Anyone know anything about 'low sperm counts' or treatment? DH and I have been TTC for well over 12 months now without any joy. DH had sperm analysis test a week ago and phoned doctors for results on Thurs - receptionist couldn't tell him anything other than the doctor wants to see him. (Got appointment for Tues pm - the wait is killing me). Although we don't know if sperm analysis shows a low count or a problem yet I just wondered if anyone had any helpful tips/advice just in case. DH doesn't want to discuss in any detail until we have the results on Tues, which I understand.
Thanks all xx

lizzi...if it turns out your DH has a low sperm count then ...make him wear boxer shorts...eat tuna and chicken (protien increases sperm),stop smoking, stop alcohol,DO NOT use a jaccusii or a steam room, and have sex about 3x a week xx

Hi Zinc is great too.

A lack of zinc can reduce testosterone levels. For men with low testosterone levels, zinc supplementation raises testosterone and also increases fertility. For men with low semen zinc levels, zinc supplements may increase both sperm counts and fertility. Most studies have infertile men take zinc supplements for at least several months. The ideal amount of supplemental zinc remains unknown, but some doctors of natural medicine recommend 25 mg three times per day.

Lizzie - Good luck for tuesday hun.

Lorraine - I didn't know that about Zinc, some brilliant information there.

My friend is TTC at the moment and her partner had cancer when he was younger, he had to have some treatment to kill the cancer and was told that he may not be able to have children, do you think Zinc is worth trying?

Love Jen x [:X]

Hi
Turns out that DH has slightly low motility count, his was 38% but they like it to be 50% or over. Can be stress related so if another sample was provided it may be different. We have to keep TTC for another 4-6mths and if no joy then referral to fertility centre for possible 'assisted conception'. Meanwhile, I've read that Proxeed is beneficial for improving sperm - does anyone know anything about this?
Thanks xx [Smiler]
