I haven't got one but have heard they are good - provided you don't mind the child behind being close to the ground.

I've got the Jane Powertwin as it was an absolute steal (ex display for £199), not used it yet as baby not born yet but I'm pleased with it. Its a bit on the heavy side but as its a tandem its as narrow as a normal pushchair.

I know what you mean about the side by side buggies. I found them really wide and didn't like then at all!

personally I find the idea of tot being so close to the ground a bit scary to be honest - and I've seen them in the playground and they look really flimsy to me....but I do really like my maclaren side by side that i used for childminding - it goes through every door in my experience with no hassle and its really easy to push and folds umbrella style so fits in the boot lovely! Costs £120 from kiddicare.com - I wouldn't have any other! The tandem ones are good too for width but in my experience alot heavier than the maclaren

I had a graco duosport for my daughters, and found it light weight & it would go through most doorways. It also has one-hand fold which i found invaluable! It was also only about £120, which was great!

Hello Smiler
I've never liked the idea of one child being under the other... Daisy would have hated being underneath and I can't see either of the boys being too chuffed either.

A side by side that you should look at is the Nipper 360. It looks really light and all the twin mummies I know who've got one think they're brill.

I've said it before, but for me... the Mountain Buggy Urban double is just fantastic and I'd buy the same again if I ever needed to for some reason. There isn't a door I haven't made it through and it turns with one finger. I can text/hold an umbrella and push the boys and Daisy (on the buggyboard or sitting on the front) onehanded up a hill Big Grin
The only downside is the price!

hi loocy

i have a 2 year old and a 3 month old and after lots of 'test drives' of various different double buggies we bought the phil and teds.

the thing that swung it for me is that it's basically just the same size as a normal 3 wheeler pushchair. the doubles i tried were either too wide or if they were narrow there wasn't enough room for DS1, plus i didn't want him disturbing his sister (as he does when they're in a trolly in asda - it's a nightmare.).

the tandems were too long and heavy and another thing about the phil and teds that i liked is that it converts into a single pushchair once your older child is ok walking everywhere, which i think will soon be the case for us. so in that respect it's good value for money. Fits in the boot fine too.

why dont you pop to your local mothercare and test out a few buggies? see what your DD and DS are happiest in and what you find is best for you?

Loccy

I have to say I hated three wheelers but also have the phil & teds, Karly checked them out after i mentioned mine on the pregnancy thread & i have to say mines fab it is heavy but Joel & Lucy love it & I know I wont need to buy another pushchair so will get value for money please don't buy from stores like mothercare as you can get them cheaper of ebay or online i know i saved about £350 buying mine off ebay LOL...

I hope this helps
