Hi Madma2010, I saw your message and it cheered me up, haven't given up hope just it's hard when time is not on your side . I'm alot older than you and have probably abused my poor body alot more. Having said that I was on the net yesterday and found a site for women ttc thst are over 35, and there were lots of postivie stories. As I've already said it's early days only had my coil out on the 2nd of may. Can I ask did you have any spotting after your coil was removed ??? or no bleed at all . thanks Kate

Hi Katie 2003 I thought I would let you know that a few years ago I had a mirena coil and after having it removed it took about 3 months to conceive whereas previously with my other children i has conceived the first month. i had the mirena in for about 4 years and a couple of days after it was removed i had a period but then for 3 months my periods were all over the place so i thought it was never going to happen as my periods used to be regular but like i say it only took 3 months plus i am now 9weeks pregnant after going to the clinic for a routine check on my mirena so it had to be removed so i have now conceived with a mirena still in and like you i am 37 years old so miracles do happen, goodluck and dont get too stressed over it and it will happen.. Amanda and family xxx

Hi everyone. I've been reading this post for a while now but thought I'd join in. I had my Merina removed on 18 April and had a bleed a couple of days later that lasted about 3 days then spotted for a couple of days after that. I have had another af on 13 May for 3 1/2 days which meant my cycle was 23 days. I had my merina in after my daughter was born in 1996 and regularly had it changed. I had no periods or any problems the whole time (12 Years). I recently became a grandmother and decided I'm too young and want another baby myself (at the lovely age of 41). So here I am, wondering if I will get pregnant soon or whether I'm just fooling myself. I have heard some good and bad things about ttc after merina but seeing as we are all different I think nature will do its thing if its going too. So good luck to all of us.

Hi Butterflybabe8 Thank you , your message made me feel better, it must have been a mega shock, finding out you were pregnant ( as your coil was still in place ) A nice shock I hope !! . I,m trying hard to be positive some days I think yes we can do this no problem and others I think I'm just kidding myself. At the end of the day I have 3 healthy children and one new born grandaughter so I've been blessed. But I have a very strong desire to have one more. At the moment I'm waiting for my first af because I've only had 3 days of spotting 3 days after removal ,so I don't know if this was first af or just a bleed because of removal . Does seem strange after all the years of no monthly ( and loving it ) waiting and wanting my af just so I no where I am if that makes sense. Also i've been reading and lots of women are now opting to start there families at our age . Will keep you posted and thanks once again kate xxxxx

Hi to everyone , Thanks for your replys, this is just a quick update sadly nothing has changed still af still bfn . Keep feeling like af is coming then nothing it's been 6 weeks now !!! For the last 4 days I've had sore boobs mild backache , and been mega snappy with dh, but still no af I find this really strange waiting every day for my af spent the last 8 years not even having to think about them . Still going away tomorrow for a week in the sun ( that should make her come ) right when you really don't want her !!!! Hope everyone is well update when I get home .

Hello Everyone (Me Almost 40! DP 43 DD14 DS10) I just wanted to give all of you 'TTC Post Mirena ladies' some hope. Having had my Mirena coil removed in March this year to TTC (was in for 9.5 years, changed after 5yrs and never had a period the whole time it was in!!)I got my BFP yesterday. It took 7 weeks for my period to return upon removal of the coil and like many on here I thought it would never come. But since then I have had 2 other cycles approx 21/22 days long and have managed to conceive on my 3rd cycle approx 3 months after my coil was removed. And Im nearly 40 and I unfortunately picked up Clamydia 4yrs ago which was diagnosed by accident on a routine smear.I thought this may cause infertility but thankfully it hasnt. So theres hope to all of you out there TTC post Mirena! Wishing you all the best!

I have been following this thread for sometime. I have decided to TTC again. I too have the merina coil and am getting it removed August 4. I have had regular ovulation and bleeding (always very light, not even enough for a liner) I have a 31 day cycle. I had no problem concieving my son but am a little concerned this time around. I have been taking prenatals, just to be safe. I really can't determine what my concern is. I just wanted to share the first chapter of hopefully a very short book with you. I have a very good feeling I will get pregnant in December, sometimes I think with twins other times just 1. I do not know why, I just have that feeling. I should probably also say that I "knew" I was pregnant a week before I my period was late and I "knew" I was having a boy by the time I was 6 weeks pregnant. Again, I don't know how...just did.
Me 27 DH 36 D(steo)S 16 D(step)D 13 DS (ours) 4
