Hello all,

Strangely i do miss being pregnant, for the first time out of them all! I find it odd when i felt so ill and was worried all the way through!
I will miss the pregnancy forum but glad to be over here now with other things to discuss!

Missc,
Not sure if i said welcome to the world to your little one? If not then well done and hope things are going well for you Smiler(Grace is lovely name too)

Jane,
I just agree with what others say really, Aisha is healthy and thriving so that all that matters. Nice to have a little baby to cuddle up, wish all mine stayed little for longer, my eldest was born 8lb 5oz and he looked huge, i was pleased the others were smaller so it felt like i had a 'baby' odd i know but thats me!!

Rusty,
I agree that Sophie doesnt really know what the smile is for, i think sometimes she is actually smiling like at her Daddy! The other times they are practice smiles not really aimed at anyone or anything!

katyt
Hello! Henry sounds big, those few weeks really make a difference at this stage, my friend had her baby 10 weeks b4 me and he is just huge, worlds apart from Sophie!!
Bloody computers, we have all been there with the post crashing and dissapearing!

Jenni,
Josh doing well too, have you tried anything for him, i read it was just as normal for babies to go days without a poo as to go in every nappy, if he is really straining and uncomfy perhaps the health visitor or pharmacy could recomend something. Sophie strains lots and i find propping her up on my bed with a pillow she manages to clear out the poop shoot!!!!
I am too lazy to bottle feed, i dread my milk drying up and having to get to grips with bottles so i feed her as much as poss and drink plenty of water, the water really works!

Sleep wise she settles 9ish up 12ish and 3-4ish so not too bad!

Well my bit of news, i got down on one knee last night and popped the question to dp, i did say i may be waiting a long time for him to ask so seeing as it was the one day i could would he marry me, he said of course and i am now on the lookout for a nice 'BIG' engagement ring!!!
I got him a gold chain as he wears a ring i got him ages ago.
So all loved up here, we will set date soon, we said this year and my aim is November, i want to loose weight i have gained with Sophie and i think thats realistic!

Well take care all, hello to anyone i have missed,
have nice weekends!!

Pinky xx

ps jenni, its true what they say about kissing a lot of frogs b4 the prince comes along, you have your little prince with Josh and from experience i can say its just you and him thats important now, and all you need 4 now to! xx

Afternoon,

Thanks for all yr reassurances regarding Aisha's weight, Rusty, in fact the HV did say exactly that what you said, that Asian babies do tend to be born smaller and grow at a slower rate than others so I guess i'm gonna have a little petite lady.

kayt -Henry is growing well can't believe he's grown out of 0-3 already. Aisha is still in some tiny baby stuff and now progressed to some newborn, 0-3 still too big !! Eeker
My sister has just come back from Tenerife and bough me some gorgeous little outfits, can't wait til the summer so she can wear them.

Well, i got a super smile from her this morning and managed to get it on phone, have put picture on MSN.

Jenni - can't believe you posted at 3am !! sorry its not working out with you and yr DP but its better to deal with the issue now so you can get yourself sorted and enjoy life with Josh.

Pinky - Congratulations on yr engagement, that's 2 weddings due this year then Big Grin How brave you are to propose but i guess you knew he'd say yes so congrats again, really pleased for you.

well better go Aisha is screaming for food and don't want the neighbours thinking i'm neglecting her Roll Eyes

have a good weekend and hello to everyone else i've missed
take care
Jane

Hi everyone,

Hope all mummies and babies are well and had a good mother's day. It was very weird as I kept thinking what i wanted to do for my mum and DP's mum and kinda forgot that it was supposed to be my day too. I got a card but asked DP not to get me any flowers as have had so many since Harriet was born, and had some Valentine's day too. Think DP got wrong end of the stick though and didn't get me anything, told him I didn't mean i didn't want any chocolates!!!

Janie- what a lovely smile Smiler

Jenni- sorry to hear about you and Josh's dad, how are you doing?

Pinky- CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

Frenchie- lovely smile from Reuben too Smiler Wow 5 hours sleep, hope i get that soon.

Katy- lol to split personality! What kind of list do you want? Shall i just post the one from pregnancy? Hope everything goes ok tomorrow when your mum leaves Smiler

Harriet has her vaccinations tomorrow which i'm a bit apprehensive about. Luckily DP is on lates so he can come with me, i think i might cry if she screams Frowner

hi all Smiler

jenni - sorry to hear dp still hasn't sorted himself out, any developments or are you still at your mums?

pinky - congratulations!!! Smiler well done youSmiler

frenchie - hi there, 5hrs in a row, woohoo! henry has done that once but from when i put him down for the night, so i went and had dinner, watched tv, etc. so missed out! hoping things will keep improving as i've moved him into his room as of yesterday. meant he could sleep through tom getting up and running around at 6am! and we got breakfast done and me showered before he woke up Smiler

jane - will have a look on the photos in a mo, trying to catch henry's smile but no luck yet! henry is really long, on the 91st centile so i think that's why he's growing out of stuff, he has normal length arms tho!

rusty - silly dp! hope he has got you some chocolates to make up for it? yes the list from the pg thread will be great. good luck with the jabs, don't forget the calpol...
frenchie, reuben must have had his first lot at least?

hi tiggerSmiler

change of plans, my mum still here till tom morning, so i will have bedtime on my own, dh is coming home late, then we are spending the weekend together in london. hoping to go to the natural history museum to see tom's face when he sees the dinosaurs!

have a good one all, ktWink

Hi All,
Just a quick hello, its madness i am on here this time in the morning but Sophie keeps me busy all day and dp hogs computer all night, when he goes for a shower Sophie starts crying!!
So here i am at some crazy hour when i should be sleeping, but dp at work and Sophie fast asleep!

Kt,
What a lovely weekend, sounds like Tom will have a great time xx

Frenchie,
Thanks, i cant wait to be married, til then its more stuff to keep me busy!!
I have been married b4 and although it was not a big do b4 i am not bothered about a big fuss now but dp has not been married and wants the works, i have to comprimise between us both!
For me its how being married made me feel, i did like that and dp is very special so to have it with him will be everything complete for me, i am very lucky!
5 hours was good! we get about 3 sometimes 4 but she settles fast just a quick feed and she is back to sleep so i cant moan! She is a real noisy settler tho, moans and groans, with farting in between, most unlady like!!!

Jane,
Thanks, he hinted earlier in the week i could propose!! my speech was, just as well its leap year as waiting for him to propose i may be waiting a long time!!
Funny you say about the neighbours, Sophie has a really loud cry, they must hear her all the time and think i am a terible mum! she screams for everything!!

Rusty,
Thank you too!
Sophie has her jabs on the 13th! Dp has already said he will go, I will go too, i dont like it but she may find the boob a comfort so i should go. Poor little things, its worse when you cant explain.

Going now, Sophie stiring so think i will shut down and hope she settles back to sleep!

Take care all,

Hope everyone doing well,

Jenni hope things getting better 4u and dp,

New babies/Mummies hope all is well and you getting some sleep!

Bye for now

Pinky xx

Hi everyone,

Harriet didn't have her jabs today as she's only 7 weeks and she needs to be 8 weeks to have them. You'd think they'd have noticed that when they booked me the appointment!! Actually it's cos the dr that does the baby checks is on hols next week and we can just go to the baby clinic for the jabs. All ok at the check up anyway Smiler

Will do list now Smiler

Hello all,

Have just lost 2 posts along with my internet connection - boo.

Will have to make this one shorter as Jemma's due a feed. Spoke too soon on the sleep front, turns out she has noctural tendencies! By day she's calm and feeds well but by night she's screaming and looking for food from around 7pm through to 1/2am. Supplementing with formula at night as my milk just doesn't seem to satisfy her, maybe it's a growth spurt...? Will persevere with b/f but a bit disheartening when she's looking for food and very fractious less than an hour after I've fed her. M/w says we're doing well and Jemma back to her birth weight so that's reassuring.

DH and I like walking zombies most of the time but deliriously happy and enjoying all her wonderful sounds and expressions Big Grin

Congrats Pinky on your happy news, very exciting Big Grin

Glad everyone else is doing well and babies are thriving, very jealous of the 5-hour sleep gang, hope to join you soon. Will post again soon hopefully after I've got some Zzzz and my brain is in gear.... Smiler

Jenny xx

hi all

well 1stly i will tell u what u all want to know...me and DP are on tender hooks still. i have forgiven him BUT he knows i am serious when i say if he doesnt change then me and josh are going. saying that since sat when he came back he has tried to really communicate with josh(helps that josh is now talking away to any1 who wil talk to him lol) altho he has been working late this week so its hard to have propa time 2geva. he still isnt doing nappies or feeds BUT this weekend will b the changing point as the threats will come again. lets hope hey.

anyway had josh weighed and measured and he is now 11lb 7oz!!!! and is 58cms long. the midwife person was very pleased with him and said he is tall and slim. he looks perfect.
is it me or do the baby who are 3months looks huge and really fat?? the other babies who were getting weighed were monsters. honestly they were all just rolls of fats with huge heads to match...will josh go like that?

sleeping is getting better for us and since we put him in his room, sleeping on his belly with hungry babie milk 5oz he will sleep 6HOURS!!! so i feed him at 10-11pm and he will wake between 5-6am but then he will go 4hrs and want a feed and nappie change, then thro the day he gets fed every 3-4hrs. he has quiet bad colic but feeding him more often winding him more seems to help and also he seems to b poohing more now. he also is awake mosta the day too which is kinda hard work as i cant pop off and do lil jobs but atleast i am getting better sleep.

pinky---- congrats to u and DP. well u've had a very eventful year. when are u thinking of tying the knot then? have u got ur ring yet???

question about stretchmarks... i have some very deep and wide ones vwhich are still v painfull. they feel like i had small needles in them that prick me. is this ok?? they just hurt and look awful. what can i do to stop them hurting and get myself back to normal??

mojo- things will get better with the sleeping...u had good days and bad days but once u learn what ur baby likes it will get better. josh can b a pain and demands his dummy sometimes which makes me a zombie for the rest of the day but then his lil smiles always make me happy.

TIGGER- hiya...thank u so much for ur post. yeah i vagely remember talking to u, was along time ago and many sleepless nights away lol. i cant wait till my josh is older and is into everything like ur children. thank u for the compliment about him too...he is gorgeous lol.

kayt-awww the museum idea sounds fantastic... got room for a little one lol.

rusty- when i comes to joshs injections i am trying to get my mum to take him as i know i will cry if he does...i cant stand him being upset. he is a very happy baby normally so if he really crys it brakes my heart

missc- how are u?

hope i havent forgot any1...if i have a big hello.

speak soon.
xxx

Hi everyone,

Pinky- hope your 6 week check goes ok, Harriet screamed when she had her hips checked Frowner Hope Sophie slept better last night.

Jenni- Harriet is one of those fat, big headed babies you saw!! She is on the 91st centile for head circumference and only on the 21st for weight Eeker People think she's older than she is cos she's got such a big head and massive chubby cheeks and a double chin Smiler Then she gradually gets skinnier the further down her body you get.

I have quite a few angry red stretch marks on my lower tummy which are quite itchy at times but not sore. I'm putting palmer's cocoa butter on (when i have time/remember!) which helps.

Mojo- Harriet was the same with feeds at night and still is really. She feeds constantly from about 6pm til 10-11pm, so much so that my breasts feel really empty and she fusses about kicking and scratching me Eeker A couple of times i've given her a bottle of expressed milk that i took earlier in the day which seems to calm her. She has settled down a bit now. Please don't get disheartened if she's back to her a birth weight you are doing really well Smiler

Kt- still no chocolates for me, damn DP!! Hope you had fun at the museum Smiler

Janie/Frenchie/Missc- how are you and your babies getting on?

thanks

Hey monkey
Have you tried tightly swaddling DD-this usually helps-it is normal for them to want to feed all the time at the moment-try cluster feeding in the early evening to try to get a few longer stretches at night time. There is also a growth spurt at around 10 days so it will pass Smiler
