Hope Angel's okay after her blood loss and Pobs, I hope you get over what sounds like a horrible pulling around - you sound very bruised and battered. I can't see the pictures of Scarlett on this PC but will log on to our desktop machine tomorrow. Well done us! This thread is off with a bang!! Also, Amy and Jess, glad it's not jut me with those shooting/pulling pains. This thread is great to put your mind at rest! Hi to everyone else. Am so tired that I must log off and go to bed now. Well done Pobs and Angel again xx

Hi all, Still can't believe we have TWO babies on this thread! Just a quickie from me for some advice really - and lots and lots of pain free labour vibes please.... Midwife came to the house today (on a Sunday!) for a longer appointment, to talk about birth plans etc. Anyway, she did her usual feel of my stomach and baby's 1/5 engaged (yay!) BUT back-to-back (BOO!!). As far as I've been told, back-to-back labours are longer and more painful So do any of my lovely thread buddies or you lovely stalkers have any tips to turn the baby? Or is it too late now he/she's started to engage? If so, what can I do to make labour less painful (go straight for the epidural?!) Thanks in advance xxx

Hi ladies, I'm up late! been to a&e with Ben tonight long story will explain tomorrow as have to go back to a cliic appt with him. In answer to Sezzy try to sleep on your left side as much as poss, keep good posture so no slouching on sofa as its convenient for baby to curl up against your spine so try to sit on edge of seat or propped up with lots of pillows. The best tip is to sit on a gym ball as much as poss. Good luck I had the same with Ben, got him to move then he moved back! but to be honest my labour for a first labour wasn't too long, 9 1/2 hrs, and I don't remember having the back pain everyone goes on about. Right better go to bed as Ben's appt is 9.15am and I have to get there in bloody rush hour traffic.

just a message for sezzy....what kate said is right, plus you could try kneeling on all fours to give baby room to move. I had back to back labour, but i didnt know that untill after he was born. I was in labour for 7-8 hours I think, and pushing for 30-40 mins, so it wasnt that long really, especially for my first pregnancy. I did find that pethadine put ds to sleep and slowed things down, which I didnt think was worth it. I didnt get back pain either, i just found it very very hard to push out what I thought was a 10 pounder, but he was only 7 pound 4!! I got the epidural, but because of a tatoo in my back, they couldnt get it in the right spot, so it only worked down one side for me. Some people with back to back labours give birth squatting, or on all fours, which you couldnt do with epidural. its hard to decide wheter or not to get the epidural, but you will know on the day. If you find the early labour too painful, go for it.... i hope you turn bubs around though xxxxxxxx sending you "baby turning vibes" lol!!!

hey i'm a stalker! lol Just wanted to reply to sezzy as i had a back to back birth with my 2nd child. I was told to go on all fours and rock, birth ball and lay on my left side, so i'm not really telling you anything different! lol Saying that everyone's births are different with back to back babies and some turn on the way out or last minute, so please don't stress yourself out about it with worry, it'll all be worth it when you're holding your baby With my son i was actually in labour (3cm dilated) for 4 days until i hit 4cms and then i was allowed in hospital as they then classed me as in active labour! Anyway i started the wed and he was born on the sun, but what i'm trying to say is i wasn't in active servere pain labour until the sat so all in all it was a relativly normal birth, it was just frustrating that nothing was happening or going any where sooner iykwim?? You ladies are all doing fab! happy pain free vibes coming your way! *********************** Kate, i can't beleive how close you are now! you will post some pics on our msn site won't you?!

morning all, Pobs here, reporting from nappiesvile...... How are we all today?????? we are a little blacker around the eyes but doing ok lol. It seems sooo strange to come on and post but not be pregnant anymore. Baby Scarlett has just has a big feed so is having little sleep. Nights haven't been bad, she slept from 12am to 4am, fed for an hour then from 5ish to 7.30. I'm loving breastfeeding, was so worried about it all having failed before but its going really well. much better now my milk has come in. We are just waiting for mw to visit, i'm hoping she will weigh her. I still can't believe this precious little bundle is ours to keep. Sezzy...I have also heard spending time each day on all fours is supposed to help with back to back. Scarlett was back to back, I know that the mw said to me that you generally feel more of the labour in your back rather than contractions round the front but she never said it would take longer or be more painful, guess it depends. Try the ball etc..baby still has time to mover around like everyone said. How are you enjoying your free time??????? Babyno5.......baby yet???????? i'm guessing yay!!!! you have been quiet. Amy.......another lady of leasure, what have you been up too???????? I bet you can't wait now. ohhhh that feeling when you see him for the first time amy.......so excited its almost here for you, who would have thought it hay...certainly not us way back in november xxxx Angel......can't wait to see pictures. my friend had her baby saturday...c section in the end, baby girl weighing 10lb 12 hope mason is doing well kate,,,,oh dear i hope ben isn't hurt to badly????? poor little mite, he has been through it lately, hope you are managing to rest. sorry have to cut it short there as Scarlett is stiring and df is out with the dog. going to attempt our first tesco's outing later hugs and waves to all...and thank you to everyone for there well wishes. love Pobs and Scarlett xxxxxx
