Hi, It depends on your pre-pregnancy weight as to how much you can put on. If you r overweight you should only put on a maximum of around 25lbs but if your weight is ok, you can put on around 35lb. I have to say, I think this is a load of rubbish because many overweight women, are more prone to put on weight. My BMI was 26 which puts me in the overweight category and I am 35wks pg and have put on about 26lbs already. Not sure how much u lose straight away after birth but it is never as much as you think you should! After my last pg, my weight eventually came off but it took about 6mth! Hope that helps! Chele
