I've been lurking on this board for a few months now since TTC and have got a lot of strength from reading the advice you all give each other (thank you for that!).
I got my BFP on Thursday (yay!) and will be joining the 'Babies Due in July' thread once I'm a few more weeks in (I'm a bit nervous).
However, I could do with some help from the experienced mums out there. I'm going out this evening and will be off the alcohol. My friends all know I've been TTC and I haven't drunk for two months just in case - but tonight it's my birthday night out and they're all expecting me to give myself a night off and have a few drinks. How can I excuse myself for not drinking without slipping up and telling everyone my news? DH and I want to wait a few weeks, I'm only 4 1/2 weeks and we're both nervous that my little bean won't stick.
Thanks ladies!! Lots of sticky glue and dust to you all!!

tell them you're antibiotics for something or drink tonic water with ice and lemon. Happy birthday and congratulations. from another nervous due in July mum.

Thanks Trad, I'll go with the tonic idea I think and make DH buy all my drinks. I'll keep a full one in front of me so I can say no thanks when anyone offers to buy me a drink. 2 friends are GPs so I'd get into all sorts of difficulties with anything medical!!
Slightly more worried about DH's lips being loosened by alcohol and him blurting it out, LOL!
When are you due?
Thanks again x x x

Wow - great birthday pressie for them. Expensive month though, lol! In our family we have 5 birthdays in the close family in November (including mine) and there's always a general moan about them all being on top of each other. Isn't it weird the way families do that?
Hopefully see you in the July thread, I don't know what I'm waiting for really, perhaps for it to sink in. Could be a while!
Thanks again for your advice
