I'm an expectant mother for the first time and have just registered to this website.
As all new mums i'm sure everyone is very excited about their new arrival but also can feel a little nervous from time to time.
I'm currently 30 weeks pregnant. My concerns are that some days i get quite a bit of movement but others i don't. Should i be feeling big kicks at this stage of pregnancy as most of the time it still feels like a grumbling feeling in my tummy. I'm sure if there was a problem i would know but is this normal to some days feel hardly any movement? I've been recieving all regular check ups and everything is fine. I think its just me thinking the worst sometimes. Any advice?

don't worry too much if your mid-wife has checked you and said everythings normal. i found that at around 30weeks i had a big growth spurt in the belly area which meant that the baby had less room to move around, when it got use to the amount of room there is there was more activity, it took about a week to happen though.
if you are concerned mention it to the mid-wife, i'm sure she'll reasure you that things are fine!
good luck with everything, and let us know how your getting on when you get a chance to!

Thank you so much for the advice. Typically since writing i've had quite a bit of movement!! Your definately right though about the growth spurt - i can't believe it. I'm finishing work soon so no doubt i'll grow even more rapidly as i'll have more time to relax. I'll let you know how i'm getting on though.
Nice to talk to you.

I am 37 weeks pregnant and I find out that somedays my baby doesn't move at all. I panicked once about 2 months ago, when baby stayed quiet for 48 hours and then called MB1 and was asked to go and have the baby monitored.
Since then I have been there about 3 times and amazingly enough, I don't feel embarassed at all. Everytime I go there, as soon as the monitor is placed, the baby starts to move.
All the midwives are really kind and always say there is no need to stay at home panicking with no reason. If you ever feel the baby is not moving or get worried about anything, just give MB1, the ante-natal ward, a ring. They will be more than glad to help.
