Hi, just wondering if anyone is or has been in a similar situation.

I had a natural m/c (no d&c) at the end of august. I bled constant for a week, from 26th aug to 3rd sept, then bleeding stopped completely. My cycle is very regular (30 days) and i had unprotected sex while i would have been ovualting. I have done many hpt, all which have showed up positive, then urine test showed up negative at doctors, then went home done another hpt which was a definite positive. Could this be a viable pregnancy or could it just be that there are still high levels of hcg in my system from the first pregnancy???

Anyone got any advice???

Am so sorry for your loss honey...I hope you are looking after yourself...

After a natural miscarriage what happens is the body expells any products of conception through the bleeding process however even after the bleeding stops there could still be some residual HCG(pregnancy hormone) in the body which can give a positive on HPT's. Even if you had regular cycles before the miscarriage, this cycle will probably be different and slightly longer as it will take a while for you to start ovulating again. Effectively the levels have to be at zero before your true cycle can begin.

Basically can you give us a timeframe on when you did the HPTs? You could be pregnant and the Test they do in the doctors hasn't picked it up as these are less sensitive than the home pregnancy tests... Did the doctor advise you on what way to proceed? Alternatively your HCG levels could still not be at zero and until they are your body will not start the mechanics to ovulate.

I had a test done in doctors on 3rd september which showed up negative. Hpt have been done in the last week. On 3rd september doctor just advised that i could start trying right away, then yesterday when urine test was negative in doctors, he just said that i wasn't pregnant even thou a hpt the previous evening showed up positive.
Think i will make an appointment for blood test to make sure. Will keep you informed.

hi hun i think i would do the same at least with a blood test you will get a answer definately.
I had a m/c (same as you no d&c) in may 07 but then concieved DS in the next cycle,
the best thing you can do is the blood test or you will drive yourself insane!!

hey all ive had a few phantom pregnancies over the last yr and still no bfp..recently me n db b'd whilst i was on af which was on cd 4 n 5..i believe i ovulated around cd 10/11..could it be possible i could be pregnant? ive started gettin cramps in lower abdomen bt nt like af pains..ive also checkedn cp is high n firm..also feeling nauseous, tired, had watery cm (sorry tmi) and i'm quite gassy..any info would be great whilst i'm on the hopeful 2ww xxx
