Hi does anyone have any experience of using an opk as a hpt? We are trying for a baby and i am currently 6dpo and have used a opk this morning and there are 2 visable lines though one is much stronger than the other.
Just wondered if this is a good sign that i could be pregnant, what do you guys think?
Thanks Fairy x

Hi Fairy and orkers. I've got this information on using opk's as I had bought a mixture of opk and hpts and then thought i'd have a go and see if it worked. Two lines will come up if you are pregnant but it can also mean you have ovulated again so it can work but you should use a pregnancy test to be absoulutely sure.
a lot of women have a surge of LH prior to AF showing up so it really is a waste of tests using them as hpts unless you have lots of cheapies around to play with. When you get a line on a hpt you can always do one then for fun though. I have seen so many upset having had a line on a LH test only to race out and buy a hpt for it to be negative, good luck!

That is true Crumble. I would never rely on a opk to tell anyone that they are pregnant. I was just messing about with an opk to see if it would show up. A hpt is the way to go. Trad
