Really nervous about having coil removed, should I expect to be in pain? would appreciate any words of wisdom about the whole conceving after mirena, should I wait a while or just go for it?? Good luck to all of you, its been great reading all your comments pobbins XXX

Hi there Kaytee85, Just wanted to say that i had my mirena out september 6th spotted for 3 days after removal same as you had, then had a proper period 26th september, I wasn't trying all that much but got a BFP last monday! so yes fertility does come back straight away, its all down to timing!! I had been taking prenacare vitamins since i got my coil out, but don't know whether this helped. good look to you and hoping you get your BFP soon!

I didnt even feel it coming out, was so relieved, as it hurt goin in!! felt ovulation pain on OP19, hoping i will conceive straight away, I have a good feeling about it! the ovulation pain was a lot stronger this time. fingers crossed....i dont want to be ttc for ages

hey well i havent got my BFP yet but i guess its BFM hopefully.. i have one of them mini lipstick lookin microscopes called "maybe baby" its an ovulation saliver tester.. so Today i do it and it tells me that im ovulating.. which according the the chart lasts like 4 days and then my period should come shortly after.. I have waited a long time now so I hope its not much longer and even then im scared because it has taken so long that im either not able to concieve or that i will have problems or MC if i do .. It just sucks because my first 2 were so easy and now im actually trying to plan one.. its not happening! but Im walking every day to keep fit and make myself feel good, im eating healthy and getting lots of rest too, no late nights. Fingers crossed and good luck to everyone else. im so glad for this support forum I would be so depressed if I hadn't of found this place, because no one told me it would be a long wait the doctor made it sound like I could go home and get pregnant the very same day i had the merina removed! how wrong! i might give my doc this forums url next time and tell him to read the coil section so he can spread the word that mums to be arent fertile as quick as they are telling everyone they will be. one again thx everyone and good luck to yall I will check in later on with more news if any

Anyone else have this experience? I had mirena in for five months and hated everything about it--bled daily, lost hair, mood swings, no sex drive. I had it out last month, bled HEAVILY for eight days, no signs of ovulation, and now I tested positive (twice) for pregnancy. I am so worried about the pregnancy. Normally, I have not been very fertile. It took nearly a year for my other two children, but now only one time since mirena. It wreaked havoc on my body, and now I worry it will continue to wreak havoc on my baby. I was NOT trying to get pregnant, and I'm met with mixed emotions. Mostly, though, fear that the hormones and problems I had with mirena will affect the pregnancy. And, I'll be just shy of 40 when the baby comes...

hi ladies Just popped on to give you abit of hope, i had my merina removed after using it for 6 years in jan 06 , fell pregnant in April 06 after doing loads of tests in the mean time and now have a beautiful baby boy. There is light at the end of the tunnel, whilst i was trying i believed that it had made me infertile but it does happen, just have faith. Good luck to everyone. Throwing lots of baby dust to you all xxx Julie

Hi staceylou, I would say, as its only been, what? just over a week since removal, to take the tablets for the bleeding and get that sorted 1st, it is possible to conceive straight away, but i wouldn't be in too much of a hurry. Your hormone levels are all over the place which may be causing the heavy bleeding, and the levels of hormone needed to sustain pg need to be stable, i would get yourself sorted this month, have a proper cycle, (mine came 3 weeks after) then see what happens. Its worth the wait! its only a few weeks! I had mine removed 6th september, bled 3 days later a bit, then got my period 3 weeks later, got pg 2 weeks after that! i am now 9 weeks pg, so it can still be quick for you. hope this helps, Good luck, Emma. x
