Hi to everyone else, frenchie, kayt, missc, rusty and mojo - hope you are all ok and babies are being good and thriving.

Right, going to press Post Now and hope it goes through this time

Have a good weekend
take care
Jane

Hi Jenny

think i was still typing my post then saw yours.

Aisha's got her second lot of jabs on Monday and last time i gave her a dose of calpol when we got home after them "just in case" and she was fine, she slept so deeply which the nurse said was one of the side effects.

When does Jemma have hers?

Oh, I forgot to mention on last post that Aisha has baby excema, went to doctors today as her tummy was covered in little tiny red spots which had started to go behind her ears. Doc gave me E45 to put of 4-6 times a day.
I knew it was nothing sinister as she did not have temperature and did the glass test but was worried it was spreading. She doesn't seem to be bothered by it tho.

Rusty - am i correct in remembering that Harriet had similar thing, how is she now?

Right, definitely off now
good night all
Jane

Hi Jane,

the worm is really loud for a baby toy!
take the inner unit out and you will see a switch on it for off, music and no music, just switch it to no music and it is a much nicer toy!
I can imagine knocking it accidentally at night and poor sophie jumping out of her skin!
Just had to post to tell you, like i say much nicer toy quiet!!

hi everyone, just a quick one as I'm absolutely knackered!

Harriet was Christened today, all went well and she didn't even cry Smiler It's been so hectic I'm looking forward to a good night's sleep. Will post some pics soon.

Jane- yes Aisha's eczema sounds like Harriet's. She still has a few red spots on her tummy and back but much better and dry patches have cleared. I used hydrocortisone cream for 1 week and now I just use aqueous cream twice a day.

Just a thought for your 0-3 months clothes- have you washed them yet? It's just that mine seemed to shrink a bit after the first wash and don't want you to find she can only wear them once. Harriet's starting in 3-6 months clothes now although most of them are way too big!!

Mojo- I waited to see if Harriet had a reaction before giving her calpol but, in hindsight, think I should've just given it!! She was screaming for half an hour before it took effect Eeker

Harriet's still in her moses basket in the cot as we haven't got round to getting a mattress yet. She is sleeping much better in her own room thoSmiler

Hello to everyone else, really have to go to bed now I'm exhausted Frowner

Rusty - glad christening went well.

Mojo - with both boys i have given half the dose (1.25ml, or 1 if easier) just before the jabs, then the other half as soon as we get home. it knocked ds1 out for the rest of the day but didn't seem to have much effect on ds2 - tho no screaming so maybe it helped?
will do the same with other sets of jabs anyway.

have got photos onto dh's pc but not sorted them or had time to upload any onto msn, love seeing all yours tho so must get on with it!

jane - im on cerazette too, so far no probs, tho i have read that lots of people suffer from panic attacks/anxiety/depression/mood swings on it so am trying to watch out for that, tho it's hard to tell when i'm sleep-deprived and grumpySmiler
any progress on the insurance job???
when is dp back, must be soon now.

pinky - i'm just too squeamish for a coil i think, have to have a smear soon as was due one when pg so must grit my teeth and get on with that too. liked that poemSmiler

jenni - hope your mum is ok, and the cat! well done to josh on his weightSmiler

right, spoiling ds1 with beebies before breakfast, doesn't normally happen but dh back to work today so going for easy lifeSmiler
ds2 asleep in cot, just 1 feed last night, has been 2 the last few nights.
must go and get breakfast sorted as i'm starving even if ds1 is happy watching tv!

Just a quick one, don't want to risk it disappearing again!!

Aisha had her 2nd lot of jabs today, oh my god she screamed worse this time as she had 2 jabs in one leg, apparently next time it is 3 jabs, dreading that one even more. Well the poor little mite did not settle all afternoon and it took me a long time to get her to sleep, she had a dose of calpol and is sleeping deeply now, just been to check so have to see if she's ok through the night. Am preparing myself for unsettled night just in case.

Pinky - thanks for the info on the worm, i've got it on just light now and she's much happier cos she can have it near her now. I was worried before to put too close incase she set it off in her sleep. Agree, its much nicer now its quiet.
I'm a great fan of quiet toys Smiler

Rusty - glad the christening went well, hope you've recovered a bit today, can't wait to see some piccies.
The E45 cream seems to be taking the redness away from Aisha's spots so i'll just have to see how it goes,it's under her chin aswell as in the folds of her neck so have to extra careful when washing and drying. Will give it a couple of weeks then if i don;t think it's getting better i'll go back and annoy the doctor and get some stronger cream like you had.
No i haven't washed the 0-3 clothes, that did not occur to me, good suggestion, all in the wash now.

kayt - no news on the insurance yet, i'm gonna keep ringing them then eventually when i do get it sorted i'm going to ask them for contribution towards all the phone calls i've had to make, i know the chances of getting anything are remote but i'm getting completely peed off with it all now.

DP should be home a week on Wednesday, hooray. He rang today and said he will be happy to come back now, he does not like what his home country has become in just the short time he's been away. I never thought i'd hear him say anything like that.

Right, off now to watch Waking the Dead then off to bed for hopefully decent nights sleep.

Bye for now
Jane

Jenni,
If he was arrested the police can press charges even if you don't want them too, they take it seriously and it sounds like a serious assault which if he has no previous he would prob get get suspended sentence.
If you press charges it may be more serious for him?
Take care, and keep away from him, sounds like you don't do each other any favors being together!

Jenni,

That sounds traumatic, I hope you are ok and not too shaken by the whole episode. Best to keep your distance and stay with your mum until you decide what to do. I should hope he is full of remorse but you need to look after yourself for Josh's sake.

Jane, Jemma's due to have her jabs tomorrow but she's had a nasty tummy bug and diarrhoea for a few days Confused so I'm not sure if they'll allow them if she's not 100%. I'm really stumped to be honest as we were on Cow & Gate Comfort milk for 2 weeks which seemed to be ok then her poo just got looser and more watery by the day. Rang their advice line and they said 'normal' for this to happen (?!) but it was so frequent I got concerned and switched back to their ready-made infant milk. Needless to say she now gets bad cramps and wind again which is why we took her off it in the first place. Although her poos are getting a bit lighter so maybe it's helping...trial and error really but feels like a vicious circle. I had to scoop some poop into a tube to be sent to the lab - what fun we had! Eeker Get the results on Thursday so hope it's nothing serious and we can sort it out. The only good thing is she's putting on weight so that's something, 10lbs 12.5 oz. Big Grin

Trying to get her into more of a routine, she takes a while to settle in the evening, I can hear the wah, wah's down the monitor as I type....better go!

My GP recommended Cerazette, the 12 hour window being a godsend seeing as I can't remember my name some days!

Hello to everyone else, lovely now the weather's getting warmer and sunnier..Spring is finally here.

Jenny xx

hi there

Jenni - i hope you are alright now and forgive me for speaking out of turn but it sounds to me like you would be far better off without your DP. You must make the decision that's best for you but really if a man does this once then it's likely he will do it again and you cannot risk that with Josh around. My sister once went out with a bloke many yrs ago who hit her once, he didn't the chance to do it again as my dad had him up against the wall and threatened to do the same to him, needless to say he disappeared off the scene rather sharpish.

Take care of yourself Jenni and think of yourself and Josh, you are the 2 most important people.
Hope your mum is getting on ok, a friend of mine had hysterectomy last yr and she was discharged after 2 days also, I can't believe some hospitals can be so throughtless especially if there is little care available at home.
Josh'll be alright with his jabs, just give him big cuddle after, aisha had hers yesterday and was ok after about 10 mins.

Jenny - hope Jemma ok for her jabs but it might be best to postpone them in case but i guess doc will know best. Not nice having to scoop the poop, hope its nothing serious.
Wow she's really putting on weight now, how many wks old is she, sorry I forgot.

Taking Aisha to be weighed tomorrow then going for lunch with couple of ladies who i made friends with at antenatal, one has twins so we look a sight parading through town.

Also, one last thing, DP rang me this morning and asked me what my favorite gemstone was, i told him emerald in white gold, i think he's buying me a ring while he's out there !! Big Grin
have to wait and see as i've been hinting long enough.

off now to get my tea, aisha seems to have settled fairly quickly tonight, only had to go back up once, press the gloworm and wind up mobile and she's gone off.

Back soon
take care all, especially you Jenni

Jane, Jemma is now 9 and a half weeks. Out of interest how much calpol did you give Aisha and was it before or/and after? I've got the sachets and they recommend the little spoonful, 2.5ml. How are her spots? E45 is brilliant, I used it myself for lots of things.

How exciting your DP is coming home, bet you can't wait to see him. And maybe a sparkler to boot.... Big Grin

Re your insurance claim, threaten them with the Ombudsman, that always gets things moving. They're all notoriously inefficient when it comes to paying out but damn quick to take premiums from us! Keep at them, every day if need be until they sort it.

Rusty, congrats on Harriet's christening, it must have been lovely. We're not that organised yet but my mum kept my christening gown and wants Jemma to wear it so I need to get something organised otherwise it won't fit her!

Rusty, Jemma is also still in her moses basket - we went to assemble her cot at the w/e and good old John Lewis had sent 2 lots of top and bottom ends but no base or side rails - most annoying. Been onto them and the earliest they can deliver a new one is 1st May.

Katy, thanks for the calpol tip. Think all babies react differently, just hope I don't cry when they administer them! DH is now working from home now which is lovely, I get to have lie-ins some mornings and the odd shopping trip out on my own...bliss.

Anyone got any recommendations for nappy rash cream? I tried Sudocrem but Jemma's skin flared up even more - now using Johnsons which is milder so no irritation but taking a while to heal. Read good things about Metanium - anyone used it?

Hi to Pinky, hope you and little Sophie are well, how much does she weigh now?

Jenni - let us know how you are.

Jenny xx
