The important thing is to isolate yourself at home until you have been symptom free for 48hours. It is dead easy to catch, particularly for vulnerable people (children, older people and ill people) so don't share it with your friends!!
Keep washing those hands

We had it a few weeks back, Chloe (4) was sick and had a bad tummy, then a couple of days later Adam (7) had the runs all day and a bad tummy, followed by Kieran (1) and then DH and last of all me who had the runs for 3 days!! hope thats it now and out of the way! My friends boys had it a week before Christmas as I know others who had it too!
I have a fear of sick and hearing the story on the news really has scared me.
Lets hope people do as suggested and stay put if they have it.
Love Lorraine. xx

The schools went back today and I saw my mate in the playground her daughter has it and is usually in Adams class. She is off today, and her younger sister is in Chloe's class, hope she not got it and then my lot ill again, I just can't cope with it! I have a really bad Phobia of sick and at the moment this is like hell for me, I have barely gone out for fear that we will get ill. Sad arent I, but the fear is that bad! I am having therapy for it, but so far I am no better for it.
Getting upset have to go sorry!

I am the same! Well not exactly phobic but I can't deal with it. DP wasn't well a few months ago (after drinking, but in his defence it's only happened once in the years I've known him) I wouldn't sleep in the same bed. I am now terrified whenever he goes out the same will happen, it's the thought of it more than anything else. When my little girl's not well I pass her the bin and stand at the door armed with dettol spray....haha how caring am I!
Honestly I think I've got OCD about handwashing too, I do it at least twice an hour...and I'm encouraging my DD to do the same. Especially when she's at school. Does anyone else?!

I have been diagnosed with OCD (sobs) and it is really bad at the moment with the bugs about. I wash my hands about 8 times an hour! I have set things that I do and things have to be in set orders. I am having treatment, but I don't tell people usually as they might think I am mental and I am not. the fear of sick is so bad that I feel unable to take on my daily tasks.

I don't think you're mental! I think everyone has OCD to some extent; some people are just worse than others. I hope your treatment's helping you.
I understand how you feel about the sickness thing completely...I get a chill in my spine whenever anyone near me mentions feeling remotely unwell - but I just make sure everyone and everything's clean in my house etc. Most of this stuff's preventable anyway.

I am glad that you understand me, I worry about what people think of me! I agree some things can be prevented and I am sure if people took notice of the things they were told like on the news about staying home and stuff the bug would not be spreading so badly. But sadl people just ignor that and sed kids back to school when not better and go back to work etc. I am always washing and cleaning and trying to stay away from anyone who is ill, been ill, or looks ill. I am going to the hospital today to my OCD course and I think I may have to have a word with them, I am in such a tiss I am really finding every day so hard. If I knew there was less sickness about I would be ok. I am due on today and my emotions are awaful, I feel I will cry at any minute. Some have said to me, well if you get sick you get sick and if the kids are ill just deal with it, but its not that easy and if I can prevent them and me getting ill then I will do it whatever it takes. I even hate the kids being at school incase they get a sick bug. But I know that they have to go and I know that they need to be with other kids.
Lets hope that the bug subsides now and people stop getting ill. The way I feel today I think I should be in the nut house! LOL Love Lorraine. xx

I think a lot of it is scaremongering in the media; I don't doubt that it's prevalent, but it's around every year (especially on cruise ships it seems )
It actually only affects about 1.7% of the total population - and even that is just based on estimates!
At least your nuthouse would be clean Lorraine
