Hiya all - wow, its been really quiet on here lately. Sorry i didnt make it on last night, internet broke! But looks like no1 else was on either soo!

Well, went for my scan yesterday, everything looks fine with the baby! Wahooo! I opted to be told about soft markers and there wasnt anything to be seen.

And, well, Amy, looks like your first prediction might be right, its a girl!!!
But they couldnt tell us 100% because she had her thighs quite close together, but we couldnt see any bits, but wont be buying any pink dresses yet! I cant help it though, ive already started to bond with Grace - thats going to be her name!
We will find out for sure though at the 3d scan.

My photos are totally rubbish though! Cant even make them out, my 12 week scan was better, Grace is a really lazy baby, she wouldnt move much and was just curled up most of the time, maybe thats why i havent felt her move yet. And with her being in an awkward position and they said there was some tissue in the way - thats why the scan wouldnt as good (i hope the tissue isnt anything to worry about, does anyone know??) but i dont need to go back for another as they have seen everything they want to see and it all looked fine. Pheww...

Also, got my triple test results back - low risk for spina bifida and on the scan they checked the spine throughly (as my mum had spina bifida baby) and everything looked fine, and my downs syndrome ratio was really low at 1:3500, im so glad i had them done now - ive been worrying so much.

I cant wait to see Grace again now on the 3D scan - to make sure she is a she hehe

Looks like my sickness has returned with a vengence unfortunatley, was sick Mon morn, Tues Morn and this morn, think its cos i havent slept well at all for the past few nights so im really tired.

how is everyone else?

Lots of love xx

Hi girls
Just poping on to check out if Kirsten is a pink or blue bump! Big Grin
Just about to phone hospital to arrange 20 week scan for some reason i have to phone and confirm.
So i'll be on later to report when it is. Big Grin

Kirsten- Woo Woo looks like my first prediction was right. Smiler
Did they give you a % chance if it is a girl.
My hospital tells you the % chance of them being right.
At least you know that she is a lady by keeping her legs together! Roll Eyes

Meadow- I haven't had the joy of leaky boobs but my friend did quite a lot.
Good idea on changing your doc it is very important to be comfortable with them and too trust them. Smiler

Sezzy- LOL at the tuberware!
You are supposed to take a urine sample to every midwife visit i think that they check for infections.
But it might not be the same for you.
Give her a ring and ask or just do it there.
One of my friends used to have a sample jug when she was preg so she could tip it into the sample pot.
They are not very woman friendly are they! Eeker
My bump always looks much smaller in the morning and massive in the evening.
Either way it is still pretty tiny but it's big to me! Big Grin
I went out for a meal with dh's family last night and they have family over from Ireland.
When i told one of them i was mearly 17 weeks she said 'where you hiding it in your pocket!'
It was so funny in an irish old lady accent too. Big Grin

Kate- You'll be fine. Where i am you only hear your results if there is something to worry about.
Wouldn't they have said already if something was wrong.

Angel- Sorry you are feeling shitty.
But Lost is brill but i agree the questions need answering now i hope this season is the last.
Also are you a Jack or Sawyer lady?
Personally Sawyer does it for me every time especially when he speaks! Or not who cares.
Love my predictions under due dates.
It would be so funny if i was right!

Anyway off to do some washing up and see the dh off to work.
Back in a bit too tell you my scan date.
Amy.xxxxxxx

Kirsten, congratulations on having a pink bump! and good news on the triple test results.

Amy, I think we get a letter here if its low risk, and a phone call if not. I haven't actually had the test yet which is why I was asking how long the results take. I'm having it next Monday so will ask then. I'm not very good at no news is good news, arrggghhhhh!!!

Amy - glad you got your 20 week scan sorted!! How exciting! Will you be finding out? Hope so as I am dying to know what you are having! You've probably told people a thousend times whether you are or you aren't - but I'm afraid i don't remember anything these days! I had a call yesterday from the water board cos I forgot to pay my last installment of my bill - I was so embarrassed!! But when I explained I was pregnant she laughed and told me not to worry about it as she'd add to next years bill which I don;t have to start paying til May - how cool?!! Cool We'll be doing Direct Debit this time as I don't think it'll be immediate getting my brain back to order after the birth either to be honest!!
Glad all is going well for you hun - so pleased xx

Hi i'm back again. Big Grin
Just spent the day with my mum and sister shopping and doing lunch it was lush.
I tried on a pair of maternity trousers and they were so comfy i bought them. (really my mum did she wanted to treat me) Smiler
I also bought a maternity top for my valentines meal as i usually wear quite fitted tops and they all look silly with my ginormous boobs so i have opted for comfy yet trendy.
As i am determined not to let myself go just cause i'm pregnant,so i am very pleased with my purchases. Big Grin
I can still get into my normal trousers but when i sit down i have to lift them up over my bump.
I am so surprised at how normal they look i always picture maternity stuff as being abit tenty but i feel so comfortable in them.
I actually am looking forward to working tomorrow just so that i can wear them! Roll Eyes

Ever- I think we probably will find out the sex as i am convinced i am having a boy and want it confirmed. Smiler

Kirsten- So pleased that you felt movement i am so jealous i can't wait.
My mum keeps feeling my tummy saying she can feel something but i keopp telling her that it is just windy pops! Eeker

I bought dh a valentines pressie aswell. A bottle of JD not very romantic but i know he will love it.
I am being taken out for an italian tomorrow.
We go there on special occasions as it where he asked me to marry him and i love pasta so i couldn't ask for more. Big Grin
Hope everyone has a good valentines and you get thoroughly spoiled!
Lots of love. Amy. xxxxxxx

I'm here too Kirstin and Angel! Just wanted to pop on and let you know about my m/w appt - it was so cool, I heard Beanie's heartbeat thumping away!! and all my blood, urine, blood pressure etc were fine. I stuck to my decision not to have the screening blood test today so I guess I'll just have to see what happens!

Angel, my 20 week scan is on 13 March and I am not finding out the séx. I like surprises! Glad you are feeling better, don't worry about the cloud today, there's BIG FAT SUNNY DAYS predicted for Saturday AND Sunday! and as there is no Six Nations rugby to glue me to the telly, I might actually get out there and enjoy it! Gonna take my friend's dog for a walk on the beach Sat and my parent's dog for a walk Sun - exercise, vitamin D, what more do I want?!

Anway, I am a HUGE fan of Sawyer in the Davidoff ad too - phwoar! I loved Lost till the middle of the second series, then missed a few episodes and fell behind and have never caught up. Planning to watch it all when I go off on maternity, well until Beanie puts in an appearance anyway!

And did you ever sort out your jeans dilemma? I bought a lovely pair in Next on Wednesday and I noticed they had long sizes - and you can order them online too.

Speaking of shopping, Amy, you sound like you did well getting your trousers and top, can you send your mother over to Cardiff now to buy me some stuff?!!! Can't believe you are actually looking forward to work to wear your trousers though, that's just sad!! Wink Hope you have a fab Valentine's meal tonight, sounds really romantic and special in that Italian, I'm sure it'll be lovely. DH and I are just cooking a nice meal together. It's our 'getting together' anniversary on 7 Feb (10 years it was this year!) and he spoils me then, then his bday is 19 Feb when I treat him, so we keep it quiet on Valentine's.

Amy, Angel and all the other ladies who gave me advice on the mw appt and bump sizes - thank you all - I did read the messages but it was bedtime and sleep came over responding ha ha - sorry girls! Anyway, the jug was a top tip Amy...

Kirsten, even though I'm not finding out the séx, I must admit your posts have made me really tempted, it would be lovely to be bonding with my baby using his/her future name like you are with Grace. Soooo exciting that you felt her move too! Brill! I think I might have felt something the other night, I was in bed and it was a very different feeling to wind or my stomach gurgling, it felt like a sort of gentle prod and it was in the right place - I like to think it was Beanie anyway!

Hey everhopeful, LOL at your scattiness, me too, two of my friends told me I had got consistently ditsy since falling pregnant! We're all in this together!

Hope everyone else is well - come on soon!

Hi,

Well been to see consultant.. what a pathetic waste of time... The hospital hadn't sent my 1st volume of notes over so i had an empty 2nd volume with only my scan result in...? WTF?? Ok, coz i am sooo greedy i have 2 sets of notes.. but all my history ie, my problems and what the consultant needed to know about are in my 1st volume, sooo i have to go back again in 2 weeks, what a kerfuffle eh?!!
But he did briefly disscuss what will happen and i have to have the synto injection.. he said most retained placenta's are due to the injection not being given at the exact right moment when the shoulders are born..so basically he said we have to wait and see, great.. another 20 weeks of torture.. but if it is retained then i'll be taken straight to theatre and have it taken out like that.
Also have to do a urine test tomorrow and send it off as i still getting probs holging on and going a lot! Nice!
He felt baby's position and then put the doppler straight on the right place! he said 'see, beautiful!!' then took it off, so i got 3 seconds of listening to my baby! but i dont mind, i will get to see on weds! My due date is now 4th July! I thought it was anyway! My MW doesn't know how to calculate dates!!!

Sezzy.. I know next do long leg but i am extra long and i keep checking online (as our next is so crap they dont stock maternity) but still no joy.. boooo, so i am making do with the bits i have for now then when they come in stock i will order some!! I am really desperatee now tho, ive gone huge the last 2 days!! My secondry MW said today, 'Are you sure there is only 1 in there you are big for 20 weeks!!' I said 'well, i have been feeling kicks by my ribs and down by my bladder at same time!!' she said,'Aw Emma, Twins would be lovely for you!!' (she was taking the p*ss!!) funny..Not.

well i am off to sort my monsters out now..they are fighting already and havent seen each other properly for days,
Kids eh? who'd ave 'em??? ME!!!
