Hi all, I've recently discovered my baby's bowels are growing on the outside, does anyone have any info on this?

Im not a medical person but i have watched a lot of maternity progs on Discovery and there seems 2 b a few babies that have their bowels growing outside of their body. I believe its called gastroschisis (not sure if its spelt right). After the baby is born they normally have 2 b operated on 2 put the innards back in. I think that tomorrow at 9.30am on Living Channel Baby ER is on and they are showing a baby who had 2 b operated on but couldnt get everything back in.
I hope this has given u some info but its probably best 2 talk 2 ure gp or consultant for more detailed advice.
