Forgot to say... I was naughty last night.. got her to be settled - but it was by letting her cuddle up to me in bed (bad mummy!) So it confirms my thought that she just wants comforting... she also had an awake time and was just sat there kicking about for 10 mins before she fell asleep

Not sure what to do about it all... think she is a bit young to try and force her to comfort herself, suppose I will just have to stick it out for a bit longer?!

Just had to pop on and say what beautiful babies!
Congrats to you all!

Peanut:I quite often cuddled Katie to sleep the first few weeks as we were both exhausted, she because she wouldnt settle and me because of a c-s infection.
Sometimes putting her to bed and sometimes leaving her in my arms while happy. It hasnt made her getting into a routine any harder. Last 4 nights shes been through 7 or 8 hrs. and her daytime routine is perfect also, into bed no problems. Hope you dont mind my 2 cents worth there, just wanted to share that with you and hope it helps ease your mind about whether to comfort her or not.
congrats on Emily! I meant to get on here sooner but time is short now-a-days, any spare is spent cleaning or playing/holding/talking with her..or just gazing at her, no wonder I get little done lol.
again hope you dont mind my butting in
xx

Hey Lorraine, thanks for the congrats Big Grin Have seen you around, you are a stalker like me! Wink

Jelly - Emily seemed a little more settled over night... she had her three hours of fun but after that settled herself really well I think...
Yay to Josh putting on the weight - did he lose in the first week? How much? Emily lost 5oz.... can't wait to see what she weighs next time!

Hey faiza.... Smiler She is gorgeous isn't she?! I am biased, but I don't care!! Big Grin

Vicki, thanks for that - I thought for some reason it was naughty to do that...but she just seems to need it sometimes... well didn't do it last night, but did this morning - we like it after her first 'normal time' feed to bring her in for a cuddle Big Grin

Hi all,

Thanks for all the congrats everyone, I really love my girls!!!!!!!

Infacol is working well, but been advised to give it every 4 hours, Meryn feeds every 3, so can give her half doses if needed. Meryn had a bit of awake time last night and only settling when on me, I would'nt worry about it peanut as they are still only very young, go with what works for you.

Meryn was weighed and has put on, she was 8lbs 1oz when born and weighed 8lbs 4oz when she was weighed around sunday I think!!! (Tiredness kicking in now)

Need to feed, boobs tingling and feeling rather full, Meryns last feed was at 9.15am so I need to feed now!!!!! Wake up!!!!!!!!!!

Course you can!! Big Grin

Emily is having a growth spurt Frowner I thought they didn't have one until 6 weeks! My god is it draining feeding all the time!
Got some nipple shields to try and protect my poor shredded nipples!

Not sure how long I will be able to keep breastfeeding at this rate.... ho hum... at least I am giving it a go like I said I would Smiler

Hi ladies

Firstly congrats to you all - the pics of the babies are gorgeous so well done everyone.

Secondly, Peanut - alledgely the first growth spurt is around ten days so Emily is right on target!!! Just hang in there with the breast feeding - your body will adjust in a day or two and putting her to the boob whenever she wants will help to establish a good supply. I know it's draining (to say nothing of painful sometimes) so just sit on the sofa and let everyone run around after you.

Have fun everyone - it passes so quick - I can't believe that Darcey is nearly 6 months already - it doesn't seem five minutes since she was a few weeks old too.

Lots of love
Ali
