hello to everyone, [?]i am new and wanted to ask when will i have a normal period after having my implant out. my doctor couldn't say so left me well confused. had implant removed on 17/01/06, but last period was on 29/12/05 while i still had implant, so do i take this as a normal period? reason for this question is that i want to see if my periods are regular because i want to plan for a baby and need to know if im regular because i wasn't with the implant. can any one help????.

Hiya

If it's the Implanon that you are talking about you should go back to however you were before you had it. Mine were like clockwork at the end of every month, and they returned straight to that.

Hope that helps.

thanks Nene, but another question i wanted to ask was when should i expect my periods to return? its just that my AF'S aint bin regular for years as i was on either the pill, depo, then implant till it was removed, so do not know when to expect it. If you could help on this one much appreciated, ginge[Big Grin]

hey guys, I'm from the 2ww thread.
Basically the implanon drugs are out of your system 24 hours after it is removed. your cycle should start straight away, either from scratch or continuing on from your periods on implanon (if you had them). Should get a period within a month assuming you were regular before. I would wait for the first one before ttc as you dates are easier to work out. When I had mine out I was spotting all the time. Got a normal peroid about 2 weeks later.
This quick return to normal is the big advantage of implanon over depo... hope this helps
