YAY! That thing is gone. It was definately easier coming out than it was going in. I spotted a little afterwards but nothing to be concerned with. My dr also told me I could start trying now..based on my 31 day cycle, I should ovulate this week. I bought OPK test strips today...wish me luck!

Hi Girls

I hope that you dont mind me joining you all, I am due to have my mirena taken out on the 8th of next month. I am desperately hoping that it wont take me too long to conceive again, I fell pregnant with my twins three months after coming off the pill (was on it for about 6 yeasr) and had the coil put in as I was worried I would get pregnant again too early following their birth.

We are now ready to add to our clan but I am feeling a little aprehensive as so many of you seem to be waitng and waiting.

xx

stnurse78- just wanted to wish you good luck today. It really is much less painful than inserting it. It took less than 15 minutes in my Doc's office (from the time I walked in, to the time I walked out). Take a pad with you, I didn't bleed until I got out of my car, and boy was I surprised!! First day was like a light/mod period and have been spotting ever since.

Just Starting..
I had mine removed on Monday 8/4. However, I started bleeding yesterday. I've been tracking my BBT and hadn't noticed any dip until this morning. So now I'm waiting to see if this is the real AF or just due to the hormone inbalance (which is due to having the IUD removed). According to my cycle I should start on 8/21...so now it's a waiting game. Hopefully this is the real deal, I'll keep everyone updated.

Does anyone feel completely out of tune with their body since having the coil? I never thought about it til I had the coil removed last week, but I really don't know what to expect from my body at the moment. Thankfully I'm only 29 so I don't feel a huge pressure to get pregnant immediately.

Well my cycle is definately a bit out of wack since having it removed. I have been tracking my BBT for about 2 months (I started before it was removed so that I could figure out my cycle). I was set to ovulate the day I had the IUD removed, but didn't. I then had a drop in tempature and started bleeding 4 days after it was removed, seemed like it was a normal AF, so now I am waiting to see if I get another AF on the 21st (which was when it was due before I had the Mirena removed), or if my temp spikes and I ovulate. I would suggest tracking your BBT, it would at least give you a true indication of your cycles and if you are ovulating or not...

Before removal I didn't notice anything odd with my body except I had no sex drive whatsoever. I didn't have the horrible side-effects a lot of the women on here post about. But then, who posts positive things? When we come to these threads we are looking for answer to our problems.

I still suggest the mirena to anyone who asks (if their Dr says it's right for them). I will probably have another put in after I have this baby, having no period was GREAT!

My af arrived yesterday and I was actually glad to see it, as at least I know that the mirena hasnt stopped me from ovulating

Warmest of greetings to all the lovely ladies here.

Obviously I'm the new "kid" in town and have somehow managed to mosey my way here while searching for information on conceiving after Merina.

I currently have three kiddos and am hoping to complete my family with our fourth addition.

To give a bit of information on myself, I'm 25 years of age and have/had no medical or conceiving problems. I have had Merina in for around 2 and 1/2 years (It was installed, you know like cable what with it's strings and what have you, 6 weeks Post after the birth of my youngest), with little to no spotting.

Now we come to the present. I called this morning to schedule the removal of the beast (rofl) and almost fainted when they told me they could see me in a day. (Let's be honest that doesn't happen too often. Usually we have to wait weeks to a month.) Sadly that was not to be, so my appointment is scheduled for the morning of the 3rd of September. Two weeks isn't too bad I suppose, but when one wants a baby even a week seems to drag on forever.

Either way, after reading this thread I'm not sure if I'm feeling better or more anxious. Though I have no qualms admitting I can be impatient when I make up my mind that I want something. I get it from... someone. Hehe.

I look forward to getting to know you all and being able to offer support and any knowledge gained from my experiences.

Hi just joined the gang

I have had my Mirena removed this morning, only had it in for 20 months. I am hoping to conceive and was wondering how soon this could happen, any stories out there. I am 43 so I know that time is not on my side but here's hoping. My best friend has just found out she is pregnant at 43 and a work colleague had her third baby last year 2 months short of 46 ! Both babies conceived naturally no IVF !

Well it's been almost 4 weeks since removal and no af in sight. Libido seems to be back on track though, kinda missed that!! Haven't been back on the forum since my last posting. I will try tracking my BBT- thanks Ready2tryagain....
I definitely have noticed that I am dreaming more, is that strange or what?? A little moodier now too (hormones must be starting to regulate themselves).

Good morning! I had my IUD removed on 8/4 mid-cycle. I started AF (which I thought was withdrawl bleeding) on 8/7. I have been tracking BBT and showed I ovulated on the 25th, so it looks like I'm getting back to normal. If I didn't count the bleeding on the 7th as AF I would have been due to start on 8/21. Hope this makes sense.

I hope to start BDing next cycle. I'll keep you posted. Good Luck and Lots of BabyDust to everyone!

Well, I also am a newby to this site. I have 2 children and we are ready to try for #3. I had my Mirena in for about a year and just had it removed on Aug. 21. I was scheduled for AF on Aug 22 so hoped the removal was good timing. I did get AF on the 22nd as scheduled and am now having all of the feelings/symptoms of ovulation...keeping fingers crossed that it will not take forever. Its had not to get discouraged after reading many of the other forums on here about Mirena...anyone out there with some quick success stories?

Hey, another newbie here lol I had my coil put in also 2 and a half years ago after having a pregnancy difficulty that ment I couldn't keep my baby. I kinda besided never to have children again, already have one lovely blonde, now three year old girl. but a few months ago a new partner finally changed my mind and I had the marina taken out.

So after an easy take out, a day after phoning about it,one period. This is the day my next peroids due and no sign so far, no achs or pain related to it either. I'm feeling lucky Smiler If it works out I'll be sure to tell you guys. Good luck to everyone!!!
