Hi

Just to let you know a good friend of mine has posted a lot of useful info on using cloth (real) nappies on www.mumscorner.co.uk

Also, shes mentioned mooncup to me - an alternative to tampons. Have any of you tried mooncup before now? I was thinking of using it myself.

Mummy to Lauren 6 months.

I use reuable nappies on my 2 year old daughter Chloe and my 16 day old son Kieran. I love them they are so easy to use aswell. I wash them and they dry on the clothes airer in the bathroom over night. I sell some on my ebay site and also can tell you info on them as I am a nappy agent aswell.

My site is www.musswells.co.uk I have run it down a bit lately with being pregnant, but now baby is here I am hoping to list some more.

Best wishes
Lorraine. xx

P.S. Hi Debs hope that you are keeping well. x

Lorraine - I wonder if you would be kind enough to tell me the benefits of having real nappies instead of disposables.

I thought I would use disposables but have been told it is alot more cost effective and nicer for baby to use reusables.

Hi Jen

The benifits are, less waste, kinder to baby's skin, cheaper in the long run and easy to use and of course better for the environment as don't go into landfil sites.

I find them easy to use, easy to wash and both Kieran and Chloe seem happy in them.

And when they grow out of them they sell well on ebay second hand.

Love Lorraine. xx

I checked my council out a few months ago. They don't offer any subsidy whatever. Shame because if I lived 5 miles away into the next council area they do support real nappy schemes.

Lorraine - My Sister checked it out for me and the scheme ended for babies born 31st March[Frowner]

Just my luck.

Rachel - That is such shame.

They say they want less waste etc and bring in these new recycling rules but when it comes to one of the worst ones (disposable nappies) they don't seem to care!

Oh ho hum!

My council are later in the year only emptying the bins every other week!!!! So we are going to recycle as much as we can and reduce our waste. We already do lots and yet the bin still gets full in a week! So will have to do more if we can. I have just ordered more nappies for Kieran as I am using lots washing, drying, washing, drying and changing lol. They dry quick but he poos lots so need more than what I first bought. tee hee. just ordered some more Fuzzi Bunz and inserts all in different blues for him. I tell you they look so cute on him bless him. Chloe loves the pink ones that she has and the red ones. I also have white ones for Kieran lol.

Anyone need the link for where I buy my nappies????
Well its:

www.babykind.co.uk

and they are brill, can help with all info and they are great to deal with. xx

Lorraine - Our Council have a blue bin for recycling paper and plastic and all food and nappy waste goes in a black bin and garden waste goes in a green bin, it gets picked up every other week which isn't enough really.

The nappies sound brilliant, I like the sound of pink ones[Big Grin]

I think I will definately buy a couple to start off with and see how I get on and if I prefer to disposable I will buy some more I think.

I know that you need nappy liners for them that you can just flush but is there anything else I have forgotten?

Jen if you get fuzzi Bunz nappies then you don't need anything else. They don't need a liner but I use a liner as they make removing poo easier lol. Also these nappies are called Pocket Nappies and they need an insert. Its all easy I can show you at some point if you like?
