Not been able to get on to post personals as mister is having another growth spurt me thinks! (6 weeks one?)
sooo, here goes while he has one eye shut!

Kate.. well done on such a quick labour, and 2 paracetamols!! lol(although im sure it was far from funny) at Dh carrying you bk to bed i think mine would've collapsed with mine and masons combined weight!!
Im not sure quick labours are always the best.. there is no build up its just THERE,,
and midwifes tend not to want to believe that it is actually possible to go from 2 to 10cm and even crowning in minutes.. ho-hum..
and aswell your placenta prob was difficult to deliver due to fast labour as i was told it hasn't had time to gradually seperate as with a longer labour.
scary about the knot though..

great that ciaran is so much more better with the colic, who'd have thought a farting baby could make someone so happy? or is it just me that says good boy when he burps & farts lol!!
Its scary now they are growing out of things isn't it? Ive been to next today and bought the 0-2.5 size socks, they are really tight on the tops though i think.. it said on them £4 aswell but when i checked my receipt it said £1..and that was for 5 pairs of socks!! mistake i think! also got him a blue fleecy jacket and 2 beanie hats, and a cute long sleeved top..all in 3-6 mnths and it doesn't look as if he will be in them long
Also gonna need a bigger car seat soon, he is so squashed in this one, do you find it small? although the base for the car is excellent, did you get one aswell?
I stopped with the 'loss' 2 days ago now! but still wear a panty liner just incase coz i cant believe it yet! i had a few days when you last mentioned it of thinking it had gone but just getting a little when i wiped, but what a relief when it stops eh!?

pobs.. how are you feeling? hope you have had more sleep, hows scarlett doing apart from keeping you awake? Does she smile and laugh for you?! Mason looks so cute when he does it, he said 'oooohhh' yesterday and it took him all his strength to do it, you could see it was stuck in his throat for ages then it just came out, then because we laughed at him he was all smiles then thinking himself all clever probably!! lol!!
looks like Scarlett is having her 6 wk growth spurt aswell, how the mixed feeding doing?

well, I think he is down for the night now, ive fed him while doing this post and he's gone bk off again now, so that should be him til 2.30am, then he will have another feed between 4/4.30am, then he will be up at 6.30-7.00am, i dont feel the sleep deprivation thogh coz i just lay him next to me while he feeds and i go back to sleep, i think ive been putting him in his moses basket in my sleep lol, i dunno what ive been doing!!!! he is much happier in it now though so i'm happy!

well Dh has just phoned to tell me my car has been sold and the fella is coming for it tomorrow!! Yaaay! I can now start looking for a 7 seater! downside is i'm gonna be walking with 4 kids til i find one!! at least i might shift some weight that way!!

Off to bed now, before this lil man wakes up.

I'm guessing the reason for absence is due to everyone being busy with babies and in the process of having them!

hi ladies, excuse one handed typing!

hope you are all well. we're ok but suffering sleep deprivation. Imogen is really windy and cries all night, she doesn't sleep until at least 2am, one night she didn't sleep at all then she sleeps all day - viscious circle. so with ben there's not much opportunity to catch up during day, god i hope things improve before dh goes back to work, got until 26th.

milk came in yest - ouch! but she feeds well and getting into 2-3 hr routine during day. been so busy with visitors too, god i feel like a zombie!

ben is great, very affectionate and goes to hold her hand or stroke her head a lot, he calls her injin lol he's not showing signs of jealousy so we are very proud of him.

are some of the july babies still not sleeping at night? i'm just wndering how long it took your babies to sleep better as imogen is terrible, screams as soon as you put her down we don't get any sleep for hrs and are really struggling. wish i knew how long it lasts as ben was never this bad he would at least sleep an hour or 2 before the crying began.

sorry for no perso's i promise when we're more settled i'll get my arse in gear.

Congrats Paula!!! Love the name too - I loved Oscar for a boy (DH not so keen though the spoilsport!). Looking forward to your birth story.

Sorry not been on - but read Kate's post and just change her name for me - Carys doesn't scream all night but she certainly doesn't sleep either and sleeps all day like Kate said, and weve also been busy with visitors (HTH Kate!). No more though - Carys hasn't regained her birht weight and HV says it's because I'm doing too much and am overtired and it's affected my milk supply. So visitors are banned and I need to sleep more!

So sorry for lack of personals but just wanted to you know I'm ok and am thinking of you all. I'm not a fan of the sleep deprivation!

hugs to Sezzy, Imogen was a bit more settled last night no crying but she wouldn't sleep in her crib, only in my arms so i didnt sleep til 3! she's been awake more today so we'll see what tonight brings.

Hello ladies.
How is everyone doing?
I'm really well at the mo and getting a bit nervous about being a bridesmaid on Saturday.
We had a rehearsal last night and i tried my dress on today and it is getting very real!
The lady has had to take my dress in 2 sizes so i am well chuffed about that.
But i thought my jugs had gone back to normal but i they look very there in my bra today.
I guess they just feel a lot smaller than they were but they are from back to normal.

Angel= LOL about praising my boy when he brings up wind.
I tell him he has got mummy's burping potential and daddy's farting techniques!
Poor boy i won't be saying good boy if he does it in a few years time!
I haven't found my car seat to small yet he fits it nicely now.
I think he is just spurting out long ways he fits all his clothes now it is just the sleep suits that are not long enough.
I didn't get a base for my car seat not quite sure what the point of them is?
Good that the loss has stopped now.
I thought mine had but then again it comes only enough for a panty liner and nothing at night.
It is just annoying me now.
I never would have thought i would say i just want my period now so i can get on the pill and 'get some'!

Kate- Ooh i remember the milk coming in unfortunately.
The boobs are just silly and the not being able to sleep on them.
Well done to you if you persevere with it you are a better milk machine than me!
My little man is going about 3 hours for feeds still but in the night he has a 4 hour spell but he just won't settle when we first put him down.
As soon as you go to lower him in he feels it and screams.
He is very cuddly and likes to be against your chest if he is slightly awake but sometimes i just put him in if i am sure nothing else is wrong with him.
Have you tries colic drops for your little girl.
Ciaran still gets uncomfy with trapped wind but not as bad as before.

Paula- Congratulations on your little boy. I thought you went quiet for a while!

Sezzy- Glad you are well and trying to take it easy.
It is very tiring isn't it.
I have a new routine now though.
Before i was getting up first thing cause i felt like everything needed doing.
Now i make enough bottles up until late morning so after his early morning bottle i go back bed with him.
I gets in with me and we sleep for another couple of hours.
Not lots of sleep but enough to recharge a bit.
And we get a lush cuddle together before the day starts.

I can't believe this thread is nearly ended and we are parenting it together!
I have the health visitor tomorrow so hopefully she will weigh Ciaran.
I reckon he is a good 10lbs at the moment but it will be interesting to find out.
Also i can check out what she thinks about the colic.
He sometimes looks like he is trying to heave a poo out all day and then by teatime he fires it out and makes a right mess of himself.
A poo explosion if you will!
Can't be very pleasant but it think it is just trapped wind behind a no.2.
I'll try and get on tomorrow after the health visitor comes.

Hi Amy, sounds like Ciaran is growing nicely, hope Imogen gains weight soon as everything's too big and there's no point buying any more stuff. the b/f is going well so far, nips only hurt for one day and boobs much more comfy now, still feeding every 2/3 hrs, Imogen poo's for england so i know she's getting enough. I used to sleep in with ben too, can't do it now as ben's up by 7am usually and only naps at lunch, will try to synchronise them so i can sleep at lunch too. easier said than done although they've both been asleep and me and DH realised we both missed an opportunity to nap - doh!

Well last night i went to bed at 9pm and expressed some milk so dh could stay downstairs with imogen so i could get 2.5hrs before the nightshift. Was much easier staying awake but the little minx still didn't sleep in her crib until 4am waking at 8am. I'm mastering the art of dosing while sat up propped with pillows and Imogen in my arms as there's no way i dare lie down with her.

DH has been in the kitchen all morning making batches of shepherds pie and casserole, what a star

We're going to go for a walk with the dog as its nice and warm today, and post back the tens machine i hired which never even came out of the box!

Well just got in from my mum's after a glass of champagne.
Well a sip really as it was my first alcoholic drink and i was scared i would get pissed too easily.
I'm off to be a bridesmaid in the morning so won't be on again for a bit.
Wish me luck i'm nervous about walking into a church full but i can't wait.
I just hope the weather is good!

Hi all,

Things have been terrible here the past week hence no posts from me. To cut a long story short scarlett has been really poorly which we thought was just the heat rash the doctor diagnosed and the infection she hsa but she hs just been screaming constantly, not settling day or night. Health visitor came out to visit on Wednesday and I was a complete wreck, terrible state she checked Scarlett over and I
was teeling her how my milk supply is a little low so she's been having more and more formula. It turns out (thanks to my health visitor realsing not the stupid doctor who saw her last week) that she is lactose intolerant. HV told me to stop all formula feeds as of wednesday and just breastfeed to see if we can get my milk supply up. As ive just been so low and stressed plus no sleep for days she thinks thats what has affected my milk. Scarlett is also on wysoy milk now for her top ups. Its been an absolute nightmare, I haven't slept in days as she has been so unsettled poor thing plus she is wanting to feed constantly from me, I really hope my milk supply increases in the next couple of days otherwise she will have to have the soya milk instead. It only been a day or so but she is already so different. The horrendous nappy rash she had has cleared, rash on her face/neck/chest almost gone and she isn't exploding in her nappy or screaming after feeding like she was. Completly different baby. She has also smilied today...HV was concerned as she was quite vacant in her eyes the other day and hadn't smilied or made any nosie etc (apart from scream) The only other small concern is her weight, HV said she has put on too much, she was 11lb 11. I have been left feeling so guilty and depressed as ive obviously caused it by over feeding her. The whole feeding thing has just been so stressful, especially mixed feeding. I feel completly usless and such a failure at the minute. I cried my eyes out to the Hv the other day...knew I was feeling low but hadn't realised how much till I spoke to her. She has been really good though ringing me everyday and has passed my number on to a breastfeeding counsellor so she will visit me next week. I also have a community nurse coming out to see me on tues as my HV is now on holiday. I never realised how stressful this feeding bussiness is....And i do feel I have brought alot of it on myself. I wish I had carried on with the feeding at the beginning and not listened to others or what the books were telling me, I should have trusted my instincts and just gone with the flow but there you go, you live and learn. Sorry that was rather long winded. Just wanted to come by and say Hi and check you were all ok. Parenting thread here we come hay??? I actually read through loads of it last night looking for breastfeeding advice.
Hope you can forgive me not doing personals tonight but i'm off to bed in a minute to catch some shut eye before scarlett wakes up lookin for a feed. Congrats to Paula though on the birth of her baby, good luck for tomorrow amy, fingers croosed for the weather, hope you are feeling better in yourself Angel and that the feeding is still going well, Hope you have managed to catch up on your sleep Kate...Ive been doing alot of sitting up sleeping too!!. Hope the growth spurt has passed sezzy and you are getting more sleep. Big waves to everyone else.
