firstly welcome Juniper!! Im having my 2nd baby also, did you find out what your having or is it a suprise?? this will be my 2nd son

Mandy...that castle sounds lovely! we used to go castle hunting when I was younger, I loved the ones in ruins as I loved climbing! My brackston hicks dont seem to be as bad for some reason. I didnt see much of the baby in the scan, as he had his back towards my belly. got to see the heartbeat though, and his bum, and top of his head lol!!!

well, time to sort ds out for bed

Hi guys,
Am finally here to do a catch up! So sorry for going AWOL, but we stayed in London longer than we thought (after the funeral) and we have been out every night. People are so kind and we have been taken out for dinner 3 times in the past week! I seem to be busier than ever now I'm on hol - not sure how I managed to fit work in!!!

Michie - how is it going? I'm so glad your hol was so great! Just what you needed! Does it seem like ages ago now? Glad bubs is so active - and that you got another scan! Cool! Thanks for keeping us updated on the July/Aug thread - can't believe it's us next!!!!

Jo - how are you? Are you still exhausted? How's your back now? When do your children break up? Glad your daughter's new teacher was nice! What lovely gifts you got from your neighbour!!! Amazing!! And... can you believe we're on the penultimate picture on our ticker!!!

Mandy - hope you're well? If iI'm not mistaken, this is your first week of mat leave! How does it feel?!! How are your Braxton Hicks now? I also had a day when I thought they were something more, as they were coming often and strong! Hope you enjoy the picnic!

Juniper - welcome!!

Well, I'm fine, just rather tired and slow!! My 28 week bloods got lost (grr), so I had to do them again. Anyway, my iron levels are a little low, so I have to go to the doc this am - and my glucose level was marginally high, so I have to go to the hospital in a couple of weeks for another test!! I saw the midwife yesterday - all well there. I have nice low blood pressure (100/60), urine was all clear, good strong heartbeat - and measuring 32+!!! Baby is now breech!! I felt it turn!!!!!! Hope it turns back!! It is very active now and always on the move!!

If you still need baby stuff, I recommend going to www.boots.com, as they are having LOADS of specials on baby stuff and triple points! I got my Baby Bjorn Active for £55, free delivery and got over £10 of points back!!

Am hoping the iron tabs I am sure I'll be prescribed today will pick me up a bit, as I am feeling v low in energy - and keep dropping off!!

Petal: Welcome back It sounds like you spend alot of time in London, you must like the hustle and bustle lol. Grrrr about losing your last lot of bloods, thats not too clever especially if you dont like the needle . I will be checking out boots website shortly as we have managed to put abit away now to get the final baby items in one last purchase . The new mothercare catalogue is out soon (just had an email) so must get my blue elephant set from toys r us before they bring out there autumn/winter stock

I have recently had my 31+ antenatal check.....all is very again. She says im carrying really well and to carry on doing whatever ive being doing lol. Measuring exactly 31 1/2wks. Baby is head down ( I hope he doesnt move postion because I really felt it when he turned into that postion!) and she also said that having alot of braxton hicks (as I have over the last few days) is a sign to SLOW DOWN ladies so please bear that in mind. I have my next appointment in 3wks for more bloods and then they are every 2wks!!!!!!!!!!!! arrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggghhhhhhhh

Well kids school are on strike tomorrow and thurs so I will have my hands full with 4 children all day then my two break up 1:30 on friday. It will be my last day of looking after two lovely lil girls on thursday so hope ive got enough energy to get painting/cooking/playing so they have a fab last day and then.............feet up for a whole 6weeks

omg the weeks are flying by!! I cant believe how quick this pregnancy is going!!
But Im in a bit of a dilemma. I cant sleep, and its driving me up the walls!! I just toss and turn all night
Im back to work today after 3 weeks off, Im in from 1 until 9pm, and Im dreading it. Im tired already this morning from lack of sleep. Oh and my craving for Ice has really started now, and we ran out last night, much to my despair!! On the plus side, Ive only 15 working days left
Petal...my baby is breech at the moment too. I thought he may have moved, but now I dont think so, as Im still getting little kicks to the back of my pelvis. Most of the movements I get feel like a shoulder, arm etc rubbing by my belly, which is amazing! DP was amazed when e felt it. Grr to the hosp losing your bloods!! I hope that doesnt happen me! I just got the glucose test done, and I dont fancy sitting around for a few hours again Im sooo tired and slow aswell, everything is an effort, and I felt like crying over being so tired from lack of sleep. roll on maternity leave so I can start taking naps lol!!
Jo....Glad your antenatel check went well! My next one is in 3 weeks, but Ive to see the doctor next week, as we split the visits with hospital and doctor over here. Nothing much happens at the doctors though, they just check heartbeat,blood pressure, and do a urine test. My brackston hicks dont seem to be as strong anymore, I wonder if thats a good sign?

well thats me for today...going to go get the house sorted before I head to work, as dp wouldnt think of doing it , he thinks tidying is just the dishes!! lol!!!

Hi girls!

Sounds as if you both have busy days today, Michie and Jo!! I have to admit, I have just got up - it's the first day since school finished (on 4th July) that I haven't had the alarm set to get up early and go dashing off, so I thought I'd take advantage of it! Also, we were out at a friend's house for dinner last night till midnight, so I was sleepy!!

Jo - hope your last few busy days go quickly and then you can put your feet up! It was interesting what you said about Brax Hicks being a sign to slow down... I was getting LOADS, but now I am trying to take things a bit easier they have calmed down. Yes, I do go to London a lot, as my parents are there and I want to see as much of them and my siblings as possible before the baby arrives!! Having said that, despite growing up in London, I am not a London girl at all!!

Michie - poor you not sleeping. Have you tried the bath, warm drink routine etc? I find my lavender sleep spray very good. Also, I could not be without my full length body pillow, as it supports all of me and makes me so comfy I can't help but sleep! Really hope you get some sleep soon - you must be exhausted. Hope your first day back at work isn't too bad - not long now!!


Hi Mandy - how are things with you?

Well, the doc gave me iron tabs (yuck) and confirmed that my little monkey is breech! Really hope it turns! Was your first son breech, Michie?

I am making a list of the last things we need to buy, but was delighted to get the mobile I wanted yesterday for half price at TK Maxx!! They also had some Baby Einstein toys at great prices too!!

Oh - and what do you girls think of raspberry leaf tea? Have you taken it before? When should I start?

Right - having not been here for a while, I keep writing essays now I'm back!!

Sorry just needed to get that off my chest.

As I have mentioned I have 4 yes 4 children under my feet today and wheres the sun when you need it?????!!!!!! my back garden is out of bounds because as we speak it is being slabbed and bark put down so we can have a climbing frame put in.......in through the nose.......out through my mouth.......breath...

Michie: Im feeling the fatigue mate, theres nothing worse than lack of sleep being tired and having lil ones to find the energy for aswell. I had a bad nights kip a couple of nights ago, kept waking up then needing the toilet im sure you know how it goes so last night I did the whole bath, hot choc and 10pm bed and I slept all night and I know i'll sleep all night tonight aswell I hope your day at work goes quickly for you, I imagine you'll feel it more the first day back especially after having 3wks off.

Petal: Happy to hear your braxton hicks are settling down abit. Hope you can take things a little easier from now on

Im being pulled and called from every direction so maybe coming on here wasnt a good idea after all (thought I could escape for 1/2hour)

I am so sorry for the delay, my home internet connection is not working and it's hard to get the chance to come online at work.Michie, i am 25 weeks and 3 days, due on 26th October, 1st child, gender is a surprise. I can't wait for maternity leave.

Jo..4 kids :O poor you!! Im lucky as my ds doesnt demand too much from me, thank goodness. I like your bath and hot chocolate idea, I might try that!! I hope you got some time to yourself after that hectic day xxxx
Petal...lavender spray sounds good too!! I did sleep LOVELY last night, and woke up very chirpy, so I hope that I keep sleeping well. Your breech aswell? So am I, but Im hoping he will turn soon. I wasn't breech with ds, but he was back to back. A woman I worked with told me when a breech baby turns, you definitely know it has happened as it feels really really weird, and uncomfortable. Ive a doctor visit tuesday, so I will check is he still breech then. I got my steriliser in tk maxx for half price too!! There is some great bargains!!
Oh and I researched the raspberry leaf tea, it should be taken from week 32, and not before, and from what I read, it tones your uterus, ready for the big day. it helps regulate contractions quicker, and they are supposed to be less painful. I am definitely giving it a go!
Mandy...how are you hun? how long have you left till maternity leave now? im finished the 26th august, yay!!! When are you getting your date for your c-section?
right, Im off to bed....I hope I sleep tonight too

Michie - really glad to hear that you've had a good couple of nights sleep! Long may it last! I really do find lavender helps - am going to buy some more for my labour bag! Thanks for the rasp leaf tea research - will be buying some v soon!

I sometimes get a numb leg/bottom ( !) in the night - v annoying, but apart from that, I am sleeping very well. Am also feeling v heavy when I turn over!!

Jo - the climbing frame sounds great - bet you'll be glad when it's done, though! Is today your last day of work?! Hope so!!

Mandy and Curvalicious - how are you guys?

Well, the cot and car seat base arrived yesterday - so exciting!! We are having new carpets in 10 days, so will put the cot up sometime after that! I now need a few more baby gros, some stuff for my hosp bag, nursing bras, and a nursing chair!! How about you lot?

Right - off to tidy up, then off for a coffee with a friend later.
