Sorry - me again - pg brain making me forgetful!! (well, that's my excuse!! )

I meant to say to Lea, that I went through a stage of lucozade addiction too - as it gave me energy and stopped me feeling sick. I read up that it's fine to have up to a good few glasses a day to keep within caffeine guidelines. I have not had any other caffeine, so felt , on balance, it was ok. I tried to keep to one glass a day and that seemed to do the trick. I have now weaned myself off it - but it was a lifesaver at the time!!Pxx

V quiet on here!!

Had my nuchal scan tonight - and I have a
1: 13,000 chance of having a baby with Down's syndrome (i.e v low risk),so we are very happy about that!

Baby has grown 5mm since Monday!!! It was moving around again - I just LOVE seeing it on the screen - don't know how I'll wait 7 weeks till my next scan!! Am now booked in for 20, 28 and 36 week scans, which feels good!

It was so lovely today as we saw the 4 chambers of baby's heart, its "butterfly" brain, its bladder and its little fingers - so clearly defined! This made me melt!!

Anyway, the doc said our result couldn't be better (based on my age alone it was 1:671, which was fine, but now it's 1:13,000!) so we're thrilled - but best of all was seeing that beautiful little baby we have made!!

Hi Petal..I agree it is quiet on here this evening isn't it.. But the site has been crashing loads while ive been on it today so maybe that has something to do with it!

So happy for you that you have had a good result on the nuchal scan.. its such a relief when all these tests and scans can be ticked off the list!

And seeing baby on the screen never ceases to amaze me!! no matter how many you have it never feels any different.. that little miracle inside us just there! so perfect!
Well, i wont get to see my little man now until its born! only 17 weeks to go!! cant wait!!

Just a quick post to Petal. I am so pleased for you that the Scan & Nuchal Scan went well and your little bean is nice and healthy. I can't believe you are almost 13 weeks now!

Petal...yay to ur nucheal scan going so well!! Im chuffed for ya!!! Im going for my sex determination scan on the Sunday 30th March. then i have my normal scan on 14th april. then 4d scan at 22 weeks Im a happy camper :P

Petal.....great to hear all went well at scan and to see baby has grown over a short period of time must be very reassuring for you both.

Michie......Hope your not working too hard!

Nobody has mentioned sickness recently, does this mean its slowly subsiding?? any other symptoms yet? cravings? good or bad hair days??

All is well with myself oh there is a question actually, michie...when you have your 4d scan are you finding out the sex of baby? and is this at an extra charge?? The centre we might go to is charging £95 for a 20min dvd and pics but an extra £30 if we want to find out the sex which i personally think is disgusting. It will be a train and taxi job for us aswell so that straight away bumps up the price, just wondering

Sorry just read your last post and your having a seperate sexing scan, do you mind me asking if you have to pay for this where you live? Its £50 if I have it done at the local hospital but we've already been told that if they cant see what it is we still have to pay the fee!!! which is why we've opted for the 4d scan. What would you do????

Jo...I love gory films too. I went to see saw 4 the night it came out in the cinemas. A group of teenagers had snuck in and it was impossible to watch the film properly, i will have to rent it out soon. I think its pretty bad that you still have to pay the fee for your sexing scan if they cant tell what youre having


Petal...congrats on your nuchal scan hun! im so happy for you both. The reasurrance is always brilliant to have. Thanks too for the reply to my lucozade question, its been worrying me so much but it really is the only thing helping me at the moment.

jollyjo....i dont know if my local hospital charge for finding out the sex? But when i rang for my 4d scan in a seperate hospital, they said its 125 euro for a 2d sex determination scan, then u get 20% off the 4d scan which is 195 euro before the discount. They also said you pay after the scan, but only if your happy with it. thats terrible that your hospital still make you pay if they cant determine the sex!!

Lea...im sooo glad ur starting to feel better, now you can enjoy your pregnancy!!

Am up bright and early as I have a very (too!) busy weekend ahead of me! Off to London today to see la famille, have lunch with one of my best friends and have my hair done! (I look a right state!) Then tomorrow it's marking, planning and writing reports - yuck!! What are you all up to?

Michie - glad your scans are in the pipeline - that feels good, doesn't it? Don't work too hard - don't know how you manage to work till 9pm - I'm out for the count by then!!

Jo - yes, sickness is definitely on its way out of the building - hooray!! Have you decided what to do about the scan? It's a bit cheeky, isn't it about paying extra if they can't tell!

Lea - glad you are feeling better. Your next scan must be coming up soon? When is it? Bet you can't wait for the reassurance...

Michie....Thanks for getting back to me about the scan. My mom is adament that she will pay for the 4d scan so im just going to pay the extra £30 to find out the sex. Mom is more excited about it than I am at the moment as she only got to have 1 scan with my brother many moons ago

Lea..... Glad to read you are feeling much better, lets hope it continues for you. Has your sickness also left you?

Im fine although for some reason im sitting here yawning my head off! I know its WAY too early to buy a pushchair yet but has anyone found any they like yet? I found 2 but everyone around here seem to have the same colours (browns and creams) so I know the style I want but I want it in BRIGHT RED heehee. Spent some time trawling the internet to find one but the only colour that they do that noone here has got is white!! and im definatly not brave enough to buy one in white

Well id better go and make some lunch and then we're off to Pets At Home to stock up on guinea-pig food and toys! followed by food shopping yawwwwnnnnn I have decided to make a concious (sp) effort to be romantic this evening because last night we had an early night with a film and what did I go and do.....fall fast asleep

We were languishing at the bottom of the list!!

Hope you've all had good weekends?

Mine has been good (well yesterday anyway!) but today has been yawnsville - reports, work, washing etc. Am exhausted!!!

Also now have been told I have low blood pressure, which makes me feel a bit wobbly!!

Had my hair done on Saturday and had a freak out, as I thought it looked pink!! (highlights!) Have now calmed down, but am a bit suspicious!! I have heard preg can change how your hair reacts to things!!

Ok - am off for bath, then bed - happy 2nd trimester too, Jo!
