Hiya ladies, just wanted to inform you all of whats been going on and maybe this could have happened to you!
Last night David went out to get cash from the atm machine and rang me saying it wouldn't give him any money. Anyway, I knew there was quite a bit in this account so he came back to get some cash I had and I rang the telephone banking to speak to cust servs. They told me that all the cash machines were down this was HSBC I was speaking to but she said most banks were having this problem and that it should be sorted shortly.
Anyway, ive just checked our balance and the money he went to draw out has been debited but he didnt get this money as he kept getting an error message!
So ive just rang the HSBC for them to investigate and the nice man on the phone said theyve had so many calls today regarding this and that he will put in a dispute for me.
So ladies check your statements cos I would hate for people to lose out on money they haven't actually had!!

Vicky, this happened to my mum and dad last year with HSBC. After waiting about 4 weeks HSBC decided that my mum and dad would have to prove they didn't have the money from the atm!!! My dad told them to prove they had recieved the money, and told them to check the cctv equipment they claim to have at each atm. HSBC refunded the money straight away. So just in case they try the same on you, bear the cctv thing in mind.
Hiya Kate thanks for this info will bear it in mind if they have a dispute over it.
Well I was just saying on the weight loss forum that a few years ago I stupidly walked away from the machine without taking the money! I realised about 30 mins later and panicked and frantically phoned them up! Luckily because there was no-on behind me the machine took the money back in and so the machine showed £20 up and they recredited me almost immediately. Im so hoping is the same situation! Its only £20 but thats not the point is it!
