Hello all,

Wow we are here at last!

Sophie asleep so just a quick one as she seems to want to be held constantly or screams, it is all attention, nothing actually wrong just needs to be admired constantly, just like her dad then!!
Hope to post more pics soon as she has changed so much from newborn, daddy had his first smile the other day since then has 2 more, i not had a smile, i only look after her though, daddy is the fun one!!

Must go, breakfast, hovering, cleaning up, washing up, washing and the rest of it calls!!

Love to all,

Pinky xx

Hi Jilli,

Harriet seems to be taking the bottle really well so i'm very pleased Smiler The pumping is getting a bit tedious, i pump about 3-4 times a day and only get about 3-4oz, all i seem to be doing is breast feeding or pumping! I'm thinking of getting an electric pump to see if that makes things easier. How are things with you? Hope you and Conner are well x

Thanks for the welcome Summer and Kelly x

Pinky- Sophie sounds just like Harriet, attention seekers! She lights up when her daddy comes home and i'm the one doing all the hard work Frowner Think i'm just the source of food for her. I thought babies looked at you when they breast fed but she just closes her eyes or looks at my armpit!! Definitely going to be a daddy's girl Roll Eyes

Congratulations Missc! Hope all is going well with you and baby Grace, hope you can pop on soon and tell us how it went Smiler

Rusty, I will suggest an electric pump for you, it makes things soo much easier and less time consuming also. I have a medela double pump and absolutely love it! I just turn the pump on, put my nipples in the middle of the horns and let the machine pump for 10 minutes. Both (.)(.)'s get done and it is quick and easy. I just watch T.V. when I am at home and the time goes by really fast. It will get easier the longer you do it. I actually have about one week left before I can dry up! I have almost enough frozen milk to last until Conner turns one on April 12th, then he will go on cow's milk. I have dropped a pumping session and can really see that my supply has dropped. Best of luck for you babe! Keep pumping and breastfeeding!!! Sending you lots of will power~*~*~*~.

hi all,
Said my goodbyes to the pregnancy forum!!
Sophie actually smiled for me today, i say for and not at as she looked away as she smiled!
Rusty, Its funny about the looking at you when feeding, i will be feeding, watching tv, i look down and see these big blue eyes staring at me! So sweet!!
Well must catch up on emails etc,
Take care all,

Pinky x x

ps am i the only one trying to get milky bogies out my babies nose?!! she sounded all snuffly so i, very gently have managed with a bit of tissue to get some yuck out, she is much happier now, can suck her dummy without being all snuffled! yuck, what a job!!

Evening everyone,

Congrats to missc on birth of Grace, hope it all went well.

Is it me or does anyone else feel a bit sad leaving the pregnancy forum? Pinky - noticed yr post with thanks on it.
Anyway, welcome all to the parenting one.

Not much to report from me apart from Aisha's weight. HV came this week and she only put on 2 and half ounces (last wk only 1 and half oz) so her weight is now 7lb 12 ozs which means she's not even put on 2lb yet from birth. HV did not seem unduly concerned but noted that I was a bit worried even tho she is feeding really well, if I express she can sometimes take over 4-5oz from the bottle in one feed so I'm estimating that is what she takes from me so definitely no shortage of milk.
HV said Aisha was alert and very attentive so definitely nothing wrong with her, she is just a slow grower. Roll Eyes
Weigh again in 2 wks so hopefully she will pick up a bit by then.

Rusty - well done on the pumping, I find that some days I can get over 4oz but other days struggle to get 2oz out but I try to pump once each day if I can to make sure my milk is plentiful but congrats on managing it 3-4 times.
When DP was here last week i expressed and he fell about laughing. He told me, in the nicest way of course Big Grin that I looked like a cow being milked!!!!

Pinky - Aisha has just started smiling and it melts my heart, she looks so gorgeous, I know what you mean about when feeding and she looks up with her big brown eyes, such love there, also she's started making little sounds and not just grunts and snuffles, it's lovely.
Bogies - know exactly where yr coming from, Aisha has had a little cold that she caught from me and each morning she was bunged up so manage to clear them out with tip of cotton bud. The things we do for them!!

Greetings to all and thanks to the other ladies that have welcomed us to parenting.

Good night
Jane

Jane, I was also worried about Conner's weight. He weighed 6lb 6oz and he is finally up to 16lb .05oz now after 10 1/2 months. He is definitely a slow grower but he eats pretty good for the most part. I was always more concerned with his weight than his doc was. Even now, he is low on the charts as most kids his age are up to 20lbs by now. Each kid grows at their own pace and Aisha seems to be eating enough and developing well by the way you talk about her. You are doing great!

Jilli- think i will definitely try an electric pump as i think it'll be more efficient than me! Thanks for the will power, i need it at the moment, although did manage to get 2oz off one boob this afternoon, woohoo!! Will you be relieved to stop pumping? Bet you'll have more time on your hands though Smiler

Pinky- Harriet's been smiling for a few days now but sometimes she beams then immediately bursts into tears Confused Not sure she actually knows what the smile! She does big beamers for her daddy though.

When Harriet had a cold a couple of weeks ago i'd regularily find bogies on my boob after she'd fed Eeker

Janie- Sounds like Aisha's thriving so wouldn't be too concerned about the weight gain. I also thought Asian babies were smaller and put on weight more slowly so it may just be normal for her? Harriet's 9lb 5oz now but carrying it all in her cheeks so looks like a hamster! Has dead skinny legs though, hoping they'll catch up soon Smiler

My DP also laughs at me pumping, can't understand why on earth he finds me attractive anymore?!!

hi all, welcome to parentingSmiler
[will i turn into a split personality being on 2 threads at once??!]

did a massive post the other day on pg thread and laptop crashed, grrr.

congrats to missc & welcome to baby Grace Smiler

can we have a list on here?

bogies on nose, yup, and on breast pad in the morning, nice.

jane - sounds like aisha is doing fine for her. those weight gain charts are based on american babies who are wholly bottlefed or something like that. just count yourself lucky that your hv is sensible and doesn't freak out and put pressure on you to do something different to up her weight gain.

henry is doing well, 11.2 this week Smiler outgrown all newborn & 0-3 stuff, and even wearing some 6-9 sleepsuits!

have my mum here till next tues, then i'm on my own during the week with the 2 of them. will see how it goes. was hoping that H would be sleeping more by the time i was on my own and last night from 8pm-7am he only had 3 feeds so we are getting there. trying to get him into crib on his own upstairs by 8ish every night. (saying that he is asleep on the sofa next to me right now so must put him up soon).

right, going to try and post before thing crashes again, keep well all, ktSmiler

hiya all.

well we are all on parenting thread now Big Grin

congrats to missc on grace!!!!! well done xxx

me and DP arnt doing well at mo and not sure we will last long. sad to say but he is a hopeless dad and hardly does a thing...he has only ever changed him once!!! i thought things wud get better but they dont seem to of...will have a huge chat to him in morning. last 2noghts me and josh have slept at my mumsas i want DP to know i am serious.

josh has really bad colic...is it a bottle feeding thing??? he is such a good baby and yes he smiles and gurgles BUT he gets so upset if he pumps and he has struggled all day trying to pooh but nothing...hope day three brings a poohy nappie.

Jane- gosh josh is 5weeks and last thurs he weighed 10lb 8oz. so he since birth in 3 week he has put on quiet alot and is now in 0-3months. i cant imagen josh being as small as aisha...i feel like i am weight lifting with josh lol.

katyt- i'm hopeing josh will sleep thro soon and i have just started putting him in his cot in his room as he is quiet tall and doesnt fit well in his m/basket/ i have found that he sleeps better on my bed... try not to get in habbit of putting him in bed with me but sometimes i am so desperate fr sleep i give in. i feed him at 3-4am then 7-8am on 5oz bottles altho i mite try himon 6oz at night.

Pinky- i read ur thread on preg site...put a tear to my eye. i still wish i breast feed. still get hung up about it but when i read what u write about always feeding etc i am glad i dont.

rusty- hows u and fam?

hi every1 else...sorry if i have left any1 out...it is 3am and i m lacking sleep lol

take care xxx
