I have had severe SPD for probably 3 months now to the extent that walking was excrutiating. anyhow to coincide with bubs dropping even more 2 days ago at the exact same time the SPD is all but almost gone. This whole time I have not had it ease like this. Am also getting stronger bh's and they go for hrs + added pressure bowel, vagina. I also had 2 episodes of what I can only describe as a "buzzing" feeling LOW down in my vagina, wasnt bubs as was too low for her. Have you ever heard of spd easing closer to delivery? Searching got me nothing. thanx for any insight you can offer xx

Hi Jude, Its probably just ligament pain, where everything is stretching due to your growing uterus, but if it gets any worse or you have any vaginal loss then see a midwife or your GP. Regards Jules
Hi Tabbycat, I'm sure that with the baby moving down or to a more better positon for you can improve the SPD, by putting less strain of the effected area. Also it may have been more of an nerve problem than an SPD problem that is why the releif is so sudden. I'm glad you have relief now and hope it continues to the end of your pregnancy. As for the pain and discomfort you describe, it could be the baby being lower, but any concerns you should see your midwife. Best wishes Jules
Thanx Jules xxx Have my OB on monday so will be mentioning those pains then if not worse before. Had them again today for hrs, think its just braxtons hicks are increasing. Am happy I am SPD free ( or whatever it was )and can enjoy the last of my pregnancy

I have been having the most uncomfortable sleep now for about a week.
i wake in the night will my hip - lower ack really hurting and aching which stops me getting back to sleep it swaps from side to side. And when i get up in a morning i have the most horrible throbbing pain in the lower back area.
It probably dont help im crunched up over a desk all day but i do try to move as much as possible and i sleep with a pillow supporting the bump and in between my legs, which is the only way i can fall to sleep to start with.
I have come home from work today cause its just to much, im so shattered and my back was killing - to which my boss wasnt to impressed and said it was all due to the pregnancy and didnt even send me home i had to ask, even though i had been in tears most the morning!!
I have booked an extra midwife appt tomorrow to see what she thinks, I just dont want the midwie to dissmiss it as it feels worse that just general bak and hip pain if you know what i mean? and im concerned if i dont go in to work tomorrow my boss may be funny as he his like that!!
Hi Lisa Could it be down to your chair that you use at work, it not aligning your back properly, or you may need a foot stand also whilst at your desk. Your boss can not do anything with this being pregnancy related and if he does get your union on it! As the final weeks approach, baby is bigger and you generally get more aches and pains with the general weight you are carrying, therefore you need to use aids such as a support chair and foot stand to use at your desk. See what your midwife says, but apart what I have suggested, I don't know what else to say, but your midwife will check you over and if she finds anything she will advise you. Best wishes Jules
My first day of LMP was 29th September but I didn't OV until 27th Oct.
I have a nuchal booked for 27th Dec, will it be too early? When I told my doc the OV date he said it is still calculated from LMP date? Just a bit confused as I don't want to have the Nuchal too early...Although I have heard they are ok from 10 to 13 weeks.
Hi Nico, Your Doctor is right, it is calculated from your LMP date, then by scan dates, also if it is difficult to see, they will have you back to check at a later date, so don't worry. Although the hospitals I know of, check for anomalies around the 20 week scan. Best wishes Jules
I posted a while back as I was v. late and showing signs. I've had a blood test done which was negative (about 5 weeks ago). Anyhow, I've now had a BFP on xmas eve and I'm completely gobsmacked? We weren't trying and given that AF has been AWOL since October I have no clue when I am due. I do know that I've been feeling v sick for a while now... In your experience have you ever known of a blood test being wrong? I guess it could be a mistake on the labs part but I think I won't know til I have a scan and find out how far along I am? I think what is really confusing me is that with my 2 earlier pregnancies, my positive was v. v. faint, but this one was a definite within seconds. It was scarily fast... Anyway, thanks for any help/info you can give.
Hey Janine - Sorry to butt in but i think that means your placenta is on the left at the back of your uterus. Nothing to worry about, they just note the position of it so that they know for any future scans. Also if it's at the front (anterior) you'll feel less movement and covering your cervix they'd check again at a later stage becoaus ethat could mean you'll have to have a c section.
Hope that helps x

Moomum, Sorry for taking so long to get back to you. I have never known a blood test to wrong, but maybe it was taken to early and your not as far along as you may think. Have you a scan booked? Will they repeat the blood test? Regards Jules
Hi Janine, Left lateral means it is on the left side of the uterus, lateral means side, posterior is back and anterior is front. As Noo says its nothing to worry about as its not low near the cervix. But if it is near the cervix it still has time to move upwards as the uterus grows in size. Regards Jules
Thanks for getting back to me. I have had the blood test re-done on Thursday. My GP has said that he will be surprised if it comes back neg this time as in his experiences the home tests are quite accurate. He said to make a MW appointment and I will see her on Thursday so I guess that they'll arrange a scan to date me properly as my LMP was 02/09/06 so I have no idea of where I am up to. I guess the fact that I'm feeling so grotty and sick is a good indicator that I'm not too far along. As for the first blood test, I am wondering if the receptionist made a mistake when she gave me the results over the phone. I had had other tests done (thyroid etc) and she told me they were negative and never mentioned the preg. test. When I asked her about it she responded that the doc had marked "no further action" so it was probably negative? It sounded like she had changed screens on the pc and didn't actually look at the results. Who knows I guess? Thanks again
