Moo, Your welcome. I hope bubs has moved for you hun, you can try this to see if he/she has. Put your thumb and first finger either side of where the head should be just above the pubic bone, press deep either side and slighlty start to pinch the thumb and finger towards each other, you should feel a hard head, if its a bottom it will feel softer. But if head is really down the soft feel can be confused with shoulder your feeling. Another way to tell if baby is still breech, is feel for where the bottom is at the top, place the tips of your finger from each hand either side of the the bottom and alternately press in with each hand quite quickly, if its a bottom it will be quite ridged, if its a head it will sort of bounce between your fingers quite freely, this is called the head being ballotable. Hope this helps Regards Jules x

Jess, You can be still pregnant after bleeding, and some women go through the whole of their pregnancy having 'periods'. The only thing I am a little concerned about is that you say the test is still faint, after the first ones, and now especially getting up to two weeks later they should be quite dark by now. But it could be the type of test thats being used. Yes if you did have a chemical, then you can have the HCG in your system for a couple of weeks after, so this may explain why the tests are only faint. Are they getting fainter or slightly darker? I do hope you are pregnant, but I would be realistic too as it could have been a chemical with the tests still only being faint positives, but in saying that the digi's are usually very reliable. Best of luck hun and let me know how you do on wednesday. Regards Jules x

hi couldyou help? I gave birth to a baby boy on 15th March (hes lovely!) On the 19th/20th day after, me and DH did the deed. I have since been told that this is THE most fertile time. the problem is I went to the docs today who prescribed some anti-biotics for a skin complaint and I dont want to take them if there is a chance I could be pregnant. Could you please help, I wouldnt want to risk it as I have miscarried twice before my DS. Should I hang fire on the tabs till my period? what is the chance of pregnancy? when do I expect my period? Thank you so much liz

Jess did you contact the early pregnancy assessement unit or your antenatal clinic at the hospital for advice? Regards Jules x Liz, Firstly congratulations hunx Your brave doing the deed so shortly after birth. Hat off to you. Yes the first 3 weeks are the most fertile weeks after delivery and you could easily catch again. I think you should seek advice from your dr to see if there is anything else you could take that would be safe, if your not pregnant and still need those particular antibiotics then you could take them once your period starts, but use precautions in the mean time. If you are breastfeeding you may not have a period for months, if you are not usually by 6 weeks you will have had a period, some have it 2-6 weeks following delivery. Best wishes Jules x Mel, I'm sure the dr wouldn't have prescribed it if there were any concerns, but obviously the least you can take the better. As for the sleepless nights, they won't really get any better until you have had the baby and then there will be something different to keep you awake. x Just try the usual stuff like a warm bath and hot milk before going to bed, try to get your husband to massage you with just carrier oil to relax you before going to bed. Other than that just sleep when you can whether its day or night. Oh and use plenty of pillow props to get you comfortable in bed. Best wishes Jules x

Hi Jules Hope you are well and just to say you do a fab job on here. I am 35 and a half weeks pregnant and today I started to feel quite heavy in my pelvic region with mild period pains which have now eased off. I saw my midwofe yesterday and baby is well down and engaging well. I have started to get mild pain in my left bum cheek on walking plus a bit of groin pain. Are these all signs of the baby engaging? I had a warm bath tonight which has helped. I just want to be warned of any likelyhood of early labour Thanks Jules X me (Sam): 41 DH: 48 5 miscarriages

Hi Sam, Thank you. It sounds like baby is way down in the pelvis and also sounds like you have a touch of sciatica which is a trapped nerve, this can come and go, or can become constant until the baby is born. You will start to have lots of niggling pains from now on, but if they come in waves and are starting to get painful and your tummy is tightening then you should ring your local hospital. Best wishes Jules x Hi Lucy, Its hard to say, as your body needs time to become regulated again. I doubt whether that one day was a period, and usually having a coil removed can cause some bleeding which I guess that was what yours was. But now that the coil is removed your cycle may change a little and you may not have a period around the same time as before. But usually you can have what we call eggwhite stretchy cm around ovulation, or some ladies tend to get it a few days prior to a period starting. So its a case of just being patient and seeing what happens, but start to temp and chart down your signs throughout your cycle and you will get to know your body much better. Best wishes Jules x

Hi Jules, Hope married life is treating you well. I thought that I would just up date you on things. I'll have to remind you what was happening, as I think it was back in Jan that I last posted.
I had my son Jayden on 20th Oct last year (4.5 weeks early as I had OC). He was born with fixed bilateral talipees.. Well he is doing really well, now only wears his boots and bar for 13 hours a day (we manage to clock this up in bed). Me.. I told you in Jan that after having my yearly colonoscopy and endoscopy they found loads of polyps, I had the results back.. NOT CANCEROUS!! YAH!!!!!. I was also waiting to have operation to remove my gallbladder, I finally had this on 4th April (waiting since November!). I feel great now, nice to not be in pain all the time!!
Also I think I mentioned that my MIL was diagnosed in Jan with Aggressive breast cancer. She is doing really well with her chemo, she has sadly lost all her hair, but is coping really well. She had a scan last week, which showed the tumour has shrunk slightly, so fingers crossed that it continues on the same path!
Thanks again. Jo & Jayden

Hi Jo and Jayden, Thank you so much for updating me, its so good to hear from you. I'm so glad that things are going really well for you and no cancer!!! YAY! Married life is good, though after having my total and partial knee relplacements in May 06 and Aug 06. I am now waiting to see if I have oesteoarthritis or rhumatoid arthritis in my hands, shoulders, neck and feet! Had blood test which showed borderline rhumatoid arthritis, but not conclusive, so due to go back next week for results from blood and xrays, so on tender hooks for that and see if I will need further surgery after I see my surgeon in June. I'm struggling a little at the moment with my exams in counselling and british sign language and also my sister borderline cancer of the appendix, which is very rare and very nasty whether it be benign or cancerous, with a prognosis of just up to 5 years life expectancy. We are going to see the consultant on Thursday to find out more. So a lot going on here. But back to you, I'm really happy you are doing well and feeling loads better. Thanks for keeping in touch hun. Best wishes Jules xxx
