I had a missed miscarriage in april. Frowner
I started bleeding at 5 1/2 weeks then every weeks or so right up to my 12 week scan when they said that the heartbeat had stopped at 8 weeks or so.
Now i put up with these bleeds cause i had no pain and they weren't very bad so didn't push for a scan.

Anyway after a few months of trying again i found out on monday that i was pregnant again.
But my exitement has been really short lived cause i felt a bit pinchy down there went to the loo and wiped pink and mucusy on the loo roll.
Not enough for a sanitary towel just enough that i could wipe it away.
Now after my track record i am obviously absolutely terrified it is going to go the same way as last time.

Now i know if you are going to miscarry there is absolutely nothing that can be done to stop it i am just hoping really that the bleeding isn't the absolute end.

Needless to say that i am now freeking out and would like to hear from anyone that has gone through anything similar or has any idea why i get this?

Thanks for the reply JenniPenni.
Did you just bleed the once or a few times?
How long before you could have a scan?
There is no point going to the doctors is there unless it gets worse ther is nothing they can do.
And it has gone now hopefully for good!

Hello

My sil bleed slightly at beginning of her pregnancy and her baby was fine. It was a really worrying time for her tho. How many weeks preg are you?

I had a scan at 6 weeks why dont you try and get one i think you have to be atleast 6 weeks tho to see a heart beat.

Hope everythings ok

Hi Amy,

Congrats on your pregnancy (and your driving test)!

I had this type of pink discharge with ds and he is now 16 months old. It sounds like implantation spotting. I understand it is only copious amounts of red blood that one needs to be afraid of (and even then I am a survivor of a pregnancy that featured this myself).

I wish you all the best with this pregnancy. You deserve this so much Smiler.

Take care,

Wubbaxxxxx Wink

Amy - Spotting and bloody mucus in early pregnancy is apparently very common and usually very normal - don't forget your body has been used to giving you the witch every month and sometimes it gets confused about what its supposed to be doing in early pregnancy. Obviously you are going to be worried about this as you have lost one before so I think you need to speak to your GP or midwife and insist they talk you through your personal situation and explain the odds to you.

From personal experience I have as you know lost 2 pregnancies and also bled at around 6-8 weeks with DS. I can confirm that the bleed when pregnant with DS was very different to the m/c bleeds. Large amounts of very red blood are definately a cause for concern, as is any bleed accompanied by sharp pains on one side as this can be a sign of an ectopic pregnancy. Having said that, when i was bleeding with DS I had pain on my left side too so my GP sent me off in an ambulance to get scanned as he was fairly convinced it was ectopic. CLearly it wasn't as DS is now 4 and at school!! If you are very worried take some time off work (if you can afford to) for a few days and just lie on the sofa and take it easy and see what happens next. Being stressed is not good for pregnancy so try not to panic (yeah right!) and stay calm. It is very common to have a bit of spotting and the fact it was not even enough for a panty liner is very reassuring xx

Keep us posted hun - and good luck xxxxx

Hi and thanks to you all for the replies.
I have had absolutly nothing since thursday when i had the pink stuff. Smiler
Am totally paranoid though that i am bleeding but when i get to the toilet i am fine. Roll Eyes
I think that last time was so horrible i bled about every week or so until 12 weeks and i know i was stupid not to demand a scan but i didn't! Red Face
I certainly won't be making that mistake this time but also i don't want to over react with every twinge.
I've had no pain or cramping but just a few twinges every now and again but not bad ones.
I think i am just scared because i had no pains last time.
I know if something is wrong my body just won't let go of the pregnancy but the doctor said that that is a good thing for future pregnancies.
To be honest i'm terrified of losing another or finding blood but can you blame me?
I'm booking an appointmant to see the doctor weds or thurs and i'll have a chat with them then.
But any bleeding and i'll be inisisting on a scan.
I would just like to fast forward a couple of weeks as it's the uncertainty of not knowing and not wanting to enjoy it for fear of it being taken away.
It's different from last time we were in cloud 9 and told people, talked about the future with a baby in it but i suppose it a bit tainted now and i'm expecting the worse more than good to come out of it. Frowner
Also they said that it is very common to miscarry for no reason but if this one goes the same as the last there might be something wrong with me.
Listen to me i all doom and gloom i should be over the moon but there is that feeling that there is no way it could go right!
I've just got to hope that the next couple of weeks go well with no problems.
At least if i was a bit further a scan would be an option.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

Amy

I just wanted to pop on to wish you the best and give you a little bit of hope x

I've had 2 missed miscarriages one in Jan o7 at 12 weeks and one at 9 weeks in July 07 and am now nearly 13 weeks with my 3rd pregnancy.

I completely understand how scarey it is but the fact you have only had a bit of spotting and no pain is really hopeful. When you go to the dr you should see if you can be referred for an early scan to try and put your mind at ease.

My dr said the same to me about our body holding onto the pregnancy because this rules out some of the causes of miscarriage so that is also a good thing.

You are right one miscarriage is usually chance, and 2 slightly increases the chances that there may be something wrong but as I was told even after 2 miscarriages this is still often based on chance and you still have a 75% chance of a healthy pregnancy after this which I hopefully can prove is right.

It is so difficult to relax in a pregnancy after miscarriage but you must hold onto the hope you have that this little one will stick and not beat yourself up for feeling scared either because this is also completely normal

I'll be thinking of you and throwing you bucket loads of sticky baby glue x I so hope this is it for you and you will be joining a due in thread before you know it, all the challenges we face make those little ones that do stick even more precious x

love Ellie

Don't know where to start really. Frowner
Started getting cramps yesterday morning at work until suddenly had to go to the loo cause i felt like i was going to bleed.
Went to the loo and blood gushed out of me, no clots just pure blood. Eeker
I told my manager who sent me home and dh picked me up soon after.
Rang the doctor who booked me in for today and i've just got back.
The bleeding has completely stopped now and i'm pretty sure that i haven't lost the baby.(yet)
I just don't know what to think.
I know what a miscarriage feels like and the stuff you get lumpy and clotty and i haven't had that so far.
The doctor said that the brown stuff that i'm getting now is old so there is just no way to know if the worst has happened.
I have done a urine sample because she wants to do another pregnancy test and then she said if that is still positive then they will scan me.
I'm not 100% sure but i have a feeling that the test will still say pregnant.
I know my body and last time would not let go of the pregnancy even when the heartbeat has gone.
It sounds silly but i know if i am going to miscarry it's not going to be that easy.
And by that i mean i don't think i would have miscarried in 1 day with 1 gush of blood and not even clots!
Now i'm not stupid i know it doesn't look good but i just want this sorted and to know what is happening with my own body.
So i have my own pregnancy test whick i will do before i see the doctor on thurs.
If it is negative she said she will examine me but if it is positive it looks like i will be straight in for a scan to see what is going on in there.
Wish me luck because i think i am going to need it for this one!
