Touchwood I am 33 weeks pregnant with my second child after having the merina coil removed. I had it removed in March and I was pregnant by May so please do not despair there is hope - I found that the coil, after a period of about 3 months, really suited me and my lifestyle and I had it in for 2 years before having it removed. After spending the last 16 years trying various forms of contraception I will now go back to the merina coil after this birth as I found it suited me that wel. wishing you the very best of luck.

Thanks ladies for the positives that can happen after the merina. It does give me some hope, but I just dread to think what I have done to my body with that evil thing! I don't like it and would never have another one especially after last week my friend was rushed into hospital and had to have hers surgically removed as it had migrated! But each to their own I know that it does suit some ladies. Thanks again Touchwood XX

Hi Touchwood!
I was just about to write to someone to ask the exact same thing as I have just read in your mail! Have you found anyone who conceived after removal of the mirena? I had mine out 3 weeks ago and am trying to conceive now. I had some bleeding 2 days after removal but am confused as to whether this might have been the beginning of my cycle or not. Could this be? Will I ever be able to sort out my cycle? This is very frustrating, especially as I am having such mood swings and sore breasts for example. Could I be pregnant? I am new to all of this and just want to get pregnant! Thanks if you can offer any advice, Vicster

This is great to read! I had my mirena removed 3 weeks ago and am trying to get pregnant and wondering if this might be possible already! I had some bleeding a couple of days later-was this day one of my cycle do you know, or just some spotting? I am so anxious to conceive! Thanks a lot, Vicster

Hi Just to let you know, it is possible to get preganat after Merina coil,i had mine removed 4th jan last year, bled pretty bad after and didnt actually get a period until march. I ended up falling on in April of this year. Although i thought the coil was the bee's knees at the time i would not have another one fitted! i didnt realise all the problems that i suffered were due to the 'MERINA' !! Good luck for those TTC .
