Thanks Jessandabbie,

I have read that too. I was just taking it to regulate my hormones before my AF. I haven't drank it since I started AF. I'm going to try arginine to thicken up my uterine lining. Pharmacist at the apothecary says it should do the trick. Waiting to tcc until May anyway. Just enough time to get myself "internally" ready Smiler

Hi ceri and it is nice to hear a positive story post merina coil!

Can I just ask if you had any AF whilst the coil was still in and also how long it took for you to have an AF after the coil was removed?

Hiya to all. I'm 29. I had the merina coil fitted because I had very heavy, painful periods and wasn't ready to have more children(already had one). It was brilliant as I didn't have another period or any pain the whole time it was in. When we decided to have a baby I had it removed (December 12th 2005) and had a period within a few days. Within a week I was pregnant. So the merina coil did not affect my fertility, my son is now 18 months old and as my heavy periods have returned I am thinking of having a merina coil fitted again.

hi,
im new to this site and need some advise.

i had the merina coil fitted in 2006 after after triplets in 2005. i had the coil in for 2yrs, bled the occasional month but nothing to stress over. 6th april 2008 i had the coil removed as we decided we wanted to try again for another baby (mad i know). the nurse who took it out told me i should expect a period after a week of having it removed. the day after it was removed i spotted for 2-3 days, not really what id call a period, but still nearly 3 weeks down the line im still waiting for a desent bleed so i can try and work out an ovulation date.
can anyone advice me on when i should expect to have a proper period or was the spotting that i had it?

thanks

xxx

Hi my name is Kate & I'm 37 ( so no spring chiken) . My hubby and I are trying for our first child together ,We already have 5 children between us But none together. I have had the mirena coil for about 7 1/2 years with no monthlys or problems . Had it removed on 2nd of May 2008 to ttc had very dark spotting 3 days later ( but don't know if this was my af ) or just a result of the coil being removed a few days before. Please help need answers and happy ending stories!!!As you can see by my age time is not on my side and after reading stories on here I have mixed emotions that I will get pregnant. I hope you ladies don't mind me butting in on your thread. I would also love to hear from ladies in the same boat as myself . Many thanks Kate

Hi and thankyou for your reply it,s so hard trying to understand what is going on with my body at the moment . My Gp told me I would be able to concive right after removal and that once I had a bleed my system would be back to per mirena . Have to be honest it's so long since I've had an af can't really remenber what they were like before, however I have no doubt I will get a firm reminder around the end of the month !!!!! Will keep you posted ( would be wonderfull not to get reminder ) thanks Kate

Hi Kate, I had my coil removed in march and had 3 days of spotting after removal then had to wait 6 weeks for my AF to turn up it was a very heavy painful one then I have just had a 26 days cycle and AF was not too bad although I was getting bfp 2 days before it arrived but think that just turned out to be a chemical pregnancy my lesson from that is to not take the test too early and wait!!

My doctor told me to wait for 2 months and have 2 clear AF before trying as i need to give my body time to adjust and think this is good advice although not easy advice to take when your limited on time Im 35 and would like to just give it a year to try for baby no4 and if it does not happen in a year my dh is going to have the snip (ouch!!) so im just trying so hard every month to get that bfp, knowing my luck I will fall on the last month of trying!!!

Hi jessandabbie not seen you around for a while I hope you are well and recovering from the miscarriage, hope it has not put you off and keep me posted how your getting on.

Hi Applei, and thankyou , your advice sounds like a good idea,I will try and stick too it !!!! However it,s very hard as I've said time is not on my side . Never had to worry with other 3 pregnanice's ( fell for my daughter on the pill!!! ) came of pill in March for son number one and fell in the april. and with ( last son came off pill in august and fell in september) so it was easy with all 3 . Was never gonna have anymore but secound marriage to an amazing man took it's time but really changed my mind and really can't wait to be pregnant again . However it is early days at the moment , but because of my age I have very niggling doubts that I will get pregnant, but it is early days and gp said theres no reason why we shouldn't be able to concive !!!! I think I just need to think positive and relax and enjoy baby dancing !!!!
