Hi everyone! New here and I'm getting my mirena taken out on March 13th 2008. I have a 5 yr old son Alex. I'm in a new relationship and my BF and I decided we would like to get pregnant soon. Smiler I am 34 and he is 33 on on March 11th.

Never had much side effects with Mirena but still had AF every month.. just very light but longer. Hoping that I will be like most of you and get pregnant in a couple of months. Question for you ladies.. Anyone have their AF on Mirena? .. and how long did it take to get your BFP? Thanks for all the posts!

Babydust to all!

I really could use some help or advice on this subject I was on the merina for about 2 years after which we decided to try and get pregnant again I have two children in which I had no issues at all in conceiving it happened really quickly.

We have been trying for 8 months now with no success. I am getting really frustrated now. I am 31 and wondering if something is wrong with me thought maybe I was getting to old.

After reading some posts on here I am thinking maybe it might be the merina and am wondering if anyone took this long and if there are things that can help me get my body back on track. I have been getting regular periods every month but they aren't as heavy as they where before merina. any help or advice would be greatly appreciated

I used to have heavy periods before getting the coil fitted, after 2 years of having it in we decided we wanted to try for another baby, so had it removed. It's been 14 months since, and we still haven't managed to conceive. My periods are still very light, and the doctor told me she thinks i'm not ovulating, or even producing eggs due to the fact that the hormone could still be in my body. If nothing has happened by the spring, i was told to go back to the doctors for tests or whatever. Just wanted to wish you goodluck in the trying to conceive, and hope all goes well for you!

can anyone give me some advice please!!!x I had my coil removed last weds, by sat I had started bleeding ( my period I thought!) but it wasnt heavy enough to use tampons and i have now seem to be spotting. My usual period date before i had my coil put in (2.5 years ago) was around the 20th of each month. Is this my period that i have now? (very very very light!) Is it worth still trying for a baby now?

Lucy - Nah.. I don't think it is..

I had mine out in March (last month) and I had some light bleeding for about 3 days after. Then I had my AF two weeks later.. Almost nothing there too.

So I would wait to see if you have a good AF this month before trying. Did you bleed at all while on Mirena? I did. But very light AF. Lasted maybe 4 days. Only used pantie liners.

I'm taking Arginine (helps with uterine lining) for the next couple of months to thicken up my lining. I say if you're gonna bleed .. you might as well bleed enough to use a real pad a day Wink

Thicker lining also means that eggie will have much more to hang onto when it does come around to nestle in Smiler

Good luck and much babydust!!

Hi Lucyloo!!
I too was sitting a few months ago like you with the same questions that's why I started this post. Like you I never had a period while I had the mirena coil fitted no problems either but I had a lot of questions that I needed answered when I was ttc. I was told by the Dr. to ttc as soon as the coil was removed I asked when I had very light spotting for a few days was this my period and was told that it was because when your periods stopped for so long that there wasn't a build up of blood to come out. ( I know too much information)I bought ovulation test's and found they were a great help as it took the scary feeling of maybe not ovulating because of the coil away. I am now due in 11 weeks so GOODLUCK!! and RELAX!!

Hi ladies, sorry to butt in on ur post, but just wanted to give u my mirena story...

I had my mirena for just over 2 yrs, had no visits from af at all during that time. I had it removed late last year. My first cycle was almost 7 weeks! Eeker

Then they went to 31, 30, then on the fourth, it would have been a 28 days cycle, but I got my bfp 2 days before af was due.

Just wanted to post cos I know I read all the mirena threads when I had mine removed, and was cheered up no end by every success story I read!!

Anyway, good luck to you all, bear with it, af will settle in it's own time, and in the mean time, enjoy the practise!! Wink Big Grin

Much love and babydust

Sal

Hi all I had my merina out beginning of march its just over 5 weeks and still no AF so thanks to sally for your story it gives us hope Smiler

Lucyloo i think its a case of just relaxing and letting your body adjust I had the most awful stomach cramps after my merina was removed thought it was defo an AF all I have had is light pink spotting for 5 days after it was removed but if you look through these threads theres a lot of people in the same boat as us so we are not alone and it works out good in the end!!

Anyway fingers crossed for our bodies hey!!!
