hello,
I'm a 23 year old married women, who has had problems with irregular heavy bleeding since my late teens. I saw my gynacologist who recomened i concieved within 6 month. i had only been with my husband (my then boyfriend) for 2 months, and didn't feel this was an option so i had the pill for three years, but due to increased pain and bleeding, my gynaecologist recommened the coil. This was removed in june, however it took 6 weeks for my period to come and it's been 4 weeks since the end of my last period. We are trying to concieve and want to know how long it took for peoples periods to become regular and also how long it took people to concieve post coil removal. I'm really worried incase i left it to late! Its been four years since my doctor only gave me 6 months to get pregnant!!!!
HELP

Hi girls I posted on this thread back in January.
Me 35 - well almost!
DH 40
DS 12
DS 9
DS 4

MC removed 24th Jan 06.
Was my second mirena coil and no complications with them.
Became preg with our third child within two mths of it being removed.
This time it took a little longer but cir****tances were v different.
TTC from removal in Jan, used fertility monitor as periods were v irregular. My dear Mum was diagnosed with a very aggressive brain tumour at the end of March so of course stopped ttc + charting.
Sadly she died on the 9th of July, so much sooner than we could of imagined.
I had lost my desire to have another child + physically didn't think it poss as I had lost a lot of weight with the stress and my periods became so erratic again.
So imagine my surprise + delight when we I get a bfp test yesterday!!!! Would u believe it we've only had unprotected sex ONCE in the last 5 mths and I mean ONCE.
We are delighted but of course I desperately wish my Mum was here to share this with me. She was always so supportive and life shall never be the same again.
I do believe she has sent me this baby Smiler

I really hope you girls get ur bfp's soon + join us on the May thread.
Buckets of Babydust to you all

Insomniac,

The news about your mum is so sad I really don't know what to say except I am sure she is with you all the way and will watch over you and your little one. No I am not some sort of nutter but I do believe that loved ones look over us when we need them. My husbands dad died suddenly and unexpectedly we both loved Simply Red and The Lighthouse Family. If I am having a bad day records from those two groups usually come on in the car when I am listening to the radio. Neither are in the charts so I always feel that it is him sending me music to cheer me up Big Grin May I wish you the very best of luck with your BFP.

Thanks Touchwood I really appreciate your kind words. I'm sorry to hear about your father-in-law. There are definitely moments I feel that my Mum is nearby and I talk to her a lot.
I posted on the forum back in Jan and am saddened to see that a lovely lady like you and so many of the same girls are still desperately ttc. Frowner
Please don't give up hope.
Sending you all buckets of BABYDUST.

I had it removed on 4th Jan this year my period didnt return till march and fell pregnant in may, i had the coil for 6 years and thought that i would take forever to get pregnant after reading other people's stories. Trish,

Congratulations on your BFP. I started this thread so us ex-merinas could get an idea of what was happening to everyone else. It is so good when we have a BFP.

I have just seen my specialist and she has suggested that I try Clomid so I have to tell her my decision in five weeks time.

Good luck

Lots of babyglue
