Oh sezzy love, I really, really do feel for you ((((((((((((((hugs)))))))))))))))))))))).. It DOES get better believe me, and soon, but the knowing when, nobody can say, every baby is different, but most of the time 5/6 weeks is a turning point (has been with all mine and most people i know) they sleep what is called a 'core' night, its a signal that they are ready to settle down and sleep more. so you have that to look forward to! I suppose i am pretty luck as mason sleeps from 9 or 10pm-4am, i hear him stir then get him on the bed, check if his nappy is wet or not, if its only a bit i leave him as he starts screaming if i change it, and it wakes him up.. i lie on top of duvet, grab my blanket and we are both back off to sleep in minutes..only mason is having his feed, it wont give them a sleep association this early on, but if you did it for months maybe it would.. none of my kids have ever slept in my bed just for the sake of it, not even when ill, and i have done sleep feed with all of them.. i know i keep saying this but its such an easy soloution to sleep deprivation which, after all, is a form of torture- and i am not lol'ing about that..!
so anyway, after that 4am feed i prob wake up 30 mins - hour later and put him back in his moses basket, (gonna start abreviating it to MB ok??!!) he then sleeps til about 5.45 when i feed him again and sometimes we go back to sleep til 7.30, or sometimes i just feed him then get up, if i get up he goes in his swing and sleeps til, oh, now!! he is stiring and its 7.22am! i find it amazing that they have these perfect little clocks inside of them!

Kate.. well done to imogen on passing her hearing test! bet you feel better now knowing she is ok, although you prob knew she was fine anyway! cant believ she is in those tiny baby clothes, i remember looking at them when i was buying the upto 10lb size in next and thinking how small they were! i thought the 10lb ones were small enough! i am packing all the 0-3 clothes up today as they are just taking up drawer space, then i will go shopping for 3-6 stuff, i cant believe it, he hasnt worn any of his 0-3 things, so gutted, glad most of them were off ebay!
I had a great time at work, but couldnt stop thinking about my baby at home, and talking about him all the time, thankfully my boss is my good friend and ive worked with her before, so she was fine when i went to express, although it was a bit unsettling as there were workmen on the other side of the door as she is having treatment rooms built... oh, i am a nail technician btw, dont know if i mentioned that before! but i do all sorts of other things to do with hair and beauty aswell! but mostly i just do manicure, pedicure and acrylic nail enhancements!! will soon be doing spray tan aswell, providing dh can hack it..
when i got home it looked as if he had been crying and when i asked him what was wrong he said his head was ****ed, and he cant do it.. he later said he doesn't envy my job and he sees what i mean now!! but i felt great, those few hours away have changed a lot of things going on in my head.. so we shall see how things pan out over the next few weeks!

well, the kids are starting to get up, looks like holly is sleeping in today lol!! i am off to get my nails done today so will start getting ready now, ive already dried a load of washing and another load has finished washing, so off to empty that out...
Aaaaahhhhh, *breathing deeply* i feel good today!!! (mason still sleeping, so i will have my bath quick.. oh well..maybe not, spoke too soon..)

Be back laters,
Emma & Mason. xx
ps, new pics on msn..they are good ones if you need a laugh,

Hi Ladies

Just another quick thought for you all (god, this reallllllly sounds like I'm stalking you all now - but I remember it all soooo clearly). If you're having difficulty putting the babies back into the moses baskets to sleep, have you tried putting something over the mattress that is warm and smells of you?? I used to put in an old pj top with Darcey that I had cuddled while I fed her - the idea being that they are all dosey after a feed, then hit the cold mattress of the moses basket and are suddently wide awake again. If you try lying them on top of something warm with a familiar smell, it might just help the transition. Not promising mind, but I reading your posts I suddenly remembered D snuggling up to my pink top.

Angel you sound really bright and breezy today which is great. Glad work was good and also glad your DH now realises what hard work it is being a mum.

Alicee ahh just saw your DS is called Benjamin David - snap! thanks for the tips, Imogen seems to go in her crib no probs now but I will defo bear that in mind.

Well another good night she went 11.45-1 then 1.30-4.30 and 5-7.30, I really can't ask for more of a 11 day old and if she keeps this up it will be fine when DH goes back to work. Just waiting for the HV, still a bit nervous about her weight, will let you know.

My mum, niece and nephew are staying for a few days so we are off to a rare breeds farm this afternoon, hope the rain holds out.

hi Ali!!
thanks for the tip! i did this with my last 2, my mw tells everyone to do it!!
This time with mason i keep him in the swaddle he is in, but open it out when he is next to me so he is just lying on it keeping it warm.. and it prob smells of milk and my bed lol!! also i try not to wash his bedding too often, to keep the smell, unless he has sicked or wee'd thru his nappy!

kate.. did the hv call? wonder what imogen weighs now!!! Smiler you sound like you have a house full at the mo..hope you had a nice day out and didn't get rained on!!

well, off to eat my chow mein now. mason slept all day, so i got to get my nails done in peace Big Grin apart from the girls messing about.. Roll Eyes

Back laters,

Hi ladies.
Well i am doing fab at the mo! Big Grin
Ciaran is feeding at 2 then about 5 then about 8ish and dh does the 2o'clock feed so i do the rest and get a good amount of sleep.
Little man still gets abit uncomfortable with the colic but once he has lets a couple rip he is fine. Roll Eyes
He smiled the other night! Big Grin
I have been trying to get him to do it all day then dh comes home and gives him a bath and he does it for him! Typical. Roll Eyes
So he did it for me last night and it was a beemer it brings tears to my eyes he has a lovely little face. Smiler

Angel- How you feeling today?
19 is quite a high score isn't it for that questionnaire i only scored 6 but it could be abit different.
Are they going to give you a bit more support?
I love catbook too at first the i got a bit bored once the novelty wore off. My cats have friends on there though.
They are so sociable!

Sezzy- You sound swamped hun.
I was dreading dh going back to work.
Ciaran is a fab baby but i was scared i wouldn't cope with it all but i think it is a good test.
I found it gave me loads of confidence being able to do it alone and not relying on someone else.
I think you should give yourself some credit you'll be a brill mum when he goes back to work!+

Kate- I have heard about being quite at night and not turning on the light too much so they know the difference.
I try and not wake him up too much so he goes back to sleep quickly after a feed and it seems to work.
I also find putting him in his crib slowly does the trick or he feels like he is being dropped in!

I have typed this with about 10 breaks to keep putting Ciaran's musical mobile on to keep him quiet.
He is wide awake in his crib so i better give him some attention before he gets sick of Brahms lullaby that it doesn't work when i put it on tonight!
Love Amy and Ciaran. Big Grin

Ps. I'm more than happy to hand over to the next thread and go over to parenting now.

Me- 28

Yeah lets do it and hand the baton over to the September/October ladies. Shall we start the thread with a stats page of our babies details?

Hi Amy, glad Ciaran's colic isn't bothering him too much. He's a good little sleeper isn't he.

Well just popping back to say Imogen is almost back to her birthweight, only 1oz lighter so I'm happy with that. Just given her a bath and olive oil massage, she loves it Big Grin. We had a great time at the farm today and the weather held out so thats good, Imogen was good as gold and slept the whole time. See you on the parenting thread I guess.

Hi all!

Sorry I have been really busy so I haven't been able to post or read a lot of them. How is everyone? I just took a peek at the baby pix and they are all so beautiful.

I have been ok I guess, I deff. have my ups and downs. In a way I think Luis may be colicky because sometimes he cries for no reason. My mom calls him fussy. Sometimes I am so overwhelmed I put him in the crib to cry or I will go nuts. On the other hand, he's been sleeping through the night, usually at least hours but sometimes 10 hours at night (last night) which is GREAT for me. At first I thought he was eating too much because at 4 (or was it 5?) weeks he was eating 7 oz every 2-3 hours, when babies that age are supposed to be 4 oz top on average. But he's really growing. He was 7 lb 10 oz when he was born, but last week he was weighing 10 lb 10 oz. He is pretty much done with his newborn clothes!

As for me and my bf, TBH we are having some problems. He can be really nasty at times because he doesnt understand I don't feel like BD and I'm always tired and falling asleep. *sigh* I don't know how much longer I can go on the way we are. He's always telling me he's going to go back up north and hes been drinking alot. IDK what to do.

Has anybody else felt hopeless at times? I don't really see the fun in anything anymore. I did that postpartnum test and scored an 8 with my nurse said is fine. But I feel like I have nothing to look forward too. I don't even enjoy taking walks with the baby anymore. I just basically try to see the point in things and stay sane when he cries for an hour straight!! Like I said sometimes I can't take it and since I am so tired I leave the room. There were a few times I was so tired at night time that when he would wake up and scream I had to leave the room and sleep on the couch. (this is another reason why big Luis gets mad at me because he says he cant understand why I left him alone with the baby---he's not understanding how tired I am and my need for sleep!!!!) Is this normal?? lol I hope somebody can relate instead of thinking I am crazy. Well...hope you all are well! I am going to try to come on at least every other day now!

BTW I'm putting new pix up
