Hi

Does anybody know what it is to be bleeding out of your nipples?
I phoned my m/w up & she told me to go to my docs asap....so I've got an appointment at 4.

It's kinder scary...I hope the baby will be okay!

Has anybody had this before ??

Thanks for any advice

I bled but that was after the baby was born and my nipples cracked.

Let us know what the doc says.

Hi

My Doctor said he doesn't know what it is, & he never even examined me!

I have a rash around my aerola now too...I'm guessing it's just an infection. I see my m/w on thursday so i'll ask her.

This Doctor was meant to be an emergency Doctor....I thought doctors are meant to know these things?

I've just bought some nipple soothing cream from Mothercare so lets hope it works.

Thanks for your concern.

Sorry to hear of your problems. I don't hold much faith in Doctors if any, I'm sure your mw will be of far more help to you.

Best Wishes

Hi I am sorry to hear that the doctor had no idea what it is. I wonder if it could be thrush as you can get this in the nipples. I hope that the midwife can help you. Try to not worry.

Best Wishes

Hi thanks for your kind advice

I finally know the cause of the problem, Iam allergic to the breast pads I've been using called (Nuk)

They're the cause of the rash, which was making my nipple very itchy & irritable....and with me given in and roking them....thats what was causing them to bleed.

I got some nipple cream from mothercare and that helps soothe them

plus I've been told I can get sensitive pads from tesco's or boots.

who'd thought you can be allergic to breast pads? LoL

My m/w has made me an appointment with the nurse to be checked out just to be sure it's nothing sinester.

Thanks for your advice.

Ouch poor you. I must admit I used the Tesco ones with my two and will again this time. I am not needing to wear them yet, I only leak a little in the bath. Are you leaking all the time hun? I hope that you are ok.

Take Care

Love Lorraine. xx
