Glad to see more new peeps like me[Big Grin]

dwardysmith - my you do have you hands full!! Is the eldest in school yet? Hey good luck with thw TTC after monday!

touchwood - hope everything goes well for you on the7th and you get your answers.

Babyusa - Hope everything is going well for you, what is you plan for after the birth for BC?

Tamarisk - I've have had merina for 6 yrs now but I was told to change it after 4 cause my periods had started back and I get crippling cramps so it was the hormones I needed, I think it all depend on the person but it sound like what I had then so you should be back to normal AF quite soon as you'll not have lots of hormone in your body [Smiler]

Insomniac - Glad to hear you've not had problems in the past, I think you'll not have any TTC this time. It seems to be those that have then to have to wait a little longer than those that have had none so I'm sure baby No.4 will be with you very soon.

Thanks t7tigger for that.
Sounds like you've had a lot of conflicting advice from the doctors.
I don't think they can say for sure how long it'll take to conceive after merina removed. Really depends on the individual.Whereabouts in Scotland are u moving to?
Touchwood, hope that all goes well for u with the gyne in Feb. You've been on this thread from the beginning - did you start it off?
Dwardysmith you and I have 3 boys in common and I see both you and Tamarisk are about to have merina's removed to ttc. It's so exciting isn't it, but I know what you mean Tamarisk about period watching, temps and tests after so many years without AF's! Are you girls going to wait for for couple of cycles or try asap?[?]
Baby USA good luck for Sept- never say never again!! You'll be surprised how you can forget the nausea etc when you're feeling broody again![:0]

Good luck girls[Smiler]

Hi all

Have been reading some of the posts on other threads/sites and some seem to suggest that you should wait one full cycle before ttc as hormones may still be in your systenm straight after removal.

I asked my nurse about it last week and she said that you should be fine to start trying straight away. Given I've had mine in for so long I figure I'm probably ok anyway! I think that I'm a bit too impatient to wait!!!!

I'll ask the doc though when I go and have it taken out on Friday.

Tamarisk - I was told that I could TTC straight away and I conceived within 1 month.

Unfortunately everyone says different things.

Insomniac - Yes I did start this thread off. There were about four of us all ttc at the start and had all had merinas removed. The good news is that I think I am the only one left waiting. JayJay, J and I think there was Bubbly at the begining. We had all been given different advice and none of us really knew what our future held. At least in here we can chat about our fears and concerns and vent our frustrations at what advice we are given by our so called "Health advisors"!

Feel free to ask anything as usually there is someone about that knows the answer.

And of course everyone is welcome on the 2ww (two week wait)string we used to move betweent the ttc and the 2ww but a few of us staged a sit in on the 2ww and now I think most people stay on it. A bit like a big waiting room.

Hi everyone,

Just wondering if anyones tried the Clearblue Fertility Monitor?
Unlike OPK's which can only show an LH surge indicating ovalution days, this monitor also picks up on your oestrogen levels. This means it builds up a profile of your monthly cycle telling you exactly when you have low, high or peak fertility times.
Bought one today at Boots after friend recommended it.
Is very expensive though 99 for monitor and you buy the Test Sticks separately. 20 test sticks for 2 cycles of use @ 19.99.
Have heard of girls selling similar tests on ebay - presumably after they've had some success!!
If anyones tried it before, could they drop a line.
On another topic, isn't it great to see Chantelle win Big Bro.
OOHHH MY GOD!!! OOOH MY GOD!!! OOH MY GOD DON'T BELIEVE IT.
IT'S JUST WOWSER!!!
Really wanted her and Preston to declare their undying love and elope together!!
He's sooo cute!!
MY HORMONES ARE RAGING!!!

Elaine

Hi again,

Touchwood, just read your note.
So much thanks for starting up this thread. It's great news that the other girls that started it with you are expecting now.Just you hang on in there hun. It's happened for you in the past so should happen again. Read through so much of this thread...spent hours reading up on everyones stories, so I know you've had a really hard time with the mc's and everything. Chin up though girl, your gyne may have some answers for you.
Will definitely join the 2ww thread just as soon as I've had a proper cycle and can start TTC. Bring on the BD - DH won't know what's hit him!!

Hi Girls just thought I'd check how your all getting on.

Insomniac - I'm noving back to the Stirlingshire area, DH is staying with his parent just now and I am putting the house on the market hopefully on Monday when the estate agent have been round this week.

Strange how things come into conversation my boss at work is getting married in June and he was saying him and his otherhalf are TTC, she's 24 and he's at a guess 37. He's 2 kids from hes previous marriage and got the snip so got it reversed on the 2nd Jan and has been given a 15% chance due to complications. Just wondered if anyone else has been through similar or has any useful info I could offer to them.

hi there everyone,[Smiler] im new to this thread, was on another one about the merina coil before.
so let me introduce myself:
ME (claire): 26
DH : 27
DD : 8
DD : 13 mths

i had my merina fitted in march 05 (11 Wks after having my 2nd baby) and i had no probs with at all until oct 05. i had funny periods then started having really bad abdominal pain, was back & forward to the doctors, and finally she agreed that maybe i should have it removed, to see if it was that that was causing me pain!
so i had it removed[Big Grin] on jan 20th and i have felt a whole lot better since.[Big Grin] i actually have a sex drive!!![Wink] husband it very pleased about that!!!!
since having it removed we've not been using any protection, i was told when i had it removed to use condoms and to go back to see them in a month b/c the doc didnt want me to put anymore hormones into my body, just give it a bit of a rest!
i dont know what to do when this month is up? we are not purposely TTC but if it happens we would be so happy, after reading all the other posts, it makes you wonder!! we would love to have another baby so my head is buzzing with what to do!!
should i go back on the pill or should we just not bother & see how long it would take before we do fall PG?
any advice would be great.
hope everyone on this thread is fine.

babydust to all xxxx
(am i able to say that seeing im new here!) [Wink]

Claire - Anyone is welcome to spread babydust - the more the better.

I think only you and your DH can make the decision as to whether you want another child, you both sound quite cool about it.

You are more than welcome to hang out on here. We also post on the 2ww (two week wait) thread which kind of took over from the ttc thread so if you decide to ttc come and join us.

Good luck with your decision making.

Hi all

Had my coil taken out on Friday - very little pain (well nothing a couple of Ibuprofen couldn't sort out!). Having read all the other posts on the other mirena threads I was expecting to have some kind of bleed straight away - but I've had absolutley zilch, not even any spotting. Was is the same for any of you?

Now that it's out I was all ready to get down to some serious BD'ing but just my luck, my DH has got some kind of viral sickness bug - spent the whole night looking after him!!! Typical

Anyway, hope you are all well.

Tamarisk
xx

hi tamarisk

glad to hear you got the dreaded[}Smiler] merina coil out!!!

bet you feel a whole lot better for having out.[Smiler]

my experience wasnt the best when having it removed but hey its out now! [Big Grin]

i had been spotting for a couple of days befrore removal then i had about maybe 4-5 days of bleeding afterwards.
i did get a little worried at first because it seemed to look like big clots at first, but then it changed to being just like a light period.

maybe you wont bleed until your next period is due, hey im know doctor, but i hope this might help!

i take it that you are ttc? poor you all ready to do some BDing and then having to end up looking after your DH.

take care
claire
