Good luck... but keep the faith, like others have said on this thread, it can and does happen after Mirena. I had mine removed on 23 September, had a 2 day bleed, had a proper period on 23 October and got my BFP on 22 November! Hope this gives you some hope! x x x

i am about to have my marina coil removed as it is nearly 5 years since i had it fitted. i am just wondering what to expect when i have it removed and what are the chances of conceiving again as me and my partner have decided to try for a baby? im 26 years old and had my first son in april 2003 and had the coil fitted just after. is there any problems getting pregnant after having the coil in for 5 years?

Hey all, sorry to butt in on this thread, just wanted to say Kaytee85, I know its frustrating hun but 4 months is no time att all in ttc terms, I wouldn't give up just yet!! Why don't you pop over to the ttc thread, it's full of lovely ladies who will cheer you all up, even a few who are ttc after mirena, (myself included). Stacylou, I waited almost 7 weeks for my first bleed after I had my mirena removed. Just like the pill it can take little while for your body to adjust arefter having the hormone levels controlled for such a long time. If you've not had a bleed in 7 days I'd test again. Much love and babydust to all Sal xxxxxx Me 24 Dp 37 dss 10 Expecting #1 post mirena coil EDD - 6th Nov 08

I had a period around the 12th Dec.... any advice or guidence is very much welcomed!!!!

hey well.. i wasnt regular at the start but after my first real period everything seemed to go back to normal and now i have a period every month so yeah i guess it can be different for different people too.. expecting my next period on feb and have decided that if its not my BFP this month then i am going to get a merina and think about doing other things our situation has changed dramatically and though i hope to have another child I also think now its not such a good idea, so Im giving myself til my next period and if it didnt happen then it wasnt ment to be for me.. Thanks to everyones support and advice, Right now I just want to know if i am or not so I can start making new plans for differnt things, career wise n so on, Take some control for a change compared to playing the waiting game.. but to those of you who are still waiting for ur BFP hang in there it will happen it might just take some time but ask any mother this question.. is a baby worth the wait? ofcourse it is! situations can be adapted to having a new baby so dont lose hope, for me I just think as nice as 3 would be i have 2 that need me and I need to start concidering how to reach my life dream of owning my own home and a baby might not be the best thing for me anymore.. so I am happy with my two girls and am not going to be down about the choices i make.. thanks again everyone

I had the Mirena removed a month or so ago because I wanted to try for my third. I was wondering how long it would take to get pregnant after having it removed so I found this website and was very surprised by all the negative comments about the Mirena. I had no problems with it but now after reading all the bad comments, I'm worried about not being able to become pregnant for awhile. I'm trying not to dwell on it too much and just relax, hoping that helps with me becomine pregnant. I will let you know if or when I do.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say that although ive had the mirena twice now, and two very different experiences with it, once ive had this baby i am in two minds as to whether i will get it again,.. i know all the side effects and i felt really bad the 2nd time i had it, but... and its a big but, i may consider having it again..I suffer from very heavy painful periods but definatley wont be having anymore kids, so apart from getting sterilized..which wouldnt solve my pain and heaviness.. i dont see many other options, it is a fantastic form of contraception i have to say, but do i really want those side effects again, not sure about this one! anyone else have any thoughts? Its so difficult to know what to do for the best??? Pill makes me ill and i suffer from migraines, Dh wont use condoms and i hate them aswell... had depropravera (sp) for a few months and it was nasty..(bled constantly) and i dont really think there is much other choice apart from going celebate!!! The things we have to go through as women.. Emma. x
