Well, sorry to dissappoint.. but still here and still pregnant.. can you believe it.. Frowner

Went into the labour ward to be induced on the saturday morning and after waiting for the consultant and reg to get back to me they brought the news of 'NO...we wont induce you purely because of babies size' but left me with the horrific nightmare of 'when you come in and are in labour you will have a senior MW present and a team on stand-by outside.. as you are now VERY HIGH RISK of a shoulder Dystocia,'
Which for those of you who dont know what it is, means the shoulders get stuck due to babies size and can mean breaking lil ones shoulder / collar bone to get him out.. so now i am worried sick about this birth that i had serious worries about due to the retained placenta issue, when will it end?
The reason i haven't been on sooner and i really do apoligise.. is because the 1st few days were down to daily monitoring and going back and forth to hospital was knackering. Then Jordan was off school sick, Holly was then sick with the same thing,, and Abbie has only just gone bk to school today.. Now me and Dh have it, (very painful stomach cramps, and the runs) but i just had to come on here and let you all know that the thread is still 'intact!!' (I presume!)

I have breifly gone over the last few pages, will have a proper read when i am feeling more up to it..

Either way there will at least be a baby on the thread by wednesday.. eh, pobs!! woo hoo!
So i can now be removed from the chart as awaiting news!! God i feel like such a fraud..(and a tw*t) Sorry girls,

hope everyone is well and getting geared up for the official starting of OUR thread in 4 days time!!
lets get these annoying BH's turned into the real thing!

lots of love all & labour vibes to all who need them!

Oh Angel, I'm so disappointed for you, and so sorry you have the worry of the shoulder thing on top of it all ((((( ))))). Hopefully its a precaution and all will go smoothly. I seriously cannot believe you are still pg though! Also sorry you've all been ill, not what you need at all. I had a tummy bug like that a few months back and know how painful those cramps are Frowner

Oh Angel i am so sorry you must have geared yourself up ready then have been let down.
It is going to be so hard not to worry about the birth but you are going to have to try and relax and take it a bit easy.
You sound like you have been doing way too much to me.

If i don't get time to come on tomorrow night i'll be back by the weekend when i am officially on mat leave! WooHoo.

Hi Angel. I am from the June thread and wanted to let you know that i suffered shoulder dystocia with my baby girl who is now 5 days old. The main difference being we had no idea it was coming so we had a frantic panic on trying to get her out....we never had help at hand. She basically got stuck at the shoulders and thankfully another midwife came in to help. I am happy to discuss this with you and answer any questions you might have. All you need to know now is that my baby is fine and has no long lasting effects of it. I wish I could have known beforehand what may have happened so that I could have prepared myself and that i knew people would be there to help.

I am sure you will be absolutely fine and it may not even happen to you (it is fairly rare I think). How big is your baby?

I hope all you other girls are doing ok..I am looking forward to hearing about these babies :-)

Thanks for the hugs everyone..
Its lovely to be back, and have you all there for support.

Lea.. thanks for coming over especially to tell me about your experience, I am very grateful,
I had a scan last friday @ 38 weeks and they said he was 8lb 14oz, and abdominal circumferance was 390mm..(they told me if i go to term he will be 10lb) way, way above the 97th centile, which i believe when going off abdominal circ is how they decide if its a shoulder issue, they couldn't check his head circumference as he was so low down, but the way they told me was very matter of fact and just get on with it, they said they will be able to 'vaginally manouvere him' which sounds pretty invasive to me, but it only worries me more as a close friend had shoulder dystocia with her 3rd and they broke his collar bone, and he couldn't move his arm for ages after.
I dont feel huge, well, no bigger than i was with the last 2 pg's but people keep telling me i am huge, I am trying not to think about it as i genuinley love the experience of giving birth and it just feels like its turning into a nightmare.. sorry to go on about it, but i dont know how to deal with the worry of it all.
I will just be so glad when the worry is over.

Evening all from a very full Pobs,

Been out for dinner (had a hot curry Wink) for DD birthday might try the bath and the other thing before the nights out LOL only kidding, like I could be bothered for that !!!!!

Angel...you poor thing, not knowing whether you are coming and going with the hospital. I guess the only consolation is you haven't got to long to go til you meet your little man. The reason I had a c section with DD was because she got stuck via her shoulder, like Lea they didn't know until I was in labour, perhaps if they had known things would have been different so hopefully it won't be too much of a problem for you Angel, they will be ready for any eventuality......and they could always have the weight wrong, wouldn't be the first time. Hope you are feeling better soon xxx

Sezzy...hope you got all your reports sorted today and managed to rest a little working from home......don't know how you do it what with work and your course. I passed mine too, found out yesterday....YAY!!!!!! I just scraped through though xxx

Kate.... Poor Ben with his sore eye, glad he is on the mend. I bet you're so glad that the house is returning to normal now, sounds lovely. To answer your question if I go into labour before wednesday I will be admitted straight away and taken to theatre for c section.....unless i'm almost there then they will let me carry on and just be standing by incase there is any problems. They said the other day when I was on the labour ward that if my waters go before I start labouring then they will go ahead with c section as soon as. Either way I have to go straight to hospital the first signs of anything to be monitored, no staying at home for a while for me.

Amy......How great is your dh..wish my DF would start nesting LOL ohhhh how nice it would be to have my bathroom finished, the goal was by the time little miss ? was here...now I think we are aiming for her first christmas LOL. Not long now hunny........nearly daytime nap and tv time for you xxxxx

Hi Billy...still look out for you on the boards and hope you are doing well. Hope your upcoming trip to HK goes well xxxx

Kirsten...any news????? verdict on the mucus????xxx

Jess.....Hows the BH...the joys of late pregnancy hay???? you will find you begin to get them more frequently, baby time is almost here my friend LOL xx

Waves to lea if you are stalking..hows that beautiful baby of your???? left a comment on one of your pic's...she is soooo pretty xxx

right hope you don't mind girls but going to do tomorrows chart now as I won't get chance in the morning. My cousin is coming with her new born for the day. Its late now so I doubt anyone will be posting now....

night girls. xxxxx

Morning Angel. My baby girl was 8lbs 13ozs at birth so I guess it is not just overly big babies that get stuck. Like Pobs said, at least they are prepared so you are in safe hands. I am sorry you have to worry about this now but it will soon be over. I will be thinking of you x

Pobs, of course I am stalking...I am waiting to hear your good news Big Grin Not long now...

Cora is doing really well, thanks for asking. We had a difficult first few days as her shoulder was a little sore and she seemed quite unsettled. Not to mention the fact she was starving and my milk was late coming in! My milk came in properly yesterday so she was much happier. Previously she fed for 6 out of 8 hours at night! It was crazy. Last night she fed at 11pm and then 4pm and 6pm so much better. DS loves her to bits but he is playing us up rotten! I guess he has a big adjustment to make too. It is tough right now but I am sure it will get easier :/

Hi to all the other July mummies. Amy, how are you doing hun?

hi guys just being nosey at the due in threads lol!!

angel i just wanted to say i had a growth scan about 2 days before riley was born to check his size cuz i was measuring a lot bigger and had pre-eclampsyia and they estimated him as 8lb 8oz and with an abdominal circumfrence of 370mmlater he was born and he was a dinky 6lb 15 ozs. i also had the same with my dd i hadd a scan at 39 weeks for the same issues and the estimated her as 8lb 2ozs and she came out 6lb 10oz.

my point i am actually getting at lol is i knwo its easyier said than done by try not to worry when riley was born i said how can these scans get it so wrong and she said that the estimated fetal weights they give you are not that accurate.

im wishing you loads of luck and will be stalking this thread ready for more babies Smiler Smiler

YESSS!!!! That's my last 5-day week for a WHOLE YEAR finished and done! Big Grin Two of my three reports are now written... the third one needs to be done by Tuesday... big meeting on Wednesday.... then last day on Thursday! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

WOOHOOOO!!!! Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Kirsten, keep your chin up hun, we've all waited so long, this last couple of weeks is a drop in the ocean and you'll have your little girl with you soon. You'll then have her for the rest of your life, so what's another couple of weeks in the scheme of it ay?! Smiler

Pobs, how are you feeling? 5 more sleeps till you see your little girl??? Maaan, bet there's a few of us on this thread (me included) that would dearly love to swap with you now! Big Grin how was your cousin's new born? How old is he/she? did it make you all gooey and hormonal?! Wink And well done you on passing your course - YAY! What brainboxes we are ay? Don't worry about scraping, a pass is a pass isn't it, and let's face it, we've all had quite a bit of other stuff on our minds! Speaking of which, have you sorted that credit nightmare? HOw awful, it must be scary to find out that someone hs stolen your identity like that. Frowner Hope you sort it out without too much fuss, you could do without that right now.

Angel, hope everyone else's stories have reassured you a bit, I feel so useless being a first timer and not being able to give you reassurance, only (((((hugs))))) by the bucket load. Frowner YOU WILL BE FINE - that baby of your's is so contrary that if the doctors tell him he's going to get stuck, you can guarantee the little mite will NOT get stuck LOL! Roll Eyes ANd you know what, all this scary stuff beforehand and I bet it all goes smoothly and you get the lovely birth experience you love. No matter how he comes out, you're going to love it anyway. ((((((MORE HUGS)))))))

Amy - yay to you hun, I know you are still working now and won't finish till 7pm but after taht ONE MORE DAY!!! and then NO MORE WORK!!!!!! Big Grin Looking forward to your daily funny posts! LOL at the John Wayne walk, so I've got tht to look forward to soon have i? Roll Eyes Great news that you're 3/5ths engaged too, bet you won't be long! And personally I'm all for denial, after all we women have been popping these babies out for thousands of years, Eeker so over analysing everything can't do any good can it? Your body knows what to do so sod your brain being in denial, it's probably a good thing!

Kate - happy anniversary for yesterday hun. what a busy 4 years you've had with Ben and now nearly having your little girl with you too, bet you and DH had plenty to talk about over dinner. What did you cook? it's our anniversary on 8 July, our 3rd, bet we don't do much this year LOL! WOOOHOOO to your conversion being finished - it sounds lovely! Big Grin I want a sun room at the back of our house but no money at the moment boo. I'll just come round to yours instead then, shall I LOL?!! Wink

Hi to all the other thread buddies and to our honorary stalkers LOL! Still no news from any of us it looks like! Roll Eyes

Am off to Parentcraft classes all day tomorrow then another 5:30am start for a car boot sale Sunday (groooaaan) so if you don't hear from me before Sunday, hope you all have a good weekend xx Big Grin Big Grin Big Grin

Hi everyone,

Thanks Lea and Rachel-jade for popping on,
I know they tell you that the scan can be 20% either way but when they tell the the bad stuff i dont suppose anyone is thinking about the smaller side of things.. Confused
Well all i can do is stay positive and hope he is about the same size as my last 2! (8lb 2oz!!)
Whats the point in worrying?
What will be will be!

Kirsten.. I know its not a nice thing to discuss but from about 6 months pg with holly i had a green tinged thick discharge.. and swabs never showed it to be anything, also ive had it most of this pg and i'm clear.. so i think sometimes its just one of those things.. I know its hard to say really if its the same as describing a colour isn't that easy lol!! But i'm sure you will be fine and hopefully if lil one is hanging on you will have it cleared before she arrives if it is an infection??
As for going over due its just one of those things that 1st babies like to do.. Frowner I amazingly went overdue by a week much to everyones suprise as i was really skinny and looked ready to pop at 7 months!!
But when i find myself wishing the pg away and wanting bubs here i just think to myself well, he will be here soon enough, and then we have forever together!!(easier to say than do tho eh?)
But i still get down about the waiting it is sooo hard when you are sooo excited and know whats on its way! (((((((((hugs)))))))))

Pobs... Dear me, i cringed when you said curry!! Ive had currys everyday for the 1st part of the week, 5 fresh pineapples, and my poor insides (and bottom -sorry TMI) cant take no more... I will wait for my stomach to settle then if he is still showing no signs of arriving i will be back on the old currys! got a jar of green thai curry sauce in the cupboard which looks more appetizing than tikka masala which i find waaay toooo hot!
Not long now! My original due date was the 2nd so i am secretly hoping things will be moving by then! You never know, our lil ones may share a birthday along with Kirstens baby aswell!
Ooooohhh, I'm excited for us all now!

Amy.. Only tomorrow and you are free!!! Woo hoo! I have to admitt that when i finished college/work when i was pg i felt really lonely but then i lived in a town where i knew nobody at all and felt very alienated, i didn't start to make my friends around here until i had Abbie.
you get into a different 'loop' once you have kids! So dont worry about it with your workmates i'm sure you'll be fine! they will still be there for you!

Kate..Hope you and ben are ok, eye infections are no fun are they, bet you are well made up the conversion is finally finished now eh! Hope you had a nice anniversary, woo 4 years eh? I'm coming up for my 10th in December!! Eeker Eeker crazy how fast it goes isn't it! people dont believe me when i tell them ive been married 10 years nearly and on my 4th baby!! its still funny to see the look on their faces lol!!

sezzy.. I am so far behind with posting now ive no idea whats going onwith you at the mo... looks like you been having major stress with work, any chance they could let you go home a bit earlier or is it all formalities? not long tho now anyway for you.. try and take it easy.

Babyno5.. OMG, looks like another biggie baby on here, how on earth can they predict a fast delivery? maybe its because your cervix is weak anyway its gonna just ping open eh?

Jess.. any more pains? Any signs of a Baby yet? I think its common at around this time some babies think its time to come then change their minds lol!

well i wonder if ualreadykno is still 'with child' or not??
meadow..kirsty.. paula? how are all of you?

right think ive blabbed enough, not gonna even go down the road of, 'ive had lots of 'good' pains last night & today that seen to be helping things along.. i am going to forget about it all and enjoy my last week of being pg, coz its never going to happen again!! (boo-hoo!)

TTFN,
Emma. x
