Hi All! It's Saturday night and I'm looking at all the websites involving babies and getting caught up in the whole Prenancy thing! My boyfriend and I haven't been trying for a baby for that long and for that I'm thankful, but now that it's all happened, it's all a bit of a blur really! We did a test on Monday & then confirmed it with one on the Tuesday (the lines were faint and we wanted to double check) and then went to the Doctors on Wednesday (which didn't really help cause they don't do a test to tell you that yours was right!) I think I expected bells ringing to announce it all or something!!! Now I keep getting paranoid wondering if the 2 tests we've done were correct & what happens if they aren't!!??? Has anyone else every thought the same??? I was just wondering if I was the only one to freak out at such an early stage in my Pregnancy???
Ta for now - think I should go join the boyfriend and be sociable Speak soon Emma

The doctors don't do pregnancy tests because the NHS ones are much less reliable than the shop brought ones. I use the NHS ones at work and you have to be at least a week late before anything shows positive - whereas the shop brought ones can show a positive before your period is even late, something to do with the hormone HCG and the levels of it, I think.
It is VERY rare to get a false positive on a pregnancy test as if you are not pregnant that hormone isn't there. Unfortunately when it happens its usually one of those pregnancys that wasn't meant to be. Iguess the ability to test so early has both a good and a bad side.
That said - whoo hoo you got a positive - your PREGGERS!!! Welcome to the club! Congratulations to you both.

Thanks Jules you've put my mind at rest! You must be so excited about Friday - do you know whether it's a boy or girl yet?? Have you thought of any names? My boyfriend has thought up some weird ones already that I'm gonna have to try and talk him out of!!!
If I don't speak to you before Friday GOOD LUCK & let me know how it goes & whether you have a beautiful boy or girl!
Take care Love Emma x

I'm getting very impatient waiting - have a feeling that friday is going to come and go without event. Im feeling like a beached whale - I struggle to get up from the sofa.
The 20 week scan suggested its a girl - but 'she' wasn't being very helpful - she was all curled up. So they plumped for girl on the basis that they couldn't see any boy parts. So we think its a girl - but we won't be surprised if its a boy.
I'll let you know...
Jules
