well, a little bit about me. im 30 (goin on 50 at times), mum of 4 boys 14, 12, 10 and 8 and my baby girl who is 3 in jan now in a relationship with a lovely man after being a single mum for nearly 4 years (daughter was accident with a mate). my partner mark has 4 boys but they dont live with us. had implant fitted in feb 05, op in june 06 to remove ovary and cyst from other one, implant removed and mirena coil fitted in april 07. after 7 months the coil came out itself (nov 2nd) so we decided now seemed a good time to ttc. a lot of people are against us trying due to me being quite ill recently (on the mend now) and because between us we have 10 kids! i dont see a problem, im a good mum and mark has been fantastic with my kids (my daughter started calling him daddy last week) and we can provide so much love to a child. ive never actually ttced before as all of mine just happened (i thought for years that taking my knickers off got me pregnant and not a man!lol) but this time its different cos we decided we want one im on another site with 29 mums and mums to be but only 4 were ttc and 2 fell pregnant this week so i feel all alone. totally lost but trying to figure out charts and stuff. its a little complicated as im not sure when af is due anymore cos bled so much when coil came out. anyway, ive rattled on longer than i meant to but please, feel free to message me with any advice xx sarah xx

There is no reason for you to feel alone. If you go on to the 2ww thread we are all trying for a baby and all are there for a little extra support. Alot of the girls have been trying a long time some get pregnant straight away but it is nice to not go through it alone. Especially if there are any questions or worries you have the girls on there have some good advice. Come on over i'm sure someone has had the coil removed and will be able to tell you how long your regular cycles take to get to normal. I wouldn't worry you can obviously conceive but come and join us for a bit of support. xxxxxxxxxxx

hi orkers....im ttc #2. my son is 3, nearly 4, he was an accident with an ex. tried to make it work out but we split up just before his first bday. Im with my new partner 2 years, he treats him like his own. Had the mirena coil for 3 years.kept ovulating though, had period on 17th oct, mirena removed 26th oct, ovulated 4th nov. had loads of symptoms this month, but unfortunately got period today. gutted. we are on the 2ww thread. u will have plenty of company there xx
hiya lorraine hun was feeling pretty bad today to be honest but think the sadness has turned to pure anger (post on 2ww) met a few really nice girls here now so its great to be able to come on and actually cry if thats what i feel like doing! its been wet here too but drying up now. typical when we just get home for lunch! lol xx

I have been on the coil for many years now and had it taken out several times when ttc and it has taken me roughly 3 or 4 months afterwards to fall pregnant. (i supppose cycle has to settle down). I found ovulation strips helped me to pinpoint ovulation. Certainly worked this month. I am now 5 weeks and 1 day and this is my fifth ages from 17 down to 17 months.
Hope this helps.

no I didn't take anything and last bleed was actually a miscarriage at 6 weeks so I didn't know if it counted as an actual period and didn't think I stood a chance this month as some advice is to wait for a few months to give womb wall a chance to thicken up again so a little worried but a good feeling this time. thats why I did the ovulation strips cos I wasn't sure when to count on from.

my coil came out on 2nd, i bled from 3rd til 8th and then from 10th til 17th (this would have been when period was actually due when i had coil in!) ive had nothing since but ov tests have been neg and doc told me to could the first bleed as af but doing that the ovulation side of things didnt work out! started the ov tests yesterday, the folic acid today and tomorrow i start temps and angus cactus. if that dont give my body a kick i guess nothing will. i have been told my lining is quite thick which is why i bled so much. apparently its cos ive had 5 children so my body is more prepared and they say cos i nearly always get spotting during ovulation then i should start getting reg again sooner rather than later. i know when i get af they are gonna be bloody evil but hopefully they wont be for too long many thanks for your help and support and sending lots of sticky glue your way xxx

sending tra sticky glue xxxxx do u know if you ovulated during ur mirena??? im nearly sure i did, got cramps mid cycle, for one day. also my periods got lighter, but by no means stopped. i thought that would be a good sign, as my body wouldnt have changed much??? im so glad i seen ur post, as ive just read some horrible mirena stories on another thread, had to stop reading them i didnt bleed after getting mirena out, no pain getting it out. he did say it was bent though. last period was 17th oct, got mirena out 26th oct, ovulated 4th nov. af today. so my cycle seems perfect. hopefully ill be back to normal soon, so i can wreck the normality and get pg lol!!!
i'm sorry but I just realised doh that you had a mirena in. I didn't, just an ordinary one so I don't know how much difference that makes. I don't know that much about mirenas.
