Ok Ladies, just bit the bullet and set up the thread. Can be used in tandem with the 12 months plus thread as some of fit into both categories, me included. Thought we could start with a few intros as to who we are, family situation i.e. any kids and how long we have been trying for. Fell free to include charts if you want...

I'll go first.....

My name is Lisa, I'm from Northern Ireland, married and TTC number 1 since October 2006. One miscarriage in December 2007. Have just started taking EPO 1000mg per day to see if this helps with EWCM and hubby is going tee-total for a while not that we drink that much but will try anything. CD 8 for me today and chart below.

Hi billy and lisa

How are you both? Good to see you back Billy.

I am 38 today, hubby is away tonight and doc rang to say I have lupus but that shouldn't prevent me from being able to have another child but like I said we are having one more try and then thats it. I feel bloody old today. I'm still not dressed but I will soon and Liam is making me tacos for a birthday tea so I must get on. Lazy woman that I am.

Morning Ladies, thank goodness its Friday is right Billy, amd so tired this week!!

Tra, have you only been diagnosed with Lupus? Are they intending to put you on any meds or is it inactive? Did a small trawl on internet there now and found this link which may be of interest. Happy belated Birthday to you and don't feel old, age is only number!! Hope you enjoyed the Tacos!!!

http://www.babycentre.co.uk/preconception/beforeyoubegi...puswhattoknowexpert/

Billy, you are not being nosey, thats usually my job!!! We haven't really done anything as we fell pregnant just on the cusp of 13 months, i.e. just before we would have went to doctors for tests. I'm sort of hoping that we can fall again soon but if that doesn't happen within the next six months then we will go to docs for some advice on where to go next. We have time on our side so to speak as I am 27 and DH is 31 so doctor hopes we will fall again soon as we did fall pregnant within the 'Normal'(her words not mine!)time period for couples of our age. Not really much help when you are really ready for it to happen though!!!

Thats crap about the clomid makiny you thirsty but hey all that water is supposed to help with the EWCM so at least thats something?!

Talk later

Lisa xoxo

*knock knock* can I come in?

I popped on last night and didn't see this thread. Thanks Lisa for starting it.

I am Kate, married for 4 years. I am 30, dh is 32. I have one ds who is 3. I fell pregnant with ds very easily, in fact we'd only bd'd once that month! We have been ttc a sibling for ds since Jan 07. Every month gets harder and harder, but it's a bit odd as as each month passes I feel I have lots of pma to try new things, or improve my health to help it happen.

I have been a part of the ttc forum since June and have seen many person come and go. I like the idea of the 6+ thread as I found my pma was taking a bit of a battering.

Anyway, enough about me.

Trad: Happy birthday for yesterday!!!! What is Lupus? I have heard of it, but not sure what it is.

Billy: So glad to see you back. Really sorry af got you, she knows no manners. How's the kitchen coming along?

Lisa: Is epo evening primrose oil? Does that help with ewcm? I tried taking Robitussin cough mixture and that really helped, obviously not enough to get pregnant Big Grin but had lots of ewcm.

Well, have a great day. Catch up later.

Kate

You are very welcome Kate, think this will be good thread for those of us on the TTC train for that bit longer!! As you say the PMA definately takes a bit of a battering!

EPO is indeed Oil of Evening Primrose and have only started on it since CD1 so will have to see if it works this month. My EWCM leaves a lot to be desired and think this could be the reason for me having difficulty as the one month i noticed quite a bit was the month I got pregnant. That month I had started having a bowl of Full fat Ice-cream for dessert every night in the run up to ovulation, not good for waist line mind you, as there was a study which stated that women who only consume low fat dairy products are more likely to have problems with ovulation and they actually suggested upping the intake of full fat ice-cream! I hardly eat any dairy products let alone low fat!

Do you think anyone else will be joining us on this thread?

Ooooh, I might have to try full fat ice cream, purely for ttc purposes!!!!

I have some epo here as I have psoriasis and it's really good for rubbing on it (sorry, bit yukky).

I think a few of the others will pop over here to join us, Lianne said she wanted to join. Possibly SJ and Mummymich?

Has anyone heard from Dats? I read on the ttc 12 Months+ thread that she was due to get test results at the end of March. It would be nice if she came back.

Hi Billy

That Robistussin cough mixture is good for ewcm, but it does make your wee smell of cough mixture Big Grin

The Hilton was a nightmare.Drove for approx 6 hours to Basingstoke on Tuesday, arrived there at 10.30pm. Chap on reception told us we'd been moved to the Hilton at Newbury. We drove there which took about half hour. Got into our room and they'd put us in a smoking double, we'd paid for a non-smoking triple room. Went to reception and told them, they said they were full, so couldn't help. The room was really smoky and I wouldn't stay in it. They said they'd give us a cot for ds...he's 3 and too big for a cot! Anyway, at 12.25am they agreed to put us up at the Newbury Manor Hotel and pay the bill. We drove there (only a 5 minute drive) we were all tired, ds was very upset so I took him out of his carseat to cuddle him, then the police stopped us Eeker Thankfully dh got out (so they didn't see ds on my knee) and showed his warrent card (phew!) he explained that we were looking for the hotel and they were fine. Anyway, got to the Newbury Manor Hotel at 1.20am got into our room and the beds weren't made so I had to make them. Finally got into bed at 2am Eeker ds was wide awake at 7.30am. Had to check out and re-check into the Hilton at Newbury. The shower was faulty, I stepped in and slipped and the shower scalded me. I sat on the bathroom floor crying like a baby Big Grin Drove home after legoland yesterday and was so glad to get home. The actual park was brilliant, ds had a great time.We went on the water rapids ride and me and dh were laughing like big kids! It was great fun and added a bit of fun to our usually stressful days.

omg, have any of you seen the Nov/Dec thread, Cathy's had some bad news Frowner

oh god poor cathy, this is just what she doesn;'t need. I hope she remains strong through this.

The lupus thing was apparently triggered 18 years ago when I had my daughter but I didn;t notice anything till about 10 years ago and it was mostly sun sensitivity so lots of sun block and stay out direct sunlight but now it seems i have the associated hughs syndrome which means my blood clots really fast and I have been taking baby aspririn everyday since the last miscarriage in Jan. Like I said on the ttc thread, its our last try as we have to put a time on it somewhere and I am coming to terms with that. If anything else should happen, I will be put on medication when it does, theres nothing to prevent it or know how bad it will get but for the moment, I am good.

so sorry about your hotel fiasco kate. its so horrible when that happens. They are supposed to providing a service not having you do all the work. If you wanted to make bloody beds, you would have stayed at home.

Billy I am so jealous of your kitchen, I would love a great big kitchen but our house is not that big, big enough but its a new built house so not much character, (apart from we've put in).

Lisa. Thanks for the info. I agree, thank god its friday, my kids are off for two weeks now so hopefully the weather will stay nice for them.

Thanks for birthday wishes girls. Eldest daughter bought me a facial !!!!, the dvd atonement and a big bunch of flowers. Anyone seen atonement? Is it a chickflick or will hubby be able to watch it and enjoy it too?

Can't beleive whats happened to Cathy, I hope she can get through this, I know she is a very strong person but this is just dreadful!!! Frowner

Tra, how fab about b'day present from dd! Big Grin Me and hubby both watcheD atonement and it was pretty good, dh enjoyed it too so don't think its too much of a chick flick. Enjoy! Big Grin

Kate, that sounds like the night from hell, can't beleive how crap the Hilton treated you, I would write a letter of complaint to them, you might get some sort of compensation and I think you deserve that. Glad legoland went well.

As for me, have had a bit of a crap morning, apparently three people in my company have announced today they are expecting and two were on first attempt!!! Frowner Can't beleive how easy this TTC thing is for some people and so horribly long for others... Still trying to keep PMA up but it can be so hard..

Hi Girls

Just a quicky, wrote a massive post and the site crashed aaaaggghhhhh Mad

I am going to test in the morn, i've had the most odd cycle. All my cycles are odd but this one was so short and I had a very odd af, hardly there. Now my boobs are swollen, my bra is too tight, I have af cramps and I am shattered, so figure i'll test. I am very realistic and know that most of this is in my head, so if it's a bfn I won't be upset, i'll just be able to move on mentally to this new cycle.

Lenny: So glad to see you. I wondered where you were. What's happened with your Dad matey? We're all here if you want to talk about it. x

Billy: What you up to this evening? Anything exciting planned?

Trad: I haven't seen Atonement, is that the one with Keira Knightly? If it is, it's got really good reviews. I'd love a facial, get yourself pampered Cool

Mich: Don't stay away too long! You will be missed. AND We need your quote of the day on here Big Grin

Heidi: How are you? Hope you are well. Yes, testing in the morning, thanks for remembering Smiler

Lisa: Def writing a complaint letter to the Hilton, not sure whether we'll get compo but I took a bath sheet so i'm happy Cool God, I am such a chav Big Grin

Right Girls, about to watch American Gangster, can't wait. It looks really good.

Night Night

Kate - *fingers crossed* for you testing in the morning Smiler

As you know my mum died last April due to complications arrising from Alzheimers, I was just handling the one year on anniversary of her death, and on Wednesday dads social worker told me that he had been diagnosed with Alzheimers too!
It had been a long battle with seeing my mum going downhill and now I have to watch and care for my dad with the same awful desease.
Sorry as I said before I don't want to bring the thread down, esp as its a new one!

Lenny {{{{{hugs}}}}}

Don't you dare apologise, that's what we're here for. I am so sorry to hear about your poor Dad. Why is life so cruel? I watched a tv programme a few years ago about a man with Alzheimers and it was so sad. My Mum and Dad's next door neighbour had it too, I'd known him since I was a little girl so it was very upsetting to see him change over the years. Despite his deterioration (sp?) he knew who his loved ones were and knew how loved he was. Your Dad will know how much you love him.

We're always here if you need to get anything off your chest, please remember that.
