hi my little boy also has eczema,i was prescribed doublebase and also tryed e45 unfortunateley they didnt do anything so we are now using diprobase emoilent and hydrocautizone(sorry cant spell it)when it gets quite bad. ciaran also had it in his hair and i found doublebase did actually work for that and it has never come back there, come to think of it,[] i was also advised not to put anything in his bath.

My son had excema when he was tiny. I got Diprobase on prescription and also bath oil and shampoo which helped. Basically, give whatever you can get from your Dr a go and keep trying. The bath oil (not bubble bath I'm afraid) was awful because I had to clean the bath every time - leaves a ring - but it's worth it for their sake! The good news is that my lo and all his mates who got excema when they were young have since grown out of it!
Good luck[]and don't panic - you notice it more than they do!

I too use Oilatum for my children...but you can get it on prescription. We also use aquais cream and other stronger creams for when it gets really bad. All of which you can get prescribed for free! When my DD get it's bad on her legs I put her in tights so she can't get to it and scratch it so much. If you can stop them scratching it you're half-way there!
Take care, Sarah x
