Hi All, Just a quick hello, hectic as ever! Welcome cdmh, and baby Ciaran, never too late to come and join us! Sounds like he is doing fine, as are you, the babies seem to go through hungry times, Sophie has just picked up an extra feed at night, so as i breast feed i pump some off during the day for her. Its interesting you know how many etc, i was stumped as to how much to give, i pump off 4-5 oz and she takes anything from 1-4 of it but it really does work to settle her at night. Jenny, yes we have a bouncy chair but i think i should have got a rocking one as she doesnt seem to notice the vibration so screams in it anyway. The doctor asked if she seemed to be in any pain but i said there was no rhyme or reason she just screams! Just hope she grows out of it!! Rusty, Fab news about the job, was talking to someone who does the same job, she joined an agency when she needed some flexibility, she said what area she could cover and what hours and was put where needed, she said its a great way to find out about jobs available too, obviously cos you are covering someone else! Anyway good luck in what u decide xx going now b4 Sophie wakes or df finishes his shower! Went for a manicure today, Sophie sat on my lap as she was not happy in the pram, she watched! There was relaxing music playing and Sophie loved it, the therapist kindly gave me a copy of the cd to play for Sophie, i am sure i have had a better day for playing her soothing music! Must dash, Hello to everyone else i have not mentioned, still thinking of you all! Pinky xx

Morning everyone, Hello cdmh, read your message yesterday but it has disappeared now Maybe it's my computer?? Anyway, congratulations on the birth of baby Ciaran and hope you are both well x Look forward to getting to know you! Pinky- I have thought about joining an agency but i am a bit restricted in my area as i live by the sea (so half the area i could travel to is under water!!). Might have a look into it though as is definitely a possibility. Mojo- glad you and Jemma are doing well, hope she starts putting on a bit more weight soon. Janie- I took Harriet's plasters off when she had a bath and they just pealed off. I'm dreading the next injections, it's heartbreaking isn't it! We went to the circus at Blackpool tower yesterday and it was brilliant! Harriet was an angel and didn't cry once and she was fascinated I didn't think she'd get much out of it but it kept her amused, apart from the half an hour she spent snoozing What's everyone up to for easter? Rusty x

Evening ladies, a very quick one I promise. Firstly just have to tell you that Aisha rolled from her tummy onto her back yesterday She was laying on her playmat and I went into the kitchen to put kettle on, i was only gone 30 seconds and when i got back into lounge there she is laying on her back!!! I couldn't believe it so put her on tummy and she did it again. I was so excited I texted DP, sister and rang my mum !!!! Jenny - it sounds like things are settling with Jemma and she seems to be growing well and yes I nearly cried at her jabs as she was so upset, all happening again in 4 wks How much does she weigh now, Aisha hit the 9lb mark this week, she's now 9lb 1oz but everyone still thinks she looks little which I suppose she does as she has short body and legs (ler her mum!!!) Rusty - wow taking Harriet to the circus, glad she enjoyed it (and you) CDMH - welcome but as Rusty says yr post seems to have disappeared so hope yr ok. Well, I'll be off now DP due to arrive shortly and we'll be having a lovely long weekend together. Have a happy easter everyone and hope you don't get snowed in, I think it's gonna snow here according to weather chaps. Jane xxxx

Hi Jane, How exciting Aisha rolling over by herself, it's just wonderful to see them grow and do new things every day .I put Jemma on her play gym mat yesterday and played her some of the tunes but think she's still a bit too little to appreciate it, although she is starting to focus on things more and stares intently at our faces when we hold her. She kept Daddy up til 2am this morning, refusing to settle despite having a full tummy, clean nappy and lots of cuddles. She still thinks night is day! Her feeding is going well though and she's getting breast and bottle with every feed so hopefully she'll have gained by the time she's weighed next Wed. She's 8lbs 4oz at the moment. Have a lovely w/e with DP. We're off to see family in Hampshire tomorrow and will leave at the crack of dawn (seeing as we'll be up anyhow ) so fingers crossed the traffic won't be too bad. Happy Easter everyone, tuck into lots of lovely chocolate eggs. Jenny xx

hi all. my god i took josh to docs for jabs etc, i read what happened to u lot and was expecting tears but i didnt realise how much it wud brake my heart hearing him scream like that. his lil legs bled quiet alot too. anyway he is 12lb 8oz now big boy hey. the doc noticed that one of josh's hips clicks so he is sending us for a scan. when i got home i tried moving it like doc did and it really does click, cant believe i never noticed it b4. has any1 else experianced this? what cud it mean? i have a confession, i tried josh on baby rice the other nite, after awhile and alot of mess and afew tears he ate it all but woke up early coz of DP geting up to have a pee in the night therefore we dont know if it wud help him sleep more or not, then the next night he wasnt good from injections so was uo early and last night he was so tired he didnt hardly eat any of it or his milk...bless him. rusty- i was witrh a agency for awhile when i worked at the hospital, i didnt really like it as they cud drop u at any time and made things more complicated. and as soon as i fell preg they didnt want to know me, i asked if they had any jobs that i cud do whilst preg and they never got back to me and when i rang they were rude...put me right off. i hope u have a better experiance. jane- Aisha rolling over hey, thats great. its amazing how much our lil ones are developing isnt it. sound like u have a lovely bright baby on ur hands. CDMH-hiya, i didnt see ur post but welcome anyway. pinky- that was really nice of the therapist to give u some music for sophie, jossh loves any music and will happly sit there listening to it. infact he watchs tv...i put him in his bouncer(that doesnt work) and he will watch the screan and kick his legs and gurgle, very cute,i think its the shapes and colours and sounds he likes but its so nice to watch him interacting with it and talking away lol, it gives me a brake as he always likes to talk and b cuddled. opps best go, smelly nappie. hi to every 1 else- jenny, kt, missc, frenchie. hope u are all ok xxx

Just a quick note to say Jemma now weighs 9lbs 7oz!! It's exhausting doing both breast and bottleround the clock but all worthwhile as it's obviously doing the trick! Now just to try and ease her colic - H/V recommended Colief - anyone used it? Will catch up soon, time for another feed... Jenny xx

Hi everyone! Hope you all had a good Easter, I ate far too much chocolate and think i've put back on all the weight i lost Have only had rejections from the jobs i applied for so a bit disappointed but will keep trying. On a positive note I tried an electric breast pump and was able to get 4oz off at a time so much happier about that. As long as i can keep breast feeding/expressing i will be happy even if i have to go back to work full time. Janie- yay to Aisha rolling over! That must be weird to find her in a different position to what you left her in! Hope you had a lovely weekend with your DP Mojo- Harriet's only just started appreciating her play mat now, don't think it helps that she likes being upright all the time! Glad Jemma's gaining well, i've not tried Colief but someone at my breastfeeding group uses it and says it's really helped but took a while to take effect. Jenni- Hope it's nothing too serious with Josh's hip, when is he having his scan? Good luck with it anyway Pinky/Frenchie/Katy/Missc- hope you had a lovely Easter and are all well x Harriet's now 11lb 1oz and i'm getting seriously worried she's not going to fit into her Christening gown Rusty x

Hi All, Just a quick one to say hello! Jenny, never heard of that colic relief, but will say Sophie was bad with it for a short while, i used infacol, but she seemed to get to grips with it all and is just windy now, one good burp with winding , then a bit of milk comes back then she settles, b4 it was either burp, burp sick then lots of sick, or one good projectile one! Now i hardly get milk back in big lots, i was starting to get worried about it but i think she has grown out of it. Rusty, Had a great easter thanks, really family and nice, kids behaved and enjoyed the easter egg hunt, they got a few eggs and a present each this year, just so they didnt go mad on the chocolate! Keep going with the jobs hun, it only takes one to say yes!! I manage to get off 6-7fl oz a day for Sophies night time feed, not sure if that is good or bad! Use tommee tippee breast pump, and although a bit achy on the hands i find it does the trick and i have never been able to express b4 so must be something in it. The electric one sounds the biz, was it expensive? Mine was half price so a cheapie and for the one feed a day it is ok. Sophie moves but in a different way, she pushes with her feet when flat on the floor and spins round in a circle, i put her along a towel last night on the floor and when i looked again she was across the towel! Funny, i remember one of mine could travel quite a long way using that method! Be warned all, they move now when you least expect it so the floor is the best place as they cant fall off it! Must go, wedding related things to do!! Love Pinky xx

Hi Pinky Glad you had a nice Easter, good idea with the pressies- think my neice and nephews could've done with a bit less chocolate! Good experience for me though My pump was £54 Worth it though cos hope i will save that much on formula. 6-7oz is loads i'm so jealous!! I have a tommee tippee hand pump too and the most i could get off with that was 2oz. How are your wedding plans going? I'm yet to start but need to get a move on now. We're planning on Oct 09 and are hoping the Vicar will give us an idea of dates at the Christening. I keep meaning to buy a brides magazine to get some ideas but am always drawn towards the parenting ones for some reason!! Rusty x

Hi again Rusty, Not just me then, i got 1 wedding mag and it was rot and mainly advertising, as i said b4 i am past the blushing bride thing! I keep saying how Sophie is coming away with us for the weekend honeymoon and how that puts a different meaning to the honeymoon baby thing! I just booked for Nov 1st, that will be registry office, and now looking for evening venue. I have seen lovely dress for dd age 5 but cant find things for sophie the same and i wanted the girls to match but not much hope in that so think i will go with what i have seen and improvise on Sophie! I have seen lovely wedding dress but really dont know what size to order, friend suggests size up but i have always got back to size 8 and ordering a 10 seems odd, i suppose it can be taken in that way although i am a 14 now! That is my only dilema really, not looking at too much more, going to have to find caterers, disco and evening venue but all can wait a little while. Going with gold for a theme, cream and gold, the dress i like is 'champange' which to us is dark magnolia! Anyway it all seems a long way off right now, i have lost a stone of the 3 i need to, and until i have i cant really get into it. I know it sounds a bit vain moaning about being what is the average size but i dont carry it well, i am not tall and so size 14 on me looks bigger, plus i am used to being little so find it hard enthusing about things which need me to look at myself! Sophie started really smiling and laughing with me now, its so lovely, i am just waiting for the noise as its a silent laugh she does at the moment, really funny as it looks like shes laughing, just with the sound turned off! She coo's and wrinkles her nose up which is cute, i have not managed once to catch it on camera, dont know how you lot are managing to catch smiles, by the time i take pic she has just got straight face and her eyes closed! Anyway must go, got to look at yummy mummy workout dvd i got last week. Oh and that was cheap for an electric pump, where did you get it? I get the 6-7oz during the course of a day, although i think my milk is increasing a bit now which was what i wanted, just means if i am ot feeding i am pumping!! Take care Pinky xx

Hi Pinky, I got the pump from Boots, it's a Medela one, bit noisy but does the job! We're going for autumn colours for our wedding, I want the bridesmaids in either dark red or gold. Harriet's going to be a flower girl so she'll have a different dress, hoping to find a nice flowery one My mum's making my dress, I hate my arms so i'm hoping she can make one with sleeves with points at the end kinda Maid Marian style(!). Also it'll be a bit cold in October so hopefully keep me a bit warmer Better go make dinner for DF, having a few glasses of wine tonight so Harriet's having some expressed milk later Still haven't done the deed yet, have had 2 periods since giving birth and DP is very worried about getting me pregnant again. Rusty x

jenny, sorry to butt in. my son, jayden was suffering really badly with colic. we tried all other stuff, like dentinox, gripe water ect, but none worked. our doctor prescribed colief. it woked wonders. if you want to try it, get your doctor to prescribe it as it's £9.99 for a 7ml bottle (that's the only size they do!). if you do end up using it, the instructions on how to use it arn't very clear. we spoke to health visitor about it.. you can put it in bottles when you heat it. basically this is what we were doing..... cooled boiled water in bottle, add milk powder and heat as normal. then add the colief drops.
if you need anymore info, please send me a MESSAGE. JO

Hi Rusty, Sounds lovely for Autumn wedding, my sister was married Oct 3rd and it was bloody freezing! I was the short sleeved frozen bridsmaid, many moons ago, she remarried since! I was going to get short sleeves and wear a feathered shoulder thingy, you know what i mean! It is indoors anyway, and not fussing with loads of pics, just a few. You never know with the weather, why it makes no odds on when, you are just as likely to get rain in july or august as any month so may as well make it seasonal, i love autumn and winter weddings, very romantic! Off now, just watching Charlie and the chocolate factory, ahhhh love this film, the kids love it too. Take care and hello everyone else, still so busy i just get the odd snatch of time on here, df discovered ebay (bless!!) so i have to fight him for the laptop, he is in the shower so i took advantage of Sophie having a nap!! Pinky xx

Hi everyone, second time of trying to post, did one earlier and computer decided to play up and lost it!! Jenni - Josh being over 12lb wow you must be feeding him well, i didn't get Aisha weighed this week but she's definitely getting heavier and getting longer in her body. I wouldn't worry about the clicky hip thing a friend of mine's son was the same but he did not have to have any treatment and is totally fine now but i guess its better to get it checked to put yr mind at rest. baby rice - my mum keeps saying that i should try Aisha with some but i'm thinking she's happy with my milk at the moment and is still feeding well so i'll leave it for a while yet but i know that some mums give it earlier with no ill effects Jenny - Jemma is growing well too, I think Aisha must be the smallest out of the lot of the babies bhut i know she's growing so not worried. Sorry not sure about colief and colic i've been fortunate not to go through this i used gripe water for a while but all this did was give aisha horrible nappies so gave up and decided that if she wants to clear her wind she will, if not it comes out the other end like a trumpet, so unladylike Rusty - Keep on with the jobs, like has been said it only takes one to say yes. yes, it was weird for Aisha to be on her back when i had left her on her tummy and now she wriggles when she's on the floor and pushes with her feet but doesn't actually move (so far) Pinky - sounds like you're getting on well with the expressing, I have a avent manual one and have found that if i use it straight after being sterilised so its still warm my milk comes quicker and i can easily do 6oz. I try to do this at least once a day, sometime twice so I know how much she is getting. I know this might seem a silly question but when bf do you use both boobs, i've just started doing this as i thought that because after a while she starts pulling and messing about but when i put her on the other boob she'll feed for another 5-10 mins. I remember my HV saying only to feed one side but now she's getting bigger i'm thinking she'll need both sides now. What do you think? Good luck on the wedding planning both you and Rusty, i've always said i wanted a winter wedding if i ever got married and it would be cream with dark green trimmings, one of my grans sisters married in those colours many, many years ago and i've never forgotten her telling me and it's a colour scheme i just love, just have to get married now I've asked DP to buy me a ring but not really an engagement ring and him being the romantic that he is (not!!) said ok choose what you want and tell me and i'll buy it for you. Will have to wait until May tho because he's off back to his home country on Wednesday for a whole month to visit his family. he's not seen them for nearly 4 yrs and he has special permission from work to take that amount of time off so he's taking the chance now. It's going to be horrible not seeing him and i probably wont be able to speak to him much either as his family live in a small village up in the mountains so mobile phone reception is almost non existent so it'll be emails every day. Pinky - know what you mean about the noises Sophie makes, in the morning now when Aisha wakes up she lays there giggling and cooing to herself and when i've holding her and talking her little mouth is moving but nothing coming out, it's so cute hearing them discover new sounds Re ebay - i wouldn't say i'm an addict but i do buy and sell a bit on there. Today's bargain purchase is a mamas and papas cotbed, obviously second hand and i know some people are a bit iffy about this but money is tight and it looks in really good condition from the photo's. Just need to buy a new mattress. Just waiting for the guy to get back to me so hopefully I can go and fetch it tomorrow. Aisha is rapidly growing out of her moses basket now. Frenchie- hope Reuben is doing well, i bet he's growing really well now missc and kayt - how are you, hope babies are flourishing too. Take care all and hope that this post does not disappear into the ether Bye for now Jane xxx

Hi everyone, Pinky- love the new pictures, have you managed to get a smile yet? Mojo- Jemma looks so cute in her bunny suit Janie- I only use one boob when feeding, although I have occasionally used both if she's been a bit fractious during a feed. That's usually only last thing at night when I think my milk supply is dwindling. Harriet's getting a bit small for her moses basket now too, going to mothercare this weekend to get a new mattress for her cot. Really don't want to put her in it though cos I'm too lazy to get out of bed in the middle of the night Hope you enjoy your last night with your DP. Bet you and Aisha are going to miss him alot, hope you are ok x Hope everyone else and babies are well Rusty x
