Hello all,

Well I got my positive OPK and I expected this morning to get a temp increase but it didn't happen[?] My ovaries still ache a little but I now have creamy cm. So I am a little confused I guess I need to wait until tomorrow to see what my temps do. Only a quick post as we are about to go out to a BBQ and my DS is getting niggly.

Will catch up on everyone later.

Hi Touchwood

From what I have read a +OPK means you will OV within the next 12-48 hours so you probably will get a temp rise tomorrow. I have just bought some POAS OPKs off ebay, only bought 10 just to see how I go might get some more if nothing this month. Hopefully with the OPKs and my new BBT thermometer I might hit the jackpot this month.
It is good to hear from some women who have gotten PG after merina, I have come yo the conclusion that it takes at least 6 months to get back to normal after it so another 2 months and I should be OK.
Hope you have a lovely weekend

Hi All,
My partner found this site after my period came this morning and he was gutted, i have a couple of months ago had the merina removed and didnt think i had any side effects at all now i think i may of done as i was very moody and always very tired, those have since stopped, since having it removed we have been trying for a baby, my doctor warned me that without another form of contraception i could get pregnant straight away-she never mentioned a time frame in which i would not-i started spotting on a regular basis straight away and have today started my first full blown period-my partner sees that as a defeat that i am not pregnant but i see it as a positive after reading all your postings that there must be something going on in there-I have told him that from now on he cant smoke or drink plenty folic acid, fruit and veg and hopefully we wont need more than that. I have 2 healthy children and got pregnant whilst on the pill with both. So heres hoping.

Good Luck to all

Cheshire Lady,

Welcome. As you can see from my earlier posts I did have a lot of problems the merina. That is not to say that it does not suit everyone as some people love it. As you can see from this site that ladies have conceived after the merina. Please try not to worry especially so early in your TTC days! It can take a young, healthy fertile woman anything upto 8 months to conceive so tell your hubby not to stress! Unfortunately we spend most of our lives trying not to and the small time that we want to we can't!!. Please feel free to join in any of our chats all the ladies are very friendly very helpful but most importantly very supportive. [Big Grin]

I am CD 16 so will be moving over on to the 2WW.

Hope you are well Jay Jay will post with update tomorrow as it's getting late.

JayJay and Cheshire Lady,

Well I did stir something up when I started this string we've even got people being humourous[Big Grin] That's good as mine was a little lost whilst I had the merina in place!!! I like a little chuckle when I read the posts. Cheshire Lady if your DH is reading them he may well get a little more than he bargins for, sometimes there is too much information (tmi) going on [:0] but of course he is welcome to post his points of view as well. My dh just thinks I'm trying to take over the world from our spare room [8D]. I have posted my temp chart on the 2ww string for people to comment on. I don't have a great deal to report really.

i have been reading the site over and over again as we have been trying but getting nowhere. not sure if she has said anything but i want to have a child so much that is driving me in sane. have even started to think there is more wrong. silly i know but when we want something so much it just plays in the back of my mind, even spent last night looking on the net to see if i was producing enough sperm.
god now i sound strange, i have read the site many times and still cant get my head arround things about how long it could take after the coil has been removed and if that is the cause to all the heart ache and arguments.... I have been told to quit smoking in aid to help us which im willing to do as i know this will helpbut its hard when im getting so stressed out lol.sorry to sound silly

many thanks and i hope this make sence to someone

Dear Cheshireladies other half,

If you go on the Merina web site I have copied a link to below:

http://www.mirena.com/html/is_the_ius_right_for_me/i_ma..._children/index.html

They say that fertility returns straight away. Somewhere on there site (but couldn't find it just now but it is on there because I copied for someone else!) it even tells you that if you are having it removed and are not planning to get pg to use condoms before removal as the swimmers can hang around for a while. Also from person experience I conceived two cycles after having my coil removed last time so I am sure that there is nothing to worry about there.

DO NOT STRESS - This not only winds you up, but will also wind Cheshirelady up and we ladies do not like being stressed when we are TTC - can't comment on how stress effects swimmers but it definately effects us ladies so stop it now!!!!

If you have a browse on the trying to conceive sites most of them say that it can take anything up to 12 to conceive. Like I said in an earlier post we spend most of our lives trying not to get pregnant and then when we want to it seems to take forever [Frowner].

Is Cheshirelady doing her temps? Is she watching her CM? Is she doing OPK's. Do you wear boxers or pants? Boxers are apparently better for swimmers as it keeps them at a better temp.

Can't think of anything else at the moment but will have a think about what other advice I can give over my tea!

Hi everyone,

My my isn't it quiet everywhere. None of the strings have much going on.

JayJay - How is it going for you at the moment? What CD are you on? My chart now has a dotted cover line for some reason it says I have conflicting fertility signs. WHAT?????

Just going to add todays temp and see what happens. Catch you later.

Hi All

I'm delighted, but really rather shocked to tell you that we've just found out I'm pregnant. I only had the Mirena out on 13th July [Big Grin]

Last Friday we went back to the Docs for the results of bloodtests (done because I'd been told that my hot flushes were prob not due to the Mirena but due to an early menopause). I was fully expecting to be told that we couldn't have kids. Luckily, they told us that my oestragen levels were back up to normal. Hoorah, I thought, until hubby decided that meant we should wait before trying properly...

My period was due on Tuesday, but didn't arrive, so I did a test on Thursday. Thank God I bought a digital one. It came out positive. So did the second one I did that same night. On Friday morning I did another (not sure I was sceptical, or so tight that I couldn't bear to waste the 3rd test from the pack of 3). It came out negative. AARGH. Went straight off to the NHS Walk in Centre before work. The first test they did looked negative for ages (or it felt like ages) and then a tiny line appeared. The lovely nurse went off to get a different kind of test, and after another agonising wait that finally came up with a line!!! I can't believe that I managed to go to work and act normal all day.

Anyway, I just wanted to give you all a bit of hope. And a giggle - when I got the preg tests the young lad on the tills in Tesco ignored the divider I'd put between my shopping and the person in front's shopping on the conveyor basket. I was happily oblivious until I heard the poor lady in front trying to reassure her teenage daughter that she wasn't pregnant and she really hadn't put the preg tests in her trolley! I had to own up that it was mine [Wink]

Anyone else get the feeling that this baby could be a bit awkward??! It's already caused complete strangers to argue, not to mention a few 'am I? aren't I?' anxieties.

Sorry for such a long post, but I am silly excited, and we aren't telling friends/family for a while yet whilst it sinks in, but I just had to tell you all!
