Hello everyone! Firstly anyone who wants to join the msn group must send messages on here as I will deny anyone access who sends me a request to join and I do not know who you are. Even if you send several requests in a row!! Katy- lol at turning off monitor, I have to keep 2 doors shut to stop me from jumping up at the first little noise. She has slept through til 5am since doing that so she obviously wasn't waking up fully before I was just too eager Janie- wow Aisha's having lots of food! I'm going to hold off weaning until we get back from Cornwall in a couple of weeks. She'll be 5 months by then which I think should be ok. I do feel a bit mean as she keeps eyeing up my food Mojo- I saw SATC on Weds too, was brill! Was only about 10 men in the cinema, me and my sister are sad and counted them Harriet HATES being on her tummy and only ever manage a few seconds before she starts screaming and eats the blanket she's lying on I have been persevering but turn her over when she cries so she doesn't get distressed. Pinky- hope you are feeling better How's the biting? I've tried removing Harriet from the breast and looking away and she howls the place down!! It works though cos when she goes back on she doesn't bite.I have also tried extending the time between feeds so she's more hungry and not just snacking. She's still only going 2 and a half hours but it's better than 2!! Hope everyone else is well, gotta go and get some shopping, been so busy lately but I don't know what I've been doing the time just seems to disappear! Rusty x

Rusty, glad you enjoyed SATC, I could see it again. 10 men more than we had, we went to a matinee and there were 8 women including us in total! Re Harriet watching you eat... I asked our HV and she said at this age our babes will watch us do anything as they're fascinated by it, she said any oglings at food in particular don't mean they want to eat it Cornwall sounds nice, I've never been but it's on my list. Hope the weather perks up for you. Katy, good to hear from you. Glad you're all doing well. 13 mile walk sounds good, something I need to give me a boot up the a** to lose some weight T's 2nd birthday sounds like fun too....talking if which, it's my birthday tomorrow, won't mention my age but ut end in a '0'...eek!! Pinky, hope you and Sophie are doing well. Jane, 12lbs 13oz is a good weight, got Jemma weighed yesterday and she's now 13lbs 1oz - her chubby legs are just so gorgeous I could eat them! How's Aisha doing with her purees? No doubt she's sleeping better if she's eating more, do you blend everything and freeze stuff in ice trays in advance? Put Jemma on her tummy again today but she looks so akward poor little thing I feel mean Saw our house again at the w/e and met the vendor, stupid man still insisted on taking bathroom cabinet, all blinds (they don't have any curtains) etc. so we threathened to pull out. Funnily enough he seemed to be more reasonable after that...anyhow we agreed he could take 1 light, all blinds and one shelf...the rest stays!! These things are sent to try us! Hello to everyone else, hope all babies are thriving and we're all getting lots of sleep Jenny xx

Thanks Rusty Had a wonderful day - thoroughly spoilt! Quick question, did you buy special swim nappies for Harriet? I looked at the ones in Mothercare and they didn't have much of a selection. Any recommendations? Thanks Jenny xx

Evening everyone, hope you all enjoyed the sunshine today, long may it continue Jenny - happy belated birthday, hope it was a good one. I'm jealous that you've seen SATC, i was a complete addict to the tv program and they are repeating on one of the digital channels at the moment but i just seem to keep missing them.must make more of an effort. Aisha just now loves her food, she loves sweet potato and cauliflower, all lovingly prepared by me and frozen , she's not so keen on carrot so she just has that occasionally. I do cheat sometimes with the jars if i'm gonna been out and about at lunchtime but get the Hipp organic ones. Again not found anything she doesn't like. Glad you are getting things sorted with yr house move, the vendor sounds a right tight a***!! How pathetic are some people. Rusty - glad Harriet liked her swimming, i go every week now with a friend who's got twins and this week i'd got aisha an inflatable floating seat thing which she loved, just sat there looking round kicking her legs. Jenny - re yr question about swim nappies, to be honest i use the huggies swim nappies which you then just throw away, now i got her swimming costume she looks lovely. Also, i'm very proud of myself as i have just started using the re-useable nappies. A friend of my cousin was selling the whole birth to potty kit for £60 (usually sells for around £300) so i snapped her hand off and today was the first full day using them, think it will take me a bit of time to get the hang of folding etc as had couple of leakages but generally ok. Is anyone else using these? Still using disposable at night as i spoke to lady at clinic yesterday who i spotted was using them and she recommended still disposable at night to avoid baby getting too wet and uncomfortable during the night. Right will go now, i seem incapable of doing short posts Waves to everyone else, hope yr all doing well. Bye for now Jane xxx

Mojo- I've got a swimming costume with an integral swim nappy from boots. It's just got a plastic bit round the bottom. I figure that as hers poos are so runny nothing is going to stop them leaking if she does one, I'll just have to whip her out of the pool!! Luckily she does a funny face when she's just about to do one so have a bit of warning Janie- I'm using disposables although do feel guilty about it Although they save money in the long run I don't really have the money to pay for all the stuff upfront. How the hell does your friend cope swimming with twins??!! I'm guessing they're not babies as I struggled with just me and Harriet! Well I'd better go, I'm looking after my sister's hotel tonight as she's off out. Would be ok but she has the most cantankerous old couple in. They'll have to be patient though cos I'll have Harriet to look after too. Rusty x

Hi Rusty know what you mean about the reuseables, to be honest i would not have been able to have them if i'd not been able to get them from this lady at a bargain price. Re the swimming my friend with the twins is not wonder woman !! She puts one in the creche for half the session while the other has a "swim" then the creche bring the other baby through all ready and take the other back into the creche for the rest of the session. Its like a military operation but it works well. Hope your hotel sitting went well. Have a good weekend Jane

Janie- Think you'd have to do everything as a military operation with twins, don't think I'd cope!! Just had to log on to say that Harriet sat up on her own today, and stayed sat up for about 5 minutes happily chewing her toys! Have got a pic on my phone was so proud!! When my DF walked in she looked up to smile at him and fell over backwards so still a bit of work to do before sitting up proper Am slightly worried that my days of having a static baby are numbered

hi all rusty - well done to harriet yep, the stresses of a moving baby are coming!! How was looking after the hotel? sounds exciting/stressful. well done on the swimming. jane - well done to you on the reusables. i used them a lot with ds1, but have only managed a few days with ds2. i feel doubly guilty cos a) i'm using disposables & b) i spent the money on the washables ! well done on the swimming too. you are doing so well on the food front too! belated happy birthday mojo i am doing a 3k walk tomorrow (anyone know how far in miles that is? prob hardly any!!) as a practice/training thing. going to go with dh & the boys in the buggy as an outing. am just starting to lose some weight, finally, thank goodness. it's slow tho... hope the house thing is working out. hi to everyone else, hope you are all doing ok. we are fine, not getting enough sleep what with H still up once most nights and one or other of them up at dawncrack most mornings! i'm still bfding H, not started weaning here yet, trying to hold out till 6 months so we can do the baby led weaning thing. think we shd make it, at least to 5.5 mo when it shd be ok to start. H still not rolling, which is a good thing in my mind! he rolls halfway over but doesn't even try to go further. he is really smiley and such a chilled baby. just wish he would sleep through! ah well, will happen, i mean it has happened so i know he can do it, just wish it would happen every night!! right, off for a small glass of vino and some ice cream! kt

Looking after the hotel went ok, had 4 people for breakfast on Sunday but only 1 came down. I cooked the bacon and sausages in advance so me and DF had to eat them. What a shame! Harriet rolled over for the first time today! It seems to be a week of firsts this week She's a lot more comfortable on her tummy now she knows she can flick over We went swimming again today and signed up for some classes as tagged along on the toddler one today and it was fun. Only £3 a session so not bad. Oh and she's also managing to put her foot in her mouth so she's sucking on that all day, lovely!! Katy- we're up every night too so can totally sympathize. It's getting to the point where I can't take much more and DF is unwilling to give me a night off as he's been working long hours and is very tired. The main problem is I can't get back to sleep when she wakes me up! And she doesn't always wake for a feed which is annoying Went to DF's parents for Sunday dinner yesterday and all they did was tell me that Harriet needs weaning and that I'm not satisfying her. MIL2B made me feel really inadequate and even gave Harriet a wooden spoon dipped in chicken gravy at one point!! The trouble is a week before my AF my milk supply drops slightly and Harriet gets a bit restless which she was doing yesterday. Nobody would listen to my explanation though and just told me she needs baby rice now. Think I'm going to start next week anyway but they made me feel like I'm starving her!! Better go make dinner, waves to everyone x

Hi to all Rusty - wow Harriet is really coming along bet you are so proud. Aisha can sit up for a few seconds but then topples to one side and she's not found her feet yet tho i've noticed that she's lifting her legs higher so i guess its just a matter of time. I forgot to tell you all last week that when i was a clinic last Wednesday there was a little boy who is only 2 wks older than Aisha and he was crawling oh my god he was like a little ferret off round the room so quick his mum had a job keeping a watch on him. Kayt - hope the walk went ok, well done on the weight loss, i wish mine would shift, i even resorted to buying salad stuff at the weekend and i can't stand it so desperate measures now. Glad i'm not the only one (in a nice way of course ) who's baby still does not sleep through. She is much better than she was but still wakes up at least once a night needing a feed. Spoke to HV about it and she said that even tho she's having food during the day she is still needing the milk so to carry on. I was beginning to think the waking was a habit but now i know she wants the milk i'm ok with it but still every tiring nonetheless. Rusty - i sympathise with you regarding yr inlaws to be making comments about weaning. My mum and sister were the same and it really got me down at the time making me think i was doing wrong by not giving her food then and that she was starving, which of course i know she wasn't. I know i was still early starting the food but still within the guidelines. Don't feel pressured as you'll know when the time is right and if she doesn't like the rice when you give it to her then she's obviously not ready. Also, Rusty you mentioned that yr milk supply drops slightly with yr AF. Well i had my first AF this weekend since aisha was about 4 wks old and i noticed that for a couple of days she seemed to be struggling to get anything from one side, the other was ok but i've found the same with expressing, from what you said i wonder if its connected or not? I was getting used to not having AF so not sure why its decided to come back now. Hi to everyone else, hope you all had a good weekend and babies are being good and enjoying the sunshine. bye for now Jane xx

hi all. sorry i havent been on in ages. will promise to come on more often. erm update on josh. he's weaned and now eats hipps jars(only half for dinner) and 2 rusks and alil fruit purree at 6pm. josh is just a monster and last time i weighed him he was 18lb 6oz. he's just getting too tall for 3-6months clothes and is now in afew 6-9month vests and baby grows altho they are too big its better than too small. josh has just started playing with my mates baby who has just turned 7month, there isnt much difference in size lengh ways. it scares me alil on how tall he is but he's not skinny and no way a fatty so i guess he is just always gona be like that(bearing in mind i'm 5''9 and my bro is 6''6 now i think ) i got a fee;ing this lil man is gona cost me afortune in clothes etc. bed time is still a issue as last night he did really well and slept til 7am from 10:30 BUT other nights he will wake every half hour for his dummy. he has had a bad cold tho and i'm now becoming a expert on trying to fish out big fat snots from his noise lol ewww. how is every1 else doing?? hopeu are all doing very well. jen and josh

rusty - bet you both enjoyed the bacon and sausages well done harriet for rolling!! the messed up sleep thing does get wearing after a while doesn't it? h up at 2 for a feed, then t up at 5 for no reason, told him to go back to bed and he did which was great, until 6.30, but he had woken h so downstairs with him till 6 then back up with tea and wait for t. i can get back to sleep at the mo thank goodness but some nights i can't get comfortable and it drives me mad! ignore those IL2b!!! you know what's best for your baby! tho watch out for harriet hating the baby rice, it does taste foul! jane - can you imagine having a crawler already?! my goodness. walk, well, t got fed up so we came home early, but at least i did some. went for a 2mile walk today with a hv who organises a weekly thing, must get organised to go every week. i don't do myself any favours when i go for the chocolate binges i seem to like jenni - sounds like josh loves his food! think h is about 16lbs now, but he is long, in some 9-12 babygros, but he has short/normal arms so the sleeves are all too long think you will have a tall one! re cervix problems, omg they really should have spotted all that before! and when the coil was fitted! at least it has been spotted now before you got pg again and poss had problems. so sorry to hear about it tho. when will you see gynae/have you seen her already? not heard of the same problems but i know people can have a stitch put in their cervix to 'keep it shut' when pg to keep the baby safe. sure there is someone on the due in july thread with this??? here - no real news, dh back in a mo and we're having curry delivery, yey waves to everyone else
