Hi Kym, to be honest I cannot tell you for sure. The known fact is that subsequent babys tend to get heavier in weight, but is not always the case, but even if this baby is a little larger you may still be able to deliver vaginally as your last baby may just not have had the head in the optimum position to allow it to come down. Without knowing the exact facts from your last delivery its hard to say, and not every labour and delivery are usually the same. I say try for a VBAC if you can, its certainly quicker recovery wise than from a section. Best wishes hun. Jx

Hi there, Just wanted abit of information really. I'm 40+4wks pregnant & have my normal 41 wks appointment this thursday but, I was wondering to they actually induce you at the hospital over the weekend. As I really do not wish to have to wait til 42 wks as I already feel they've added an extra week onto my due date, as when I had my 12 week scan they measured me a week less than that calculated from my LMP? Thanks - I know i'm being a little impaitent but, it feels longer than I expected already.
Emma.

Emma, Yes they can induce you over the weekend, especially if there are a lot of inductions booked in for that week, but usually they try to avoid it. I can understand that you just want to get things going now, the last few weeks are the worst without having to wait 2 extra weeks. You can ask the question at your appt, Best of luck, hopefully you won't need your induction appt. Jx Monkey, Oh your very welcome hun, thats the day after my birthday too. Will you be choosing the 28th feb for your little ones birhtday for when its not a leap year? She looks beautiful hun. Yes your BP will take a few weeks to come back to normal. Thank you for letting me know. Enjoy her. Jx Km, your welcome hun, I hope you have a normal delovery and everything goes well for you hun. x Yes please let me know how you get on. Jx

Hi there! Im 31 + 6 weeks pregnant, and have lost a lot of mucus over the last few days, and last nights was very bloody. Ive been checked out at hospital, and my cervix is closed and my uterus is "quiet" I was just wondering though, does this increase my chances of going earlier though? Or am i still as likely to go over-due like i did with my other 2?

Jenni, had you had intercourse? It could be a little bit of your plug, but that doesn't mean you will go into labour early, it will just be replaced with more plug. But obviously I can say for sure. Best wishes Jules x

No, it was a day and a half (at least) after having sex. It was the blood that worried me, there was a gush of it & it was bright red. Thanks for your reply xx

Teri, I would assume that if you had to be induced the previous 2 times there is a high chance that you will need to be induced this time, but that is not 100% guarentee, as you know every pregnancy is different, but if I would have to hazered a guess, I would guess that you may need to be induced. Best wishes Jules x

Hi Jules, Hope you are well. I have a bizarre question for you i'm afraid. For the past week I have had the most terrible pain in my left foot and leg, its like an electric shock that comes and goes but is sooooooooo painful its had me booing. Been to the GP who tested for a DVT, which it isn't but he doesn't have a clue what it is. Spoken to my midwife who hasn't a clue either but said it could possibly be a trapped nerve. Went to the walk in centre aswell but a nurse just hung her head and said baby wouldn't be big enough to be pressing on any nerves yet, measured my legs and said go back to your gp. My hands and wrists have been slightly painful the past day or two aswell as my other foot as started twinging. All the time I sit with leg/foot up its fine but as soon as I start walking it starts again. Have you got any ideas as to what it could be and do you think it could be pregnancy related??? Its on the inside on my leg/foot. I thought maybe some sort of siatica but doesn't that start further up??? This isn't any further up than my knee most of the time and most of the time its just my foot that hurts. Its so painful and i'm dreading trying to go back to work tomorrow. Ive been off for the past week with flu and the foot. Any advice would be so gratfully received, i'm at my wits end with it. I know you can get carpol tunnel syndrome when pregnant any chance you can get something like that but feet related???? clutching at straws I know. Hugs Pobs xxx

Pobs, Do you have any swelling too? I'm thinking water retention that can cause pressure on the nerves too. Other than that hun I too don't have a clue, sorry. I hope it eases off soon for you hun, but keep going back to the GP and ask him to refer you if it carries on. Jules x Kate, yes it is perfectly normal as your cervix never goes back to its normal pre 1st pregnancy state. Jules x Mumto2, You are not hurting the baby, but you have to be careful that it doesn't get infected, you are best to go and get it checked out, I understand that the dentist is not your favourite place, but its better for you than staying in pain hun. Jules x
